May 25, 2012Regarding my college project. i'm working on a sales system . i have a form which consist of all the following information( item code , item name , item price , quantity of item ) which is display using a data grid . data input by user using text box and all this information will be stored in a database(sales database) i'm using ms access 2007. the grand total will be displayed in a text box . and amount paid will be input in a text box too , my major problem now is how to i create a reciept that will have all this information of the purcase. i have a reciept button . what the next step ? i dont have any idea how to get the reciept done.

Nov 28, 2009I have a datagridview which is populated with information from a database. I would like it so that when I click on one of the items in the table, the information appears in the text box, or other suitable tool.
The VB output is an EPG (electronic program guide), that has a list of programs and the channels/time etc. So when you click on the program such as 'The News,' the data from the database such as 'Description' will appear in the textbox.

Jan 1, 2012I have a list box on the form which functions as a copy/paste. When you copy something, it is automatically added to the list box as a "clipboard helper". Here is the problem,however: if the text is more than 1 line, the list box does not show all the text.It ends up looking messy.So getting back to my question, is it possible to make the list box item height for an item depending on the amount of lines that item contains?This is a one line sentence in the list box and should take up one line.This is a multi line sentence in the list box and should take up two lines for item height.

List Box Text And Value For An Item?
Jun 5, 2008I am building a small utility to transfer files. I have a list box that I am adding the file names to be moved. The question is how to I add a text and a value field to a list box item. This will not be databound it is an unbound list box. I am using this to add the filename but I want the value to have the full path for later file moving. So how do I add a value and a text to an item?

Aug 19, 2010In simple terms, I want to compare the value of a databound listbox display member with another string. However; I need to convert the listbox databound items to an array first as I may have to do 1,000's of comparisons on this.
I have a databound listbox from a sql server table that populates fine. I'm trying to retrieve the display value of a listbox item without selecting the item. My goal is to compare items in listbox1 with items in listbox2 and if item is in listbox1 matches an item I want to load into Listbox2, then I do not add the item to Listbox2. Listbox 2 is not databound but contents I'm loading come from a datatable.
So, I iterate through the items in listbox2's datatable but as I'm adding the items from the datatable to the listbox2, I check if the item exists in listbox1. The data that is being compared is the Displaymember of Listbox1 and a string value I want to manually load into listbox2.[code]....
Get Text From Dynamic Drop-down Item?
Jun 18, 2010My program populates a drop-down menu with items dynamically at runtime. The items listed are the currently running windows and applications seen in the Windows taskbar. I was wondering if there was a way to retrieve the text of a selected menu item during runtime and use it to set focus to that application or window (which is the text of the selected menu item). I have looked at using the AppActive function to achieve this. I just don't know how to retrieve the text of the dynamically created menu items. Please keep in mind that I am an amateur coder so my code might look stupid. I have tried the following code block with no success:

This is because there is no '.text' function within the listview. I looked all over the internet but found 0 solutions . Everything I found just didn't quite answer the question. Oct 24, 2009i have a listbox w/items. that when running code, the rtb, if it contains a listbox item, it replaces it.. no problem there..the problem i'm facing is that if i have the word "To" in the listbox, by using .contains, when running text in rtb, if i have "DeskTop" as a word in rtb, it ends up replacing the "To" in "DeskTop"..
i have tried the intellisense menu to the limit on finding something other than .contains to use in order to only replace if it matches exactly the item in the listbox. no luck. ;o/
