View 2 RepliesWorking on a personal project.Originally had the file loaded had the program read a number and had trouble converting that number of total seconds into a TimeSpan.Finally got it working with a simple code, after COUNTLESS tried of different code.[code]Now I'm stuck converting that Timespan (in the DD:HH:MM:SS format) back to a integer of total seconds.Tried a bunch of codes I could think of but it was time that I had a fresh idea from other people.

I tried to parse string to TimeSpan like the following :

It threw error like this:

I have a database in mysql. The column in table is of datatype time(0)
Similarly I have a control datetimepicker in vb.net I have assigned format property as custom to the control and the CustomFormat property as HH:mm:ss tt so that it can just provide the time. I dont want the date to be in it.

View 2 RepliesI have a requirement that regardless of the start and dates that I need to loop through that timespan and calculate figures at the month level. I cannot seem to figure it out, and maybe it is not possible, but I would like to do something like:
FOREACH Month As TimeSpan in ContractRange.Months
Do Calculations (Month.Start, Month.End)
NEXT
Is this possible or do I need to calculate the number of months, and just iterate through the amount of months and calculate the start/end of that month based on my index?

I have made calculator in visual basic that can calculate the costs of products. You first select the type of product. Then you insert the dimensions. After that it calculates de costs. The type op products are stored in a Access database. In this database is stored a formula as a string. The problem is that i can't caculate the selected string with the formula and the given dimensions.

However, from what I have seen I can only insert and object, such as a DataRow, into the combobox. I've got a richtextbox but want to check the keypresses before they come in the textbox. So I thought of using the KeyPress event from the form, checking that key and than writing it to the richtextbox with the Text property.But the KeyChar is a char while the Text property expects a string, and when I convert the KeyChar to a string(ToString) it gives a error.Does anyone know how to fix this or has anyone another idea for checking the presses before writing them?

We are supposed to be taking information from 5 different sections of a form and store them into an array and then call upon them later. We have Name, Address, City,State, and Zip.
