It's not letting me - apparently it knows to force digits...

Sep 20, 2010Is there anyone who can tell me the code for the below? Receive a lower bound and an upper bound of a range. Also receive a number of random numbers to generate. You must validate
1) the numbers are integers
2) the lower bound is less than or equal to the upper bound
3) the number to generate is positive (i.e., > 0).
Generate this many numbers in the specified range and keep track of how many of each are generated in an array of counters. Once all the numbers have been generated, display in a List Box the number, the raw count data, and the percentage of how many times the number was generated displayed with two decimal places of precision.

Multiple Textboxes Bound To Different Items In List?
Oct 1, 2010On my form I have 3 textboxes. They get their data from a database query. The trick is the database may return 1 result or up to 3. If the query returns only 1 result, I want the first textbox populated, 2 results, 1st and 2nd textbox populated, etc... I also want to be able to track CurrentItemChanged Event for updating purposes. My initial thought was to use a list object as the binding source but how would I cycle through the list if it returns more than one so that I can assign the values to the 2nd and 3rd textboxes or if data is entered in to a blank textbox I want the currentitemchanged

Now - here's the really odd part! See the attached image. I call up a vendor - go to change the LANGUAGE FROM (Finnish) to another language - when I leave the DROP DOWN for LANGUAGE FROM it puts garbage in the RateHr_3 field. It actually fills the field with "System.Data.DataRowView" - as you can see in the bottom piece of the attached image.I'm having a really hard time debugging this - How do you put a watch on a textbox in VS2008?

Datagrid View Two Columns Bound To Same Data?
Aug 7, 2010I have a datagridview control that will be used to allow the user to input records. The control uses a combobox column to select a type of service. There is a rate associated with the type of service that I then want to display in the grid. The user then enters a quantity and the last column mulitplies the rate and quantity to get a total. I have the combobox , quantity and total columns figured out but I don't know how to get the rate column to automatically be selected when the type of service is selected. Datagridview With Bound And Unbound Calculated Columns Won't Display
May 4, 2011DataGridView1 is bound to a sql table. Cells(0) and (1) come from that table. Cells(2) and (3) are calculated. While debugging the code, the calculations and lookup look fine, but the results will not display in the columns. Here is the code:

Bound Datagridview Not Bound?
Jul 9, 2010There is something strange going on with my datagridview.
I've a data adapter that fills the underlying data table from a database. Then I assign this datatable as datasource to the datagridview Then I add a row to the datagridview and immediately I need to update the table in my database (as soon as user leaves the newly created row).
At this moment I have more rows (+2, not +1) in my datagridview than in the underlying datatable (the new row doesn't exists yet in it so the data adapter .Update method doesn't write anything to the database).
When DataGridView's .RowLeave event fires the undelying datatable is not yet updated. I've a question - is this behavior normal?

Jan 26, 2009We are binding most of our text boxes and dropdown boxes to a BINDING NAVIGATOR (with a DATA SOURCE of a DATA TABLE).When the BN is clicked through the text boxes all change immediately.We need to use some non-bound controls as well.First one is 4 radio buttons that when clicked will change a single value in a DATA TABLE.What would be the best method to do this? Should I track when the CURRENTCHANGED event occurs on the BINDING NAVIGATOR.I'm thinking that I could trick this by BINDING the SINGLE FIELD to a HIDDEN TEXTBOX and when that textbox CHANGED event occurs mess with the radio buttons and visa-versa.

Dec 7, 2009I am having problems with creating this change problem. The idea is that the user puts the amount of money in the textbox and then in separate textboxes shows Dollars, Quarters, Dimes, Nickles and Pennies.

I have looked at several examples and while this is easy for a dropdown it is not for listview.
The code below works without error, but my item is not shown on runtime. I think the class is not setting the item fieldname correctly, but I can't figure out the right syntax to fix it.

When I run the form app and in the form load call I bind the array to the DGV all works fine and the DGV is fully populated. However, if I change an item in the array I had expected it to change in the DGV.. it doesn't. Or rather, it only updates if I click on the cell that should have changed.

Nov 7, 2010I have a form with 3 datagridview controls that are bound to tables in a sql database. When the form loads for the first time the data is displayed correctly. If I add data to the db on another form then show the first form again the data displayed does not include the new data. If I close the app and then open it again then the new data is displayed.I cannot figure out how to manually refresh the gridview. I have tried calling the fill method of the adapter, using the refresh method of the gridview and parent control and form with still no luck. I have a ASP.net project I'm working on also and it is so easy to refresh the sqldatacontrol and the gridview and I would have though a win form would have been just as easy if not easier.

Can't Update Bound DataGridView?
Oct 15, 2008I have a datagridview bound to a table adapter. It displays data just fine. Part of this data is a comments field. When a user wishes to edit this I open a seperate form with the data in a a text box. After the user edits this text, how do I update the database / datagridview?
I can update the datagridview cell's value but that doesn't propagate to the database until the focus is removed from the row. I tried BeginEdit and then EndEdit (which should commit) but apparently it needs to move to another row!
Clearing Out A Bound DataGridView?

This form contains various other textboxes and combobox controls as well and allows users to create and view Work Orders. It also has a Button control ("New W/O"), that when pressed will clear all values from all the controls on the form. My problem is that it's not removing the rows of data in the dgv. Jun 20, 2009I have a DGV that is bound to an Access DB DataTable. I have added a column in the DB that is either a 0 or a 1. When the program loads, I want to change the backcolor and forecolor of each row based on the value of this column's cell. ie: a 1 makes the row red, a 0 makes the row green. this column would be hidden in the DGV.
Is this possible to do at runtime even though it is bound?
I'm not sure when I would actually do the color swap, formLoad?
Second question, as I iterate through each row of the DataGridView and need to change the value of this column, will this update my DB automatically, or do I need to call an update() after each row?

Apr 9, 2012Okay so I have a datagridview that is bound to a dataset. I have a column called type is a string char of either C, R, A, or V. The problem is that I want to sort the datagridview rows using that column and do so in the order I just gave so I want rows with C on top and then R and then A and then V. Because these aren't alphabetical, how could I sort the items this way? I did look into the icomparer, but really wasn't able to figure out how that works.

In all cases I get a green wavy line under the equation and the tip help says "Validation (ASP.Net): If this attribute value is enclosed in quotation marks, the quotation marks must match.
String.Format("{0:D}", DateTime.Now)
is the syntax that I have been told should work.
