Code Is Missing But Program Still Does Its Function
May 21, 2012
I have a problem with my vb.net program. Some parts of the code dissapeard but i still can run the program normaly. Even if i add a new button it doesnt appear.I have a button that uploads some files to mysql database but then i double click that button a new sub appears with nothing in it..
I'm currently working on a project I've just received that is asp.net + vb.I have to add a gridview in one part of the page, but it simply won't let me set the datasource
I'm reading three bytes from a byte array. They are supposed to be the "Binary code of the e-card no". (e-card is a electronic card used for storing different information). Well, it works fine sometimes, and sometimes not.
I recently started learning how to use visual basic and whenever i try and make programs (aided by microsoft tutorials), it says in the error section: Sub Main missing from (my programs name).
I am trying to use the xml comments suggested (with VB in a ASP.net project in Visual Studio 2008).I want to give examples of how to use a class, for example, so I write [code]This is readable in the code itself, but the resulting help information in the Object Browser is unusable. The summary, parameters and returns stuff is OK,but the example code is all as one block, with a single space instead of the line endings.I know that most XML treats all whitespaces the same (space, line ending, etc.) but since <code> is described as being for multi-line code blocks, I expected it to respect line endings and indentation.Ideally it would colour-code the code as visual studio does, but the least it should do is respect space (similar to the HTML <pre> tag).Otherwise how is it useful for multi-line code blocks?
I've tried to incorporate this code in my app and can't figure out what the missing link is? Lotsa experimenting and head scratching later, I'm coming here to the forum for help. The dialog opens and allows me to select the file saved earlier, except the file doesn't open. I can't figure out the missing code which goes at the comment "insert code to read stream here." The code:

does it have something to do with StreamReader.IO ?
I am making a Visual Basic program that launches Halo CE, and two other programs at the same time. The two other applications load fine but when it tries to launch Halo CE an error windows comes up saying that there is missing files which there is not. I use "Process.Start("C:Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo Custom Edition/haloce.exe")". I have tried to copy and paste numerous files into the "Debug" folder from the Halo CE folder but there is one file that is demanded but is simply not on my computer. I would also not want to put programs files in the debug folder because I wish to publish this to "Halo Maps."
I'm running Visual Studio 2010 on a terminal server, and have been, with relatively few problems, for some time. This morning I fired up my PC and over the UK's long weekend, the following issue seems to have developed.I've got a bunch of projects (but not all of my projects, and not all of the projects in a given solution) complaining that a particular file (which does not exist on the computer) cannot be opened, and so those projects will not compile anymore. Here's the error:
Error 31 Unable to open module file'C:Users[username]AppDataLocalTemp2.NETFramework,Version=v4.0.AssemblyAttributes.vb': System Error &H80070003&
I could simply copy the file into that directory and be done with it, I'm pretty sure that will work,EDIT: Okay, now things have gotten to a whole new level of weird. I've rebooted the server, I get the same error message, only now the file it is asking for exists and can be opened in Visual Studio with no problems. another part of the IDE still insists that it's unable to open the module file.
EDIT 2: Can't delete the file because it claims to be open in another program, but I've logged off and logged on again, and there shouldn't be anything accessing it.
EDIT 3: Because there's a wall of comments below his answer, I'll mention here that Jared's suggestion to delete the SUO file for the solutions having the problem (not files specifically to do with any of the problem projects, strangely) was what solved this, eventually.
I am having a problem with the BackOrdered Function of my program. I can`t get it to say anything but 0 when I run the program. Another problem I am having is the input box pops up like 6 times and it`s only suppose to once. [Code]
This is my first time writeing a program and i am stuck. i am just looking for were i should go next. i can't figure out how to write in code for the days in the getDay function.
Write a program that computes the cost of a long-distance call. The cost of the call is determined according to the following rate schedule:
a. Any call started between 7:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, is billed at a rate of $0.30 per minute.
b. Any call started before 7:00 A.M. or after 9:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, is billed at a rate of $0.15 per minute.
c. Any call started on a Saturday or Sunday is billed at a rate of $0.10 per minute.
