I have made a program with a main Form and several auxilary forms. Is it possible to modify the auxilary form in a way like a msgbox. It stays always in focus, and you cannot interact with the main form. What I did find was the Form.enabled (True or False) method, but then the main form completely greys out, but I don't like the way it looks.

How can I make it so that when I re-size my program all my buttons and text boxes move with it. I don't know how to explain it, but it's like if I have a button in the center of my form and I re-size my form I want my button to stay centered not just have the form stretch out.

I'm currently debugging a form that sets a flag when the mouse button is pressed, then clears the flag when the mouse button is released. As long as the mouse button is pressed, the user can move the mouse around and a few things happen depending on where they move. One of the things that happens is that a timer starts, or stops, and a few things change color depending on the mouse position. The timer starts when it should, then stops when it should, but once stopped, it is not re-starting when it should. I can verify that MouseMove events are getting through, because coloring changes as I move the mouse, as it should. This would be a simple thing to debug...except that it requires the darn mouse button to be down, and it uses the mouse move event. Anybody who has put a breakpoint in a mouse move event handler knows the issue: There are THOUSANDS of them. Worse yet, since the mouse button is necessary for switching to the IDE, as well as setting a breakpoint (technically, a keyboard shortcut could do this if I could shift focus), I can't wait for the problem to happen, then switch to the IDE and set a breakpoint to see what is happening then.Does anybody have any tips or techniques for debugging in mouse move events when the mouse button is down and has to stay that way? As it is, I'm going to have to write some funky code into the method just so that I have a place to get a breakpoint when I need it without breaking on every one of the mouse move events.

I have a sequence of ASP.NET web forms, each holding a placeHolder control and 3 buttons: "Previous Page", "Quit" and "Save Answers" (in this order). On page-load event, the placeHolder is programmatically filled with a list of questions an a series of radioButtonList's for answering, and the focus is set on the "Save Answers" button using btnSaveAnswers.focus()
When the page loads, the focus is set on the "Save Answers" button as expected. The problem is that when i start clicking in radio buttons to answer questions, the focus shift on the "Previous Page" button (maybe because its the first in the row?) but i want it to stay on "Save Answers". So ho could i prevent shifting of the focus?Enclosing the 3 buttons on a panel and setting the defaultButton="Save Answers" property of the panel did not work. The tabIndex of the 3 buttons are 3, 1 and 0 respectively

The scenario is two forms. Form A has a button. You click on the button to open form b. Form b opens. Close form b. The focus returns to the button on form a. When the focus returns to form A, I'm trying to put the focus on another object like a text box and it won't go there. It keeps going back to the button. If I try to set the focus to a text box, the focus event of the text box is triggered but then it still continues to go back to the button. If I disable the button then I can prevent the focus from going back there, but then I can't use the button.

I am working on a timing program and have a start button programmed to clear all the variables and start timing events. I have another button programed to stop the timing and show the data. The problem is that when I place the cursor on the start button and press the left mouse button it workes fine, but when I move the cursor to the stop button and press the left mouse button the start buttons 3D showes that it was pressed? Since the start button clears all of the data there is nothing to display in the text boxes. If I press the left mouse button again the stop buttons 3D shows that it was pressed. Have looked everywhere for a hint as to what to do but have found nothing yet.

I am setting my Winforms Button control properties to appear as a hyperlink would on a web page. I've formatted everything fine, except the border in the FlatAppearance object. I have code to act as pseudo-CSS (FormBackColor is a string constant.):
b.FlatStyle = FlatStyle.Flat
b.BackColor = ColorTranslator.FromHtml(FormBackColor)
b.ForeColor = Color.Blue
[code]....
The code removes the border from the flat Button control except on MouseOver, where I add a 1 pixel border. On MouseLeave, I remove the border. This is to show some visual feedback. This works fine when the button does not have the focus. However, if I click on the button, giving the button focus, mousing out and over again now shows a greater than 1 pixel border around the button. I'm imagining it's combining my button's explicit 1 pixel border with the traditional "Winform Button has the focus, so add a border" border around the Button.How can I disable/remove the "Winform Button has the focus, so add a border" border? Or, should I just do a check in ButtonMouseOver to check if the control has the focus, being a condition of adding the border, and just be done with it?

My application has a form which contains several Textboxes where user is required to fill up data. Once data is filled up user can click on "Save" button to save the data. I have added lost focus events to all textboxes so as to validate user input. When I click on cancel button, i want to detect cancel button click, but textbox lost focus is fired first so I get error message for textbox before my code moves to cancel button click handler. Is there any way to detect button click before lost focus event?

Is there a more efficient/easier way changing the backcolor of a control when it has focus and lost focus? Let's say I've got 10 text boxes. Right now I would have 20 different events...10 for Enter event and 10 for Leave event. Of course, entering would change the back color to "green" and leaving would change it back to "white".

Here is what I've done:1) Created an Excel COM add-in for Excel 20032) Added a NotifyIcon to the Windows taskbar notification area (aka system tray) during ThisAddIn_Startup3) Added a ContextMenuStrip with a ToolStripButton to the NotifyIconWhy is it when I right click on the NotifyIcon, Excel gains focus? If after clicking on the NotifyIcon to display the ContextMenuStrip I choose not select an option on the ContextMenuStrip and instead click back on the Excel window, I get a weird flashing cell in Excel.I've created a video of the problem to help you see what I [url] anyone know how to prevent this? Ideally, I'd like to be able to click back on Excel and only have the ContextMenuStrip close and Excel regain focus.

I have two forms in an application. One is he background and then I show another keypad form called with the show() method (not showDialog) because I need to perform some validations on btn click.
The kepad has 10 buttons and an Enter Button. The problem is that the form keeps loosing focus (I checked this with a messagebox which keeps poping up once for focus=true and again for focus=false, it continuously keeps losing and gaining focus) so it does not process any keypress events untill i click somewhere on the form. I tried using me.focus() in form load event but to no avail. The forms TopMost property is also set to true.

recommend a book that focuses on the .NET framework in general and isn't too language specific.
