View 1 RepliesMVC3 VB.NET application using Itextsharp. I have a section of code that generates a pdf file everything looks great but I would like to alternate the line colors in that pdf file between 2 color so that the values are easy to follow for the person looking at it. Is there a way to set the background color of a whole line based on font size to a set color? A function I would be using this in is below:
[Code]...
I thought about just setting the background color of the line by using the y_line1 and using a modulus to determine if the color should be grey or white. But I have found no code samples anywhere about how to set a whole line background color..
i want custom paper size can i declare in height and width of the paper.
View 1 RepliesI have created a PNG image that is 200 DPI, and perfectly sized for a landscape A4 page size. I needed to convert this to a PDF document, so I've used the iTextSharp library with the code below.This all works, however the image quality has degraded.
Public Sub ConvertPNGtoPDF(ByVal inputFile As String, ByVal outputFile As String)
Using fs As New FileStream(outputFile, FileMode.Create, FileAccess.ReadWrite, FileShare.None)
Dim document As New Document(PageSize.A4.Rotate, 0, 0, 0, 0)

I have used My.Settings for quite some time now, in both VS2005 and now in 2008, but never noticed this behaviour yet... I must be forgetting something trivial? I create a StringCollection setting and manually enter some data (strings).I write some code to handle this, and I get it to work.
Then, I manually add some new strings (and edit the older ones) in the Settings page, save the project, and run my code again.For some reason, the last changes have not been saved... Whenever I look in the settings page, I see them there, but my code cannot recognize them..

I'm reading in an image (jpg) using the code below and I need to check that the image is no bigger than 150 pixels by 150 pixels and is less than 25k, how should I do this?
PictureBox2.Image = Image.FromFile(.FileName)
I have a webbrowser control, and given a url that points to an image
(Ex: [URL])
How can I get the image dimensions?
I'm reading a folder to assess the width x height of jpeg's, to classify them in various ways. Opening each as a bitmap and reading the bitmap width and height works but of course is laborious and very slow .... I've read various JPEG file format papers but retrieving the image pixel width and height seems none too obvious. Is there a logical way in VB to get this info quickly? My jpeg's are bog-standard ones made using VB's "Bmap.Save(Fname, ImageFormat.Jpeg)".

View 1 RepliesI'm making a photo editor and the size of the image depends on the size of the window, like the Zoom mode in the BackgroundImageLayout property of a form. It works sometimes: when resized only a small amount, it does nothing, but when the image is resized more than that, it jumps to the right position.

I have an instance where I have a logo image as part of some artwork..If a user uploads a new logo I have a form field which is larger than the default logo.I then use that form field to position the new image.
The problem is I need to set the background colour of that form field to white so that it covers the old logo in the event that the new image is smaller than the old logo..
what I have done is:foreach (var imageField in imageReplacements)
{
fields.SetFieldProperty(imageField.Key, "bgcolor", iTextSharp.text.Color.WHITE, null);
fields.RegenerateField(imageField.Key);
PdfContentByte overContent = stamper.GetOverContent(imageField.Value.PageNumber);
float[] logoArea = fields.GetFieldPositions(imageField.Key);
[Code]...
The problem with this is that the background colour of the field is set to white and the image then doesn't appear.. i remove the SetFieldProperty and RegenerateField commands and the image replacement works fine.is there a way to set a stacking order on layers?
in vb.net is it possible to get the coordinates of an image like if i do a
document.add (jpeg_image)
x_coordinate = jpeg_image.xcoordinate???????
i need to add a data table right after an image on a PDF in vb.net