The inputs will consist of (1) the day of the week, (2) the start/end time of the call, and (3) the length of the call in minutes. The output will be the cost of the call. Input will come from the user and outputs will be displayed via the console window.
I have a vb6 program which shells and runs a Vb 2005 program, I would like to be able from that VB 2005 program run a function back in the original VB6 program which called it. Callback?
I have a program that has been running well under both Windows XP and Vista. Recently I tried installing the software on a Vista x64 machine and the program keeps crashing at runtime. I have tried running in Windows XP compatability mode and other solutions but nothign works. If I run it on the machine under Virtual PC using Windows XP I have no problems. The only two clues I have are these 1)One of the error messages I got when the program crashed said "missing dll file" and 2) the error log viewer shows that the error involves kernel32.dll This problem feels like it is way out of my league ont face value.
I recently installed visual studio 2010 and am using visual basic. The problem I am having is that some operators do not show up within the editor. For example the code line below test = 3 + 5 - 6 / 7 * 4
only displays
test 3 5 - 6 / 7 * 4
the = + operators are not visible although they are there since the program will work as intended....and if I open up the .vb file in notepad everything is there. It just won't display within Visual Studio.
I found a function in C++ that I would like to call in VB.NET, but I don't know how to do it. I was reading some forums and they said you had to create some sort of wrapper or something like that :8-0:This is the function I need to use, and it comes from microsoft's page here. Basically, it returns all the loaded DLLs for a given process ID.
I wanted to to something like this:Code:Dim myProcessId As String = '1234'Dim myModules As New List(Of String)myModules = getProcessModules(myProcessId)' ^ I know right now the C++ function doesn't return anything (it only prints) but I don't know C++ so I'll have to try to change that later.
Code:#include <windows.h>#include <tchar.h>#include <stdio.h>#include <psapi.h> void PrintModules(DWORD processID){ HMODULE hMods[1024]; HANDLE hProcess; DWORD cbNeeded; unsigned int i; //Get a list of all the modules in this process. hProcess = OpenProcess( PROCESS_QUERY_INFORMATION

don't use ACCESS, EXCEL, or a TEXT FILE as a database. If you want your program to use a "local database", without any of the hassle of setting up a MS SQL or MySQL server, just click this link: >>> SQLite <<< Seriously.
I'm wondering if it is possible to write the code for the button so that, when pressed by the user, it would add whatever text is in the text box to the list box and change the code of the form load to add that text to the pre-existing listbox.items.add's that are in the code of the form load.
I remember that C# editor has a powerful option that when we are developing in code and type a new method (operation) name for a class, we can create its body by clicking on ALT+Shift+F10 and immediately, it will be created for it's own class.
i use this code many times on all my applications.but now i'm on windows 7 and changed the framework to 3.5 and the code does not do what it supose to do.If File.Exists(Application.StartupPath & "downloaded" & ListViewEx1.SelectedItems.Item(0).Text & "ar.exe") Then
In my project, there are 3 user controls; BasicContact, BasicDetail and ActionTime. They are in EditOrder.aspx page. There is "ReportDate" property (Date type) in BasicContact, RadioButtonList "rdl_Priority" (with integer value from "prio_id" field) in BasicDetail and "CheckDate" property in ActionTime. The ReportDate value is derived from txt_ReportDate and txt_ReportTime and CheckDate value is derived from txt_CheckDate and txt_CheckTime.
I have a function that is responsible for populating an SSRS report. The user presses a button and I go out and check to see if there is data. If no data, I provide a NO DATA message. If there is data I call the SSRS report which I would like to open in a new window.
<script type="text/javascript"> function openWindow(url) { document.forms[0].target = "_blank"; } </script>
I have a MustInherit class with some MustOveride Methods in it. When i inherit form that class, I automatically get the MustOveride Methods or properties. My question is, I want to be able, to inherit from a class, get my MustOveride functions and methods, but then with some code already in it. I've once seen a .net class that did it, when I inherited from that class, I got the methods, with some comments in it.
