in my program have 2 textbox-textbox1 and textbox2. 2button-Open and Save. and 2radio button-csv and shp. the situasion is when user 'Open' user will select any file(e.g:hello.txt) and it works-C:\Program File\Document\hello.txt display on textbox1. Now if i want select radio button whether csv or shp the output will display on textbox2 and change the C:\Program File\Document\hello.txt to C:\Program File\Document\hello.csv(if i select csv).

View 1 RepliesI have close to 10,000 serverside pages, all of thse use the same stylesheet. I have created a new serverside page which is like a dynamic menu system to help find specific pages from the existing 10,000 pages quickly and easily.
The problem is, that if the serverside pages are accessed the old way using the old menu system, they should retain their old stylesheet. however, if they are accessed via the new menu system, they should use a new refreshed stylesheet.
Is it possible to change few bytes in a file to make unreadable or is it necessary to change each single byte?

View 3 RepliesI have a vb.net 2008 desktop application to make changes to it. Since the production database will be changing within a month, I know that i need to change the .net remoing.
1.I change the configuration manager file (app.config) in debug mode to point to the 'new' test database, however the changes are not pick up. The application is still pointing to the current database. Thus can you tell when what kind of files.I need to change so that this application picks up the 'test' data base?
2. After I have tested the changes that need to be made, I will need to deploy the changes. Thus i am assuming that I will need to do something different so I can put the application changes into production. Thus, can you tell what kind of extra dlls,exe, xml, and other files I will need to include in the deployment package? Is there anything else I need to do in the deployment package? This application uses .net remoting to have the database connect to the various proejct files in the entire solution file.
I need to holds the common settings for all of the apps ona server (UNC path). Previously I used an ini file on the server and the application was told to look there via a command switch.
I understand that I'm trying to use .net in an old fashioned way by not packaging it for web update & delivery but that's a contraint of the architecture I need to work with.
Is there any way to force my application to use the application.exe.config file from a set location rather than the user data area that .net automatically writes it to? Even if not on a server path, then in the application directory where we can push update it?
I use Vb.NET from VS 2010 I use a SQL File to run a script, when changes to the database should be done.This works fine for me. The SQL File is in my project and marked as embedded file.Now I run into an issue. I have to change the user name, when updating a Trigger or SP (for complete information: I use mySQL and 3rd Party Script component)So, I thought, I write the embedded file into a Temp-File, make the changes to the file, run the temp file through the script component and then delete the file.
