I would like to alter the value of the field in the table to show the text as bold i.e. <strong>
To have the text displayed as highlighted i.e. bold, I manually modified the text inside the field of the table to show
<strong>hello</strong>
Is this ok? It does not seem to work because in the label control I see: <strong>hello</strong>

First of all I have created a DataSet, BindingSource and Table Adapter in the forms Design view, but I am having from there. Under the properties of each text box I have set the DataBindings (Text) to the field in the table under the forms instance and DataSet rather than the Projects Data Sources. I am very rusty at Visual Studio 2005 and that is all I have to work with.

Jan 16, 2009I have been trying to figure out how to take text i have in a SQL text field and create the correct document from it. Here is the info i have in SQL: MIMEType is a string field that contains one of the following "application/pdf", "application/msword", "application/vnd.ms-excel" or a few others. DocumentBody is a text field that looks like "0M8R4KGxGuEPgADAP7/CQA" this continues for quite a bit. FileName is a string field that contains the original file name such as "test.doc" or "test.pdf"
I have tried using the System.IO.FileStream and System.IO.StreamWriter but in the document it actually writes the text that is desplayed in DocumentBody. I assume I am missing some way to decode this using the MIMEType but i just can not seem to find it.

Member Information
DVD Information
Borrow DVDs
What I would like to do is when I am viewing a member's details, if I click a button 'Borrow DVD for Member', the member's ID number transfers over to the Borrow DVDs table in the Member ID which also would hold some information from the DVD Information table, but I'm sure if i can figure out how to do this firstly, I will be able to apply the same rule and work it out myself.I have been trying to use a query statement like;
INSERT INTO [Borrow DVDs].[Member ID] [IN goodstuffvideos.mdb]
SELECT [Member Information].[Member ID]
FROM [Member Information]
but that has been coming up with error codes and completely not working.
Borrow DVDs table fields are: Borrow ID, Member ID, DVD ID Number, Hiring Fee, Borrowing Limit?

The error coming up is; Error in INSERT statement. Unable to parse query text.And under that it says The query cannot be represented graphically in the Diagram and Criteria Pane.

Mar 23, 2010I'm looking to create a simple program with 1 text field, 1 button, and an area to display what is happening and if there were any errors.My goal is to be able to delete user profiles stored on a network drive by simply putting in the users ID and hitting the button.I'll use my own id as an example:If I put mdesieno in the txt box and hit the button, I'll need the button to map to the network drive and delete mdesieno.corp and mdesieno.v2 I would like the bottom half of the window to display text like:

To me this seems pretty simple, but as I said, I do not know VB yet. Is there code out there that is already written to do something like this?

Sep 15, 2010When I create a table adapter over a table in my database and am attepting to fill a datagrid, I can order the data (in the sql generated by fill,getdata) by any of the numeric fields in the tabel and it works fine. However, if I bring up the tableadapter, right click on fill,getdata (this brings up the tableAdapter Configuration Wizard), click on Query Builder...click on Sort Order for a ntext field and select 1 and then click on OK with no other Sort order selected I get the following:

Interface And Graphics :: Place Controls In ASP.Net Table For Formatting Purposes?
Aug 5, 2010I am using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express and making a Webform. I want to arrange my labels and drop down listboxes in a table to keep them together on the form in a neatly manner. If I use the 'ToolBox' on the side and drag a HTML table to the workspace I get a nicely formatted table with 3 rows and 3 columns. And I can drag and drop my labels/listboxes into these columns and all is fine and good.
If I use the 'ToolBox' and drag a ASP.Net table to the workspace it starts as just a boarder with '###' inside of it, which I cannot drap and drop controls into. I'm not sure how to place controls into it. I figured out that you can add the Rows - then Columns in the properties window, but that just adds more cells which have the '###' in them. I can make it work with the HTML table, but I just want to know if I can do the same with the ASP.net table.

something like:
SELECT userName
FROM userTable
WHERE (userLogged = 'ON')
how can I display the selected username in a textbox?
BTW the userLogged indicates wether the user is logged in or not
if the user is logged in then the userLogged will be changed to "ON"
if the user is not logged in it will be "OFF"
I know it's not that practical but I'm still practicing.

I now have a need to allow them to execute a Function and I'd like to treat the function like I have my reports and queries by listing it in a table with a 'friendly user title' attached to it and then when the code executes, it would reference the name of the function that I have in another field of that same record. I can't seem to figure out how I can get VB to understand and treat the value in a field as the name of a function and execute it.
