I am generating tables and writing them to word on the fly. I do not know how many tables there will be each time i write the data to word and the problem I am having is the second table is written inside the first cell of my first table. If there was a third table it is put inside the first cell of my second table. Is there a way to move the cursor out of the table? I have tried creating a new range with each table also but the same thing happens.I have also tried things like tbl.Range.InsertParagraphAfter()The closest I came was using the Relocate method, but this only worked for two tables.
Basically in visual basic 6 I could access word tables in existing templates with the code owordactivedoc.tables(1).select() where owordactivedoc refers to the active word document and tables(1) refers to the first table in the template.Trying the same code in VB 2003 just leads to errors. Secondly how do I access bookmarks or alternatively word variables.Furthermore how do one deploy web.services. For example the current program I am building is for another computer. Simply copying the web service to Inetpubwwwroot dont work because it is not picked up by the Internet Information Services program. I have to create the web service in vb2003 on the other computer change msconfig manually. Copy and paste the existing service vb file in the created folder replacing the empty vb file.
I am rewriting an application written in VB6 in VB2008.I need to beable to Create and Delete Tables from the Database at run time.I have succefully added tables to the database but can not figure out how to delete them.I'm sure I just overlooked something but have been unable to find any info on it.
A suite of apps will be using various tables out of the same sql server database.Regardless of which app is being used, the database structure must stay current. (ie:contain all the tables/fields to run any/all of the apps)So, when the user starts any of the apps, it needs to check the database, for the existence of all the tables and fields it needs, then update if necessary.
I have a SQL Server database for which I have created a strongly-typed DataSet (using the DataSet Designer in Visual Studio 2008), so all the adapters and select commands and whatnot were created for me by the wizard.
It's a small database with largely static data, so I would like to pull the contents of this DB in its entirety into my application at startup, and then grab individual pieces of data as needed using LINQ. Rather than hard-code each adapter Fill call, I would like to see if there is a way to automate this (possibly via Reflection). [code]...
I have a dynamically created textbox that opens in Word.I am trying to give it one of the default styles in Word 2010 ("Colored Fill, White Outline - Accent 1)however I have not been able to find the code to do this.Below is what I have so far, which creates and offsets the textbox:
oDoc = oWord.Documents.Add Dim titleBanner As Word.Shape titleBanner =
I need to develop an application that can search through a book and list out all the pages and lines that contain a given keyword. For books that are split up in some other way, such as a bible which is split up by chapter and verse; they would be able to search for all verses that contain a certain keyword. Or alternatively, search within certain chapters and verses for a keyword. What format should I store the book into? Should it be stored into a SQL database? What format would be easiest for searching as opposed to easiest for storage?
I am dynamically generating a word file, and clicking the link opens the file save dialog and it says the document is a: Microsoft Word 97 - 2003 Document. What would I need to do to programmatically generate a 2007, 2010 word document.
Public Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles Me.Load 'build the content for the dynamic Word document 'in HTML alongwith some Office specific style properties.
I am trying to make an application that will take the information entered into the program and generate a quote sheet using Microsoft word. Right now I am having trouble creating tables in the word document. The user can choose to quote between 1 to 4 different products. If 1 product is quoted, then it will create a 6x3 table. If 2 products are quoted, then it will create a 6x5 table with the 3rd column separating the 2 products. If 3 or 4 products are quoted then it will create another table under the first table and follow the same rules as the first table. The program works perfectly if I quote 3 or 4 products but when I try to quote 1 or 2 products then it results in an error.
Dim QuoteNumber As String Dim RowsNeeded As Integer QuoteNumber = NumberOfProducts.Text
I am working on a program which makes tables in MS WORD. But there are many parameters that should be asked. Its so embarrassing to ask all of them with inputbox while codes are working. I made forms for each tables which will be created. While codes are working, when it is the time to create table, form appears and user inputs the datas and press OK button and table is build according to these datas in MS Word. Does anyone has an idea ?
i'm currently working on building a program that will take a MS Access database system produced by my company and create a VB.Net project with all the forms in it (obviously the code should be manually done, but to save time the forms and controls can be produced automatically).I have tried Googling and seem not to be able to find anything about this (which probably means I wasn't searching with the right keywords), I was wondering whether anyone knows any good resources on how to create the VB.Net project programmatically as I already know how to do all the access stuff.
i have the following code that can create a DSN to SQL server programatically from vb.net
Imports Microsoft.Win32 Imports System.Text Public Class Form1
Private Declare Function SQLConfigDatasource Lib "ODBCCP32.DLL" (ByVal hwndParent As Integer, ByVal fRequest As Integer, ByVal lpszDriver As String, ByVal lpszAttributes As String) As Integer Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
I have a project working on at work, it involves creating an invoice for each client and attaching that invoice to an email and sending it out. I chose to use XML for the data manipulations. I could have easily gone with a access file or a sqlCe db, but that would cause my data to be in a proprietary format; this is what i am running from. Furthermore, I have no experience with XML data and i thought here would be a good place to start.
I am reading the data for the invoices from a text file that will always be in a specific format each time it is produce. Information from this text file is stored in a generic list of a Class name Invoice.
The area where i am having the problem is where after collecting the data i now need to save it in an XML format. here is what i have so for
'Filename: cInvoice 'Written by: Curtis Jackson 'Written on: May 20, 2009
you see where i have function "writeNewInvoiceData" this is where i am stucked. I just don't know how to create this XML file.
