App.Config Tamplate Or Icon Is Not Finding In Visual Studio 2008

I am facing two problems which are mentioned below :-
i) App.Config tamplate or Icon is not finding in Visula Studio 2008 which I have seen in VS 2005
ii) I have developed Application using App.config from which I want to get Connection string. In that case I mentioned Name Space syste.configuration still I can't get ConfigurationManager Class. Please help how to get it. In 2008 I want connection string will be raised from app.config file. In that case how to possible please help with sample code.

I have 2 console apps projects in the same directory but different projects. There is some common code in the App_Code directory and a common app.config which gets build into seperate .exe.config files.One module (VScanDemonStarter) starts up and writes to one logger with its own appender going to a seperate file. It uses an process.start() to execute the other module (VScanDemon) in another command prompt hidden window.When I run VScanDemon by itself it puts entries into its log file. When I run VScanDemonStarter it puts entries into its (different) log file, the VScanDemon log file gets created, but no entries. I can see it is executing because some files get moved from one directory to another. Just no Log entries.

i am trying to figure out how to go about finding this window's label when the control name is the same as all the other labels on the program.

All 3 labels are named the same. The one i am most interested in is a progress % counter (1%, 2%, 3%, etc..)How can i get the value (using a timer of course) from that label without knowing the caption of it at any given time?

how can i track how many times a specific word appears in a text box then display the number of times found in a message box?
for example if i type this in a textbox: today is really hot, it is not very convinient to be outside, it is better if we go swimming
and i am looking for the word "is" troughout the sentence, it appears 3 times yet I am not sure how to make a code so it does count the times "is" is being found and then display it with a message:
"your word is found 3 times in this sentence"

I'm using VS.NET 2003 and VB.NET. I have placed my log4net.config file in the same folder as the source code and I want to automatically copy the log4net.config file to the bin folder just as the app.config file is copied to bin. Is there an automatic way to do this?

After upgrading from x86 to x64 bit I have been comfortable coding without any issues but now I have recently ran into the smallest but most significant final touch to the project. I can not add a Icon to my program, the default .ico for Visual Studio - Visual Basic is driving me nuts. Here is how I come to know if I am solving my problem right? - But after clicking on the <Browse> menu I just get a short respond for 1 sec and nothing opens. seriously I searched google but could only find hundreds of year old post about general icon help and nothing to pin point 'my' issue. i think it might not have the right directory or something.. but idk how to fix it CAN YOU HELP ME SOLVE.

I have a Visual Basic project and when working and modifying code, the compiler will crash and then a message will say something like "Microsoft visual studio encountered a problem and was shut down." I've tried editing code from the solution and the project. Both produce the error. Usually occurs when adding an "IF...Then..." condition. May work for hours but then crash. Solution will compile and build.

In a while loop, I am writing a progressively increasing integer value (between 0 and 100) to the Value attribute of a ProgressBar control, when it disappears from the window in which it resides. I have verified at the time that it disappears that the Min is 0, Max is 100, and Value is a valid integer in range.

For my sins, I have to work on a large VB.NET project and it often locks up for 20 seconds at a time whilst doing the very helpful background compilation
I'd rather work blind between compiles and be able to do some work.

I am very new to Visual Studio Application Development. I'm mostly a DB guy. I used Visual Studio as a Report Designer, not much of an .Net guy though I can understand it. I am now asked to create a .net application and I'm trying to create a "Hello World" starter app. I opened my Visual Studio, click File-New Project and all I see is Business Intelligence Projects and Other Project Types. I recently loaded my copy of MS Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition, with Visual Basic, on to my new laptop, one with a Windows 7 operating system. I have been working on a game development program for a few days now. And have come to a halt on one part, and thats adding a 3D space in the program. * The application should allow users to create as many new forms as they want and each form should behave like a MS Visual Studio WinForm. By saying that it should be a container for drag and drop of controls from the toolbox that I will develop....

I have had to do other things in life but recently I have been able to return to my project of getting a FFT for images using Visual Basic.I found that there are several things that can slow it down and as such I have found ways to greatly speed up the DFT without the further
step of using a Radix2 method. I will try to implement the Mod twiddle/twaddle later.But first I found that I can use just cos terms or just sin terms without having to use both.First I found that I can create all the analysing frequencies and their Cosines angles with the following code.The addition of (PI/4) allows the use of only the cosine terms( or only sine terms).The first part of the code test for the size of the rows of the picture and if not an even multiple of two it resizes the image so that the number of pixels is an even power of two. I dont care if the number of rows in the picture is or is not an even multiple of two at this point.

i'm running Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition (latest service pack ... 9.0.30729.1 SP) on XP Pro SP3 with .Net Framework version 3.5 SP1 I have a rather large project I've imported from Visual Studio 2003 (Standard).The project compiles and runs just fine ... my compiled program itself never crashes.
But while I actually have the code up in the IDE, and simply adding/deleting code the whole IDE will randomly crash (usually without warning) and I loose my changes since last save.If/when I do get some hint of why it crashed, I get a window about illegal whitespace or something.... but that's rare ... usually it just crashes without warning and the whole IDE completely shuts down instantly. just deleting/adding a character is enough to trigger it maybe once every 30 minutes.
This is on a computer that is otherwise very rock solid .... no other program ever crashes, etc.

this event works ok, but the problem is that I don't know what field was clicked. Should I use objectinfo or something else? VB.net won't recognize for example e.objectinfo.
