I have an application half built which accesses a Access (2003)Database File. From within the application I am able to change the data in the Access File using a Data Grid. The changes to the Data File are saved and can be recalled, changed or otherwisemanipulated however, when I add too or change any of the applicationcode the Access file reverts back to it's original state losing any data or changes that has been made.
I have an application that has an Ms Access 2007 DataBase which runns great if access is installed. Is there any code that I can use in vb that I would be able to run access with out installing it.

I am trying to import data from an access database to a access database that my project uses I am having problems with combo box fields in the database with the data. I want to import what is displayed instead of the numerical key value. Example: The combo box displays employee names but the value stored is the key value from the employee table so instead of importing John Doe it imports 2 is there a way to make the actual name instead of the number?

I'm using VS 2010, and I did a project using VB and a database in Access. The problem is that when I try to put that "application" on other computers, sometimes, is not working. I thought it can be because on these computers they don't have access, but on one computer, is running another app which is using Access and there is no Access installed. How can I check if my application requires Access to be installed or not?

This program is very difficult for me, but I must get threw it or I cannot finish... What I am doing is making a Database of foreign Languages with the spelling of the words and the pronounciation inside the database... The USER enters a paragraph of words into the translator textbox and pushed translate. The program has a DATABANK of words with the phonetic spellings and matches the word, then translates to phonetics. The problem is that new words keep appearing inside the language. I'm trying to connect a VB application (2010) to an MS Access DB by adding a data source from the data menu but I receive this error message "The connection you selected uses a local data file that is not in the current project.Would you like to copy the file to your project and modify the connection ?
If you copy the data file to your project, it will be copied to the project's output directory each time you run the application" and the options are (yes , No , Help)
If I choose Yes I will not be able to make the application 'device independent ' since it will not be copied under the bin , and if I choose No , changes won't be applied to the DB

I have a report made in Crystal Reports XI. The report is generated and exported to PDF in visual basic script using COM interface. Generally everything is running smoothly, but in one case generation breaks with error: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code 9421]
Database used is MSSQL 2005 connected over ODBC to CR XI. When I am opening report with exactly the same parameters in Designer, everything works fine.It looks like it is data related, but it is hard to trace since the whole report is pretty sophisticated. I have an exe of an application.I want to automate the process of inserting start time into the text box of the application,I do not know the value of the textbox as I do not have the source code of the application.
I noticed that my application is running a bit slow. This is a Windows Service built using VB2010 with SQL Server as a back end. Its main function is to poll a folder looking for a text file. If found it reads the text file and imports the data into SQL Server.
While the slowness could be caused by a number of reasons, I am looking at my code to determine if it could be more efficient. Below I've pasted snippets of code where I initialize the DB connection and execute SQL statements. I've also included a snippet that illustrates how I am processing the text file.
I'd appreciate if the group could have a look at these and let me know if the method that I am using is the most efficient possible. At this time I am also focusing on other probable issues, but I can't rule out the possibility that the code that is in place might be a contributing factor.

make a program in VB.net Ultimate 2010 that will take screenshot of the current desktop and save it to MS Access Database 2000 in a single click of button.
The challenge is the form. Form must be hide first before taking the screenshot so it will capture only the current desktop. After that, it will automatically saved to the MS Access database 2000. I hope someone can help me out of this stuff.

First, I would like to add a text box search field to this form (because navigating through several thousand users with arrows isn't going to work). When the search button is pressed, I want the username to be looked for. If found, the form (and each textbox, option button, etc.) is updated with that user. I can then modify the user's information and press save.
Second, how do I access and change information in a database with only code? For example, if I periodically want to check every user in the database to see if they have over "100 points" and if they do, I subtract 10 points from that user.

when i will enter form no. in the text box this should check the on the lost focus event either this form no. is already exsist or not.if exist show msgbox?