i highlighted broccoli, buckwheat, butter, cabbage. these are all part of a data table that is supposed to go after the bottom SEVERE word because the entire thing that you see is one image called jpg2
I'm currently trying to extract an image from a pdf file using iTextSharp.
The pdf is made from a scanner: it has a single page that contains one big image.
When looking at the file I find the following:
<< /Type /XObject /Subtype /Image /Name /Obj3 /Width 2480 /Height 3507 /ColorSpace /DeviceGray /BlackIs1 true /BitsPerComponent 1 /Length 5 0 R /Filter /CCITTFaxDecode /DecodeParms << /K -1 /Columns 2480 >> >> stream
[Code].....
But, that doesn't work as I get one big black tiff file with different shades of gray on top.
Does anyone know a way how I can decode those CCITTFaxDecode images?
i have an image that i just want to place all the way at the bottom of the page. how do i do this?
View 2 RepliesI'm upgrading my VB6 project to VB.NET and I found one of the problem below relating to dimensional array.Here's my VB6 coding :
Private Function ConvertMatrixToBase0(ByVal MyMat() As Double) As Double()
Dim i, j As Long
Dim ConvMat() As Double[code.]...
When i port it over to VB.NET, i encountered error message 'ReDim' cannot change the number of dimensions of an array. for the line highlighted in red. And I suspect that VB.NET need to always define the exact dimension of the array during the declaration. But for the function above, for the array of 'MyMat()', I do not know what is the exact dimension every time it runs, and that is why i need to check the dimension of the array.My question is do we have any solution in dealing unknown dimension array in VB.NET? As in VB6, we can just define Array() instead of Array (,) in VB.NET.
I have iTextSharp creating a pdf for me in VB.net. Everything was working famously, except now I want to embed an image. I tried this:
Dim test = My.Resources.MyImage
Dim logo = Image.GetInstance(test)
This an error though:
'GetInstance' cannot be called with these arguments
It appears as though it expects a path, and is getting a System.Drawing.Bitmap type.
Is there any way that I can add a project resource image to my PDF?
I'm using iTextSharp to print a PDF document. Everything goes ok until I have to print the company logo in it. First I noticed that the logo had poor quality, but after testing with several images, I realize that was the iTextSharp rendering it poorly.The test I did to say this was to print the PDF using my code and then edit the document with Acrobat 8.0 and I drew an image. Then printed the two documents and saw the noticeable difference.My question is that if anyone know if this can be due to a scaling problem where I'm failing to tell iTextSharp how it must render the image or is an iTextSharp limitation.
[Code]...
I am placing and image using this [code]It works perfectly however when my document is extended to second or third page.. it does not stays on the first page.. it stays on same position however moves to the last page
View 1 RepliesI am using Stanav's PdfManipulation2.AddImageToPage(..., Pages) for iTextSharp library (v5.1.3) and was not able to add the image to specific pages: e.g. to add to only page 1 and 3 of a five pages PDF
Dim Pages() As Integer
Pages = New Integer() {1, 3}
PdfManipulation2.AddImageToPage(..., Pages)
Calling AddImageToPage() with the the optional Pages parameter will add the image to all pages though.
is it advisable to play with the controls to make my form look like this or should i just use this graphic and place it in the background. if the former, then please suggest which controls on the form i can tweak to make the form look like this?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to set the value of the image to

It works if I put that directly into the "value" field in the rdlc layout. However, if I create a "paramImage" string parameter and set it like this
Code:
Dim ImageParam As String
ImageParam = "=""file:///logo.jpg"""

View 6 RepliesIm trying to set a background image for my Form. The problem is that the form contains textboxes, groupboxes, labels and panels, so I have to manually set the picture for each type of objects. That looks weird though because you can tell that the same picture has been placed a lot of times for each object. Is there a solution to this?

I am working on my media program which utilizes the amazon ecs web service. So far it does a search and pulls a list of image url's for the dvd covers.

Here's what I have so far

If item.IsSetLargeImage() Then
Dim largeImage As Image = item.LargeImage
If largeImage.IsSetURL() Then

I have a problem when i opened a picture that
size image < size picture box
How can make the background of the picture box become an image too because my coding was to get the pixel from width and height picture box.. When I found the none image property, vb will show the error.. said coordinate(x,y) was null. It can be illustrated like on the picture above.
Sometimes I will used it when:
picture properties - size mode = center image
So the picture will found at center height and width.. and the background will surround it. Sometimes I used it after rotating the picture.. The problem occur when the picture get rotate for 45 degree. I am taking all point corners of the image and rotating it. So the picture will create 4 triangle at the corners..
Im using Visual studio 2005 and I want to push a button which opens either olderbrowserdialog or openfiledialog(which ever works better) and select a picture when I Push Ok the picture I selected becomes the backround image of the form does anybody have idea on how to do this
