.net - Crystal Reports Error: Cannot Find CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms Version 10.2.3600

Nov 26, 2009

I am refactoring an old program to use VS2008 (instead of VS2005) and the 2003 Crystal Reports merge modules no longer work on the client machine. I am using the CR version bundled with VS2008. Neither the CR10 merge modules downloaded from the SAP site work, nor the CR x86 msi.

Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms, Version=10.2.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Include Crystal Reports Assembly (crystaldecisions.reportappserver.commonobjectmodel Ver 13.0.2000.0) Into Windows Installer?

Sep 21, 2011

I have built a project using VS 2010 and I have 2 reports I am creating within the project. While in VS2010, I can debug the program and the reports work perfectly. Now I have come to the point where I want to publish my project and install it on a machine that my program will be used on. I tried 'Publishing' my project and running the 'Setup' file on the other computer and I get the following error: Unable to install or run the application. The application requires

that assembly CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.CommonObjectModel
Version 13.0.2000.0 be installed in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC)
first. Please Contact your System Administrator.

Doing some research, I have found out that you can manually change the GAC or have Windows Installer fix it for you. To be honest, I don't know where the GAC is or how to modify it. My ideal solution would be to figure out how to setup Windows Installer to fix the GAC and configure Crystal reports however to get my project to run on a basic machine. setup Windows Installer to install the appropriate Crystal Reports Engine so my project will work??

Forms :: Databind The Picture Box To A Database So The Images?

Jun 30, 2009

I've looked in a few places but haven't had much luck in finding what I'm after. So I have a picturebox on my windows form and it has an image set to it, I also have a bunch of reference files that reference to a bunch of images.

Me.PictureBox1.Image = My.Resources.imgs.image1
That piece of code works.

Now, I tried to databind the picture box to a database so the images would load on the change of a combo box but that got confusing really fast so what I did was created a database and it holds all the image references such as "My.Resources.imgs.image1" but its stored as type varchar(50).

Connecting to the database and retreiving the strings is no problem, that works all fine. The problem is converting the string to the image reference, it doesn't work. I've tried type casting, I tried using imagelocation rather than image but I want to reference to the resources that is attached to the project.

Forms :: Error: 'show' Is Not A Member Of 'MessageBox'

Feb 28, 2011

I teach VB in college, using the Express edition. I was doing an exercise with my class today using the MessageBox.Show() method in a Windows Forms application. But when I tried entering it in the edit window, it gave me the following error message: 'show' is not a member of 'MessageBox' and it did not show up in the Intellisense box. Most of my students' computers did work with that method, but one or two of them didn't. Meanwhile, I had to revert to the MsgBox() function to get through the exercise.

Crystal Reports - Use Crystalreportviewer To Display .rpt's?

Oct 7, 2010

I've been trying to build a simple vb.net app that basically displays already built .rpt reports in a crystalreportviewer. No matter how many times I try to code it, I run into problems. Some reports have worked, others have thrown errors such as load report failed, invalid path, etc.. All of the reports work when I run them in crystal.

Ideally, I'm looking to just have a menu with report names, and a crystalreportviewer where the user can click a report, and the app prompts them for parameter values.

I'm currently working with crystal 9 I believe, and vs.net 2003, or I have access to 2005 as well.

Decoupling Crystal Report From CrystalReportViewer

Mar 15, 2010

I'm using Visual Studio 2005 with VB.NET. I have a number of Crystal Reports, each with their own associated dialog resource containing a CrystalReportViewer. The class definitions look like this:

[Code]...

I basically instantiate the dialog, set theItems to the list I want, and call ShowDialog. I now have a need to combine several of these reports into one report (possibly like this) but the code that loads up the fields in the report is in the dialog. How would I go about decoupling the report initialization from the dialog?
