excuse this thread if email ids doesn't exists other than in english language)before posting i have searched for the solution , but most of the solutions uses regular expression to validate the format of the email id.
I am trying to look up the mx record to validate email. For example I have user@email.com I want to validate that this domain is existing and the user in the domain exists. I want to build it in vb.net.
I was wondering how i would be able to validate a textbox for the E-MAIL address of a person. For example it cant have anything like "`#[]-=+->~| etc. it MUST have an @ and a .com or .co.uk at the end of the e-mail. anyway i was wondering how i would be able to program this when the user types into the textbox they cant put in any of the other symbols?and IF there is a missing @ or .com then the user should receive an error message telling them to make sure that they put them in.how would i program that on a button?
I'm allowing users to manage a distribution list stored in a database. Users are only allowed to enter emails that are @mydomain.com. A web based application then takes the distribution list and sends emails. I'd like to validate that the email is valid before sending an email from the application.
To send an email I'm using this code:
Dim SendTo As String = "ThisIsNotARealEmailAddress@mydomain.com" Dim SentFrom As String = "me@mydomain.com" Dim MessageBody As String = "blah blah blah"
[Code]....
Is there anyway to validate the email when the email address is added to the database, instead of a try catch block when sending the email?
I am using this regex string in one of my programs to validate email adresses: "^[a-z0-9._%+-]+@[a-z0-9.-]+.[a-z]{2,4}$". This works well for the most part, but I just found out that it doesn't catch an address like this ... "john.doe.@yahoo.com" ... where there's a "." right before the "@", which is invalid, so my program tries to send it & throws an exception. How to modify my regex string to catch this situation?
Imports System.Net Imports System.Net.Mail Public Class Form1 Sub sendMail() Try Dim AnEmailMessage As New MailMessage
[Code]...
I use this code to send an email through gmail account but the thing I want to do is, I want to check whether the given email and password exists or not and if it exists then pop out a text box with the body of the mail and type the text and then send it as a mail. But in the above code you have to log in and type body and when you send the mail , It verifies for the email and password while sending and if anything goes wrong says there is no such gmail account.but i want to check it whether the email and password exists or not, when the user enters the email and password at the beginning itself. So that he enters the right email to log on to compose a mail.Is there any way to check whether the given email and password is correct at the beginning only ?
I am making a project, a database project using vb.net 2005 at front end ans sql server 2005 at back end. i have to validate my form, like for sTUDENT ID, only numbers are acceptable. that what is the way to validate it? the way which i have used is
Private Sub TextBoxHandlers() For Each c As Control In Me.Controls If TypeOf c Is TextBox Then AddHandler c.DataBindings(0).Parse, AddressOf Textbox_Validate End If [Code] .....
I think I'm close but how do you get what the text box is bound to? I'm trying to loop through all my textboxes and add a handler that on validation will insert a null if it equals string.empty. How to set the property manager by sending it the appropriate Binding context. I know that this code will not find textboxes in panels or ones that are on other controls, that's fine, for now. I'm also not sure how it will handle controls that are bound to different datasets.
I am trying to implement the following code to validate several textboxes The problem i cant figure out is once i get in an offending textbox and input the data i cant get out of it? I know i am probaly missing something simple but I can't seem to find it
HTML
Private Sub tb_Validating(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs) Handles subj_ba_txt.Validating, subj_bed_txt.Validating, subj_dom_txt.Validating, subj_gla_txt.Validating Dim errorMsg As String = "Missing Data"
i'm working on a window application and i'm looking for way to send email thru my application. anyone with the source code for email? hopefully the function would too be able to send mail to multiple receipent.
