I have tried a Replace(text, Chr(196), Chr(45)) but it isn't working so it can't be 196. Is there a tool or something where I can copy this character and paste it into the tool and it will tell me what char code it is?
I read in a unique file type, its called .pkm, it's just a collection of hex data. Anyways, I'm using VB Express 2005 (or 2008 since it's free), and I read in the file, and printed out the values. It printed out the ASCII character equivalent, so all I saw were the weird symbols and all (the hex characters in this file do not convert using ASCII). What I want to do is convert it to hex so I can see what the hex values are.
Code:
Dim file As String
Dim data1 As String
file = "D:Documents and SettingsownerDesktopPokemon7-10-08_10ANNIV_ENG_Lugia.pkm"

Too bad image code is off. That is a screen from a hex editor that reads it in properly. Currently my program displays it the way it is seen on the right, but I need it displayed the way it is on the left, in plain hex.

View 1 RepliesI have recordsets in my MySQL database like this (in german): Karrieren im Porträt: Interview mit Thorsten Franck - „Ich liebe Produkte" Now when I get the data with the MySQL connector reader and write it into an xml file I get just this: Karrieren im Porträt: Interview mit Thorsten Franck Ich liebe Produkte As you (hopefully) can see, the minus (it's one of those long ones) and the upper and lower quote signs are not shown. The table is defined as UTF-8, the output of the xml file also.

Has anybody had this problem? I have a very simple query where I'm using a comma to denote something like - In ("purchase","refinance"). Access says that the comma is a special character & won't allow me to do anything. I have another PC which has all the same MS Access settings that allows me to run the same query. This lets me know it's a setting issue but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know what setting would cause MS Access to view a comma (,) as a special character?

I'm making a "wrapper" for an unmanaged DLL (written, I'm fairly certain in C). I have a c++ "wrapper" that I'm trying to convert to VB.net. I've got most of the program working, but I've hit a brick wall.
I'm trying to convert the following two structures from their c++ versions to their vb.net versions. I cannot be sure which is the problem because both must be passed at the same time. The error I am getting is thrown by the object and indicates "Invalid structure size specified". I can cause this error on other objects when I either don't set the dwSize variable, leave off a parameter or change the parameter type incorrectly. Note that the dwSize parameter is supposed to contain the size of each structure. I'm successfully calculating that for my other structures and I'm using the same method on these and the results appear correct, so I do not believe the problem is found there. The object uses a lot of structures and the rest of them are working. These two are the only ones with a) an unsigned character pointer b) an unsigned long array and c) doubles.
C++ versions:

I don't think I'm missing any parameters - the help file seems to agree with me on this, but it's theoretically possible that there is something missing (though I don't think so for other reasons as well). My suspicion is that it's dwPalette, pImageData or pMaskData with (in my uninformed opinion) more suspicion on the pImageData and pMaskData.
I am using this line of code to place a special character in a textbox at the cursor location:
Me.RichTextBoxPrintCtrl0.Text = Me.RichTextBox.Text.Insert(cursorloc, "ῳ")
It works good, but after it has been done, if you try to undo the action by pressing control Z, for example, it is not undoable. Is there a way to make the action undoable?
