We have an access database that contains Version table. the same file is stored in 2 separate locations, how would i pull the information from both c:db1.mdb and \servernamedb1.mdb's table so i could compare the two?

And the second code will do the exact same thing. What i want to do is compare each line in the Txt file (Code B) to the reg expression matches (Code A) and for it to alert me if any is missing. So it needs to compare Code B to Code A. (PS. I've got a form where a user enters data. When the user submits that data, it inserts a record to two separate tables via a dataset. One of the records has no problem being saved into the database (in the table it was put into), but the other record seems to temporarily be in there (according to a third form), because it exists for the duration of the application, but when I exit, and then check the database, it's not there, and it's not shown on the third form when I restart the application again either.

and i have a compare button on the VB form. Is there any code that can compare the Company_Data with User_Data and copy all the records not found in User_Data to Changes_Data table. When updating it should update the "updated on" Column to the current Date.
Same needs to be done in the opposite way. Compare User_Data with Company_Data and note the diff. No Need to update Salary in this case.

I have produced some VBA in Access that creates a spreadsheet.I have also created an SQL query that retrieves records from an Access table.I have 48 tables (each table for a specific institution centre).I have created another bit of VBA code that creates a spreadsheet and loads the records from the query in to the spreadsheet.Each centre has a unique Sequence Number (Indent Number)At the moment though, all I can do is import one table (records for one institution) in to a spreadsheet. I want to end up with calling the function and having an output of 48 spreadsheets being saved to my desktop, each spreadsheet containing records of a different center.I have thought about putting a loop in, but not sure how I would quite go about it.

i have tried google and other sites.. but still cannot find solution. maybe i post the wrong question. but i manage to do this code. but its only shows only 1 record missing, but its supposed to show 5 records that r missing.
My approach is to setup three different queries and save to three different variables and then save the data in the three variables into the new table. The first 3 digits in parenthesis are the ISD code, the next three are the area code and the last four are the local number. I have a TabControl object on my form with many tabs created in code (TabPages) and my problem is that the same objects that are in the initial TabPage needs to be in the other TabPages created in code, I have this done in code when the user clicks the 'New Tab' menu option, however the same code is used for any new tabs created. The problem created here is that I have an event against one of the objects that appear in the other TabPages, but because the same code is used to create any new tab pages, the event will only work on the newest tab page, if that makes sense? By the way these objects that appear on the other TabPages are properties at the top so events can be handled against them in the respective subroutine.

I'll get straight to my problem - I'm currently coding in Visual Studio.I have a table (countries) with the columns ID | Name. The table is filled with around 28 records.I also have a form with 4 combo boxes (set up as 1,2,3 & 4) that I want the user to select. These combo boxes will display the names from the table countries. I then want to use the selected names in the combo boxes to Insert into their corresponding ID into another table. For example England would have the ID 1, USA the ID 2 etc.So, is it possible to have separate combo boxes that will give separate ID values but using the same table? At the moment I can't seem to find a solution.Eventually the form will have more than 4 combo boxes so I don't want to use separate bindingsources for each combo box.

View 6 RepliesI am using VS2008 and SQLite. I have created a database and several tables and am attempting to populate the tables with data from arrays.
The following code (example) works fine but stops after it inserts 30 to 50 records. I am running the VB code in debug mode and when it stops, I press pause to see where it is. It stops on "SQLcommand.ExecuteNonQuery()" and when I press continue (F5) it will insert another 30 to 50 records.
I do not get an error message. Is this a timeout issue? How do I keep the loop running to the end of the array?

View 3 RepliesWe are presently developing an application, let's call it APP1, which uses a SQL Database which have about 800 stored procedures, 600 tables, etc. APP1 was originally created in order to replace another application, APP0, from which we do not have source code but only SQL tables, Stored Procedures, views, etc. Previous programers of APP1 used some DB objects from this same database and added some other objects specific to APP1 because it becomes bigger than APP0. And we do not need APP0 anymore as APP1 does all what we want, and more.
So, now, we are thinking about a way to find out which objects are used by APP1 in order to remove objects which are ONLY used by APP0.What is the best approach to discover all objects used by APP1 without having to open every single class and form?
Once we will have a complete list of these objects, it will be easy to use a program we bought which detects all dependencies for all SQL Objects specified directly from SQL and remove objects which do not return from any dependencies. Any ideas of how I could get this list without having to go through all our program that have many, many, many classes and forms?
Note : I know, in a perfect world, all calls to PSs and tables should be in a DAL but in the case of the application we're presently working on ... this is not our case! Yippy! (sarcastic yippy) ;)
Note 2 : This application is not using any ORM. So all queries are directly using SqlCommand. So any call to any DB objects are in string format.

The remarked area works fine when I'm accessing a specific table. I've successfully inserted the products_model field into the combobox too. The datagridview does show the table names in the db using the SHOW TABLES sql statment, but I'm not understanding how to get this info into the combobox instead.