I am currently working on a mass emailing system. I am using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. With windows IIS in Windows XP SP3. My program can send mass emails using System.Net.Mail namespace found in .NET 2.0 but i have no idea on how to implement the receiving emails part.
im creating an application within VS 2005 and im trying to generate an email that will send every monday! but unfortunately its not doing that iv searched and searched the web for examples as i feel how i wrote the code is correct, other people have looked at it but still no luck
I have the following script to send a simple email and it will not work.
vb.net Imports System.Net.Mail Public Sub CTRL2_5_Clicked(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As ClickedEventArgs) Dim m As New System.Net.Mail.MailMessage Dim client As New System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient client.Host = "my.host.com"
I'm doing a mass email system using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and I'm suppose to use my codes to read the Email address from my Sql Server and send messages. My Default Smtp server is already running but my codes still cannot read the data from the sql server and send emails..
I have posted about receiving email before and this is a follow up of my progress. I have only one form and it consists of 2 buttons, one for downloading messages from the server, the other, to disconnect the connection. I also have one listview and one textbox to display the message. I took the codes from a few open source programming website and compiled them. My program works as such that upon clicking the 'Download Messages' button, a message box will pop up and the user/admin will be asked to enter the POP3 account name. My doubts are I am not sure what POP3 account name to put in.
I am developing an application which includes the ability to send email. The code works fine for sending internal emails but it fails: server unable to relay mail 5.7.1 when trying to send externally.
This is the code. Public Shared Function SendEmail(ByVal SubjectText As String, ByVal BodyText As String, ByVal Recipient As String) As String Dim msgClient As System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient Dim msgTo As System.Net.Mail.MailAddress Dim msgFrom As System.Net.Mail.MailAddress [Code] .....
I get the same error if I change the password to something incorrect so I'm wondering if the NetworkCredentials are being ignored? I've seen articles where teh IP address of the server must be trusted by the SMTP server or it won't relay the mail but I thought I was doing the same as an email client such as Outlook with the code above: that can be used from any PC on the network without having to specify its IP address on the SMTP server.
I am a student who is working on a project for a company on mass emailing system. How do i add a Bcc attribute in my program? I do not planned on applying pre-defined email address inside for example, mailMessage.Bcc.add("[URL]"). Instead, i have designed a windows application with a richtextbox for the user to enter the recipients' email addresses.
i wanna check if it's a hotmail email something like this : test@hotmail.com which hotmail.com is the domain i use this RegularExpressions to check if it's valid
I am trying to send email messages to multiple email addresses from a listbox. Here is my code -
For i = 0 To lstbxEmailAddress.SelectedItems.Count - 1 If EmailAddressTo = "" Then EmailAddressTo = CType(lstbxEmailAddress.SelectedItems(i), DataRowView).Item("EmailAddress")
[Code]...
I am able to get the email addresses stored in the variable EmailAddressTo separated by a comma in between addresses. However, it only sends to the first email address. I selected two addresses but it only sent to the first address. How can I add multiple addresses using the To.Add method?
I'm having trouble coding some new items into a program of mine. The program loops through you Inbox looking for emails that are UNREAD and have a certain subject line. The subject line in this case, is going to search for: "FAX TO: ###########" (actually, it just searches for FAX TO). Next step, I need the selected email to be FORWARDED to the fax number in the subject line - including attachments. In my code - I've already got the message selected - but I can't figure out how to programmatically forward it? I need explicit code help with the following:
1) Check to make sure there are 10 digits in the original subject line. If not - bail out and ignore that message.
2) Trim the subject line and save the phone number to a string
3) Forward the message (plus attachments) to the [URL]
I'm assuming I'll need to create a new Outlook.MailItem, but I'm not sure if I need to. Is there just some code I'm missing so I don't have to COPY the contents of the current MailItem to a new one.
I am using the SMTPClient in my VB.Net application to send emails. It appears it is getting an email signature from somewhere. Where does it get this signature? It looks like it is using an Outlook signature but our company no longer uses Outlook so the signature is wrong. Is there a way to remove the signature before sending the email?
I was using the following code in order to send e-mails to my company's intranet accounts from a VB.NET 2003 aplication. However this code was marked as no longer valid when I migrated the application after installing Visual Studio 2005.modifying this code in order for my application to compile succesfully? Dim email As New System.Web.Mail.MailMessage
