Mar 14, 2011I downloaded VB because I was instructed to do so in order to be able to convert powerpoint files to smart notebook files.unfortunately, this does not seem to do the trick.

Jun 22, 2010how to set a powerpoint presentation as the powerpoint.application.activepresentation? In the program below, when the form is loading, it will open 2 powerpoint files (Test1.ppt and Test2.ppt). After Test2.ppt is opened, it will be the activepresentation because it is opened last.What I am trying to do is when I press button1, it will set Test1.ppt as activepresentation so that when I press button4, it will show me "C:Test1.ppt".The same also goes to button2 making Test2.ppt as activepresentation..But what I get is, no matter how many times i press button1, Test2.ppt is always the activepresentation.[code]

May 11, 2011I'm trying to copy a Range from Excel and Paste the information in powerpoint in either the HTML or the default format, however, I am having some difficulties. I am able to get the code to work for pasting the Range as an OLE Object but nothing else. The problem with doing this is that having the embedded excel documents in the powerpoint makes the file extremely large and unstable. I just need to be able to paste the information without the embedded information where it is editable (so, not as a bitmap or picture).

Resolution On Dell Notebook?
Apr 26, 2012My application runs perfectly on a desktop PC running Win XP. When I install onto a Dell notebook running Win7, the controls are on top of each other and in the wrong places. The resolution is set to 1024 x 768 pixels on both machines.Also how can I ensure that the controls stretch to fill the screen regardless of the selected resolution?

VS 2010 : Make A Little App That Displays The Battery Life Of A Notebook - Timer Not Refreshing?
Nov 19, 2011I'm trying to make a little app that displays the battery life of a notebook, and also whether it is charging or not.I've got it displaying the battery percentage and if it is running via the cable or battery alone.My problem is that I have a timer constantly ticking to grab the latest information as to whether it is still chraging, what the battery % is like, however for some reason when it first runs it get's the info but then that's it, it won't refresh the info in real time. I'm confused because the battery can deplete but the program only displays what info it got when it was first ran but if I unplug the power cord or plug it back in it refreshes that info straight away. My code is:

The bit I've highlighted in red in my code won't work either, basically I've shaped the two labels to look like a crude battery shape and label2's function is to represent the nobly bit at the top of the battery and I wan't that to change to Lime when the battery is 100%.why it won't refresh the graphical output to the screen?

Thus changing Active: {0} to Active: {1} causes an error that the Try Catch doesn't catch (this for...next is in a try catch).I assumed that the stuff inside the quotes was just text and could be changed to anything? Why doesn't the try catch catch it?Doesn't read a USB external drive when attached.i changed {0} to {1} and it crashes.

This is Q2 for today, as I seem to be coming up with all these little glitches I can't figure out!!I have a webcontrol, which I use to show a PowerPoint presentation - by using webctl.navigate("c:MyPresentation.ppt").This works perfectly, and my presentation shows exactly as desired.However, sometimes, when I close my application, the Powerpnt.exe process is left running.Is there any way of programatically forcing this to close if it has been left open, or am I not disposing of something I should (I can't find anything along these lines when running powerpoint through a web control)?

Jan 16, 2009I have a little problem with an application I am developing. My application is supposed to save a powerpoint slideshow, which I have finish coding. The code is as follows,

However, upon click the button which calls these codes, the powerpoint slideshow that is saved does not end when it is in slideshow mode. For eg, there is 5 slides, after reaching the 5th slide, it returns back to the 1st slide and repeats over and over again. I'll have to press the ESC key to end the slide show. Is there anyway to prevent this? Perhaps I'm missing a statement to make the ending slide the last side?

(i didnt write any code additional to template generated by vs2008 ) i tried to debug it with F11 hit(step into) ; vstudio asks me to locate a source file named 17d14f5c-a337-4978-8281-53493378c1071.vb. i dont know what this file is; same problem does not occur if i choose C# project.

I have developed an application in vb.net and wondering if it is possible to allow users to log on to this application using smart card Authentication.I want to keep the authentication simple like instead of allowing user to enter username and password to open the application, i would want the application to ask for example, "Pls insert your Login-Card" and get the info from the card to authenticate the user.I have no clue for how to begin. Is it too complicated to integrate it in the .net application.
