Sep 10, 2008I'm in the process of trying to create a class that will allow me to create windows shortcut; Im using the following PDF file that gives me the shortcut file structure.
Ive been able to successfully load a shortcut file and parse its Lnk File Structure but now Im on the Shell Item ID List structure but I cannot find the Structure of the ITEMIDLIST anywhere
Furthermore I know I could use the Windows script object, but this is a dependency Im trying to avoid if I can, hence writing my own Shortcut class.

Jul 28, 2010I am busy with a Windows Forms application.The purpose of the application is to convert Excel documents to HTML format so that they can be published to a website.I have most of the code finished and the application is looking really good.I have although encountered a problem. On the Form I have created an Export, File and Edit button.With the edit button I would like the user to be able to select whether they would like to save the 1st,2nd,3rd sheet and so forth.
I would like to create a window/Form within the edit button that would say something like "select excel sheet" along with a save button where the required sheet number could be saved or selected as a standard save procedure everytime.I know that I need to do this with the settings.settings control. I have tried numerous ideas up until now but it continues to baffle me.

Close Button On Word Processor For Class
Mar 14, 2011I'm creating a simple word processor for class but I'm having some trouble on the close button. The Close button is supposed to close the file that the user is working on but not the word processor itself. How would I go about closing the document that the user is working on?
Here is what I have so far:

This gives me an error message "Option Strict On disallows implicit conversions from 'Object' to 'Integer'." When I'm not using Option Strict On the code seems to work but VS gives me a warning message, "Variable 'intfile' is used before it has been assigned a value. A null reference exception could result at runtime. I'm not sure what value to assign the 'intfile' Object.

Oct 16, 2010I created this. This is a lesson in a class I'm takingWhat the program is trying to do is this; If the radio button for member is selected and they are under 65 they pay $10. If they are a member and 65 or over, they pay $5. If they are not a member the fee is then $20. There are 4 radio buttons: Member, Non Member, Under 65 and 65 and Over. The code below is what I had in there. VS shows no errors and the thing runs, but it produces incorrect results every time (e.g. Non Member radio with Over 65 radio answers $10).
