Apr 9, 2010I have a form which contains a tab control with three tabs on it. On a second tab there is a PictureBox. The problem is I can't figure out how to check if the PictureBox is completely loaded.I can't put "pictureBox.CreateGraphics.DrawRectangle(Pens.Aqua, 100, 100, 100, 100)" into a form load event because picturebox is not active until I click on the tab2. It neither works with tab2.enter event nor any other events I have tried so far. However it works through the button.click event and it works briefly with the picturebox.paint event before its wiped out. So I presume it will work with a timer event as well.But the question is how to to make it work without a button or a timer?

Mar 29, 2010Is there a way to see if a particular frame within the webbrowser control is finished loading? I know the functions webbrowser1.isbusyandebbrowser1.readystate=readystate_complete work for the main window, but it does not work when a frame is loading. It simply keeps saying the page is done loading. The event webbrowser1_documentcompleted sort of works, it registers when my frame has loaded, but it also registers when all the other frames are loaded. Is there a way to just check on the status of one particular frame.

Check When Webpage Loaded And Fill In Form Within Loop
May 31, 2011I am making this program that has a loop that goes to a website and fills in a form within the loop. But first, here is my code thus far

But what happens is that the loop runs a few times then it errors on the setattribute line (line 19 above) with
NullRefrenceException was unhandled
And I have a feeling that it is not loading the page fully before it tries to fill in the form.
VS 2008 Check If Form Is Loaded Before Starting Another Instance
May 19, 2009I have a Parent form that loads a child form and I only want to allow one instance of the child form. I have this on the button to open the form. Stepping through the code with the debugger it "appears" to work OK when the form is open (I say appears because nothing changes) but when the form is closed it doesn't open as I would expect. What am I missing?

The idea is when they click on a site all the details for the site are loaded and then a second thread sits and pings each device to see if its live. Im trying to do this in a seperate thread so if they click another site while its still pinging them it doesn't wait before it switches site. This all seems to be workling fine except if you click through the sites quickly, when you do that it will eventually come up with

User Can Change The Update Site With Out Building The Program Again With The New Site?
Oct 13, 2010When i publish my program i choose to let the application check for updates via a website and if their is one update automatically when the program starts. Is their a way were on the main user form i can make it so that the user can change the update site with out me building the program again with the new site. I want to do this becuase the site i use goes down alot so when i changed the update url no one was able to download the update for the new update server.

The app works fine in every detail when installed on the development computer. But, on the target computer when the command button is clicked an unhandled exception occurs which says: System.IO. This works fine on the development computer. Do I need a way to code this as a relative path? Label Staging Site To Prevent It From Being Used As If It Were The Production Site
May 18, 2012I'm being asked to maintain several internal-only web apps for my company. For testing, after making my changes, I've created some staging sites which make use of separate databases. As such, if my users were to mistakenly use this site as if it were the production site, they may enter important data and wonder where it "disappeared" to thinking it was the production server.
I'd like to create a big banner of some sort across the top of the staging site (which ONLY appears on the staging site) to remind my users that they are on the test site. I'd like recommendations on the best way to do this, with the following considerations:

Language: VB.NET 2.0

Dec 14, 2011I have two rich text boxes, and two buttons on my screen. The first button grabs HTML from a URL and then converts the HTML to XML which resides in rich text box 1.
The second button is to grab the XML from the rich text box1 and then parse it to grab all the input elements by their ID.
My issue is that my parser isn't doing anything. My guess is that I'm not quite getting the XML from the first rich text box.
What would be the best way to grab the XML from a rich text box load it into memory and then parse the XML to grab all the ID tags?

Mar 20, 2010I have a web service I am working on. Recently I made a whole bunch of changes and now, although I can successfully compile it, when I run it my break-points will not work. The red dot turns into a circle and floating the mouse over it reveals the message:
The breakpoint will no currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document.
I have NO idea what I changed to cause this to begin happening. One big change was to add a reference to a WSDL, but I really don't think that is the problem.[code]...

Sep 19, 2009I have a windows forms Application using DCOM to connect to another server in order to retrieve data from a database. The program works perfectly fine on my develeopment box both inside of and outside of the idea.However it throws an exception on my test box: System.Exception.... TYPE_E_CANTLOADLIBRARY. The error happens when accessing a property of on the the public DCOM classes. The property holds an instance of one of the private classes for the DCOM. I've compared the registries and all the relevant entries seem to be the same. When I compared the dumps I noticed that System.Config and System.XML werent loaded on the test machine, even though they are installed and appear to be in the GAC.

C# - Trace Not Working In A .NET DLL Loaded From VB6 EXE