I have an unbound DataGridView control where I have defined the columns at design time.Currently to add a new row I use a like this:
gridname.row.add(value1, value2, value3, value4)
This offends my sense of good programming because if I add a column to the grid or change the order of the columns then I need to alter the line above. What I want to do is to create a new datagridviewrow complete with columns and then populate the values like so:
Just like I do when editing an existing row in the grid.I thought I could do the following:
Dim dr as New DataGridViewRow dr = MyGrid.RowTemplate
I thought this would give me a new row complete with cells but no values. Appartently this is the wrong property. Is there a property that will give me a blank row, but with the cell names/types that have already been defined in the grid defined in the row?Yes, I know I can take an existing row and just clear the values but when this program load, there are not always existing rows.don't tell me I am going to have to add the columns myself. dr.cell.add(cell definition)
I am able to insert a textbox into a Word document using the below code:
Dim opProcedures As Word.Shape opProcedures = oDoc.Shapes.AddTextbox(Microsoft.Office.Core.MsoTextOrientation.msoTextOrientationHorizontal, 0, 0, 456.75, 24.75) opProcedures.TextFrame.TextRange.Text = "Operational Procedures"
This adds a textbox to the first page of the document however even when I change the first (top) parameter I am unable to move the textbox onto the second page (only lower down onto the 1st page, any greater values than the height of the first page an it disappears).
How can I get the textbox to appear on the 2nd page of the document?
When I create a form using only one table in a database this works fine. However when I create a form that uses at least two tables I am getting an error on my ReceiptsAdapter (or my SQLDataAdapter). It's saying that I am using the incorrect syntax and need the keyword "From." I am assuming that I am getting this error because I am using multiple tables in my SQLCommand statement.
Imports System.Data Imports System.Data.SqlClient Public Class Receipts
The following code creates a table in a mdb file.Dim tblName As String = Trim(Me.txbTblName.Text)
Dim Source = Trim(Me.txbLoadDB.Text) Dim Pass = Trim(Me.txbPassDB.Text) 'Define the connectors Dim oConn As OleDbConnection
I would like the table name be variable based on the textbox text but the following change creates a syntax error. Why is that?oQuery = "CREATE TABLE '" & tblName & "' ( ID Counter,Name TEXT(50) NOT NULL,PRIMARY KEY(ID) )"
I have 3 tables: Customer, OrderHeader and OrderDetail. Customer and OrderHeader joined by CustomerId, OrderHeader and OrderDetail joined by OrderId.how to create an xml file that combines these 3 tables together having the following structure using ADO.net?
I have the following code that attempts to create a picturebox at a set of coordinates, then move to another set of coordinates and create another one. I have two questions, first, how do you programmatically create each picturebox with a different name than the last one. I've attempted to address this in my code but not sure if it's right. Second, I'm getting an error when running the code: "controls created on one thread cannot be parented to a control on another thread" - how do i get around this?
I have a panel that is a set size and has its Autoscroll property set to True.I am parsing text files and then adding them to the panel. I'm extracting specific lines and then adding them to labels and text boxes that are in the panel. When my app runs, it can parse anywhere from 0-10 files at a time.If there are no files to parse, I don't want any controls in the panel. I'll be creating the controls based on how many text files I have. For each text file, I'll have 3 controls.
I'll count the text files before I parse them, and insert the controls into the panel. The problem is that I don't know how to place the controls based on the location of the panel/form. I know the panel will always have a permanent spot, but I won't know if the location parameters of the panel have changed because I won't know how many controls there will be before the app parses the files.
However, I will know the size of the controls that I'm inserting. So, with all of that, is there a way to insert the controls inside of the panel, and then based on that information, insert the others?
I'm almost ascertain there's a better way to do this but for right now I'll go with this. This is using WinForms, NOT on a webpage.
In Visual Basic 2010, I would like to create a form that uses a datagrid view pulling rows from a temporary table made at run time. When the "Submit" button of that form is clicked, the rows from the temporary table will be copied into the regular table. (This is being done as there is no ID# available until AFTER the form is submitted. The ID# is needed because the rows made in the temporary, as well as the entire form, will be associated with THAT number.)
how can I dynamically create a temporary table in MSAccess OR how can I use a datagrid without associating it with a table?
I have a document that has bookmarked tables I create a new document using this document as a template I then loop through the tables and cut them off to the clipboard I would like to save each of these tables as a variable or value and paste them back in a user definied order This could be like Table1,Table7,Table1,Table2,Table4 Or any combination required I have looked at Clipboard.SetData and GetData but just cannot seem to store the tables I can do text, and images of pictures but cannot seem to get tables working?
The application I support is creating an amalgamted Word document by copying couple of Word documents in one document right after each other. The problem is the format of the some of the fields of the document that gets appended is changed in amalgamated document while the amalgamated document is the copy of AppendDocument (imagine if we have one document to copy in the amalgamated document)
i am creating a booking system for my A2 project but i cant create tables or field in the database and enter information in them. I have created a ms access database in vb but after that im stuck. The database must be created in vb programatically as i get more marks for complex code.
I was reading from a book, and there's a way of creating database and accessing its tables using tools available in IDE. i-e DataSet, BindingSource, TableAdapter, BindingNavigator. Is this the correct way of using database or through the code??
I'm trying to write an application that will allow a non-administrator user to create virtual directories in IIS6. I've tried numerous different ways of impersonating a administrative account but nothing seems to work to create the virtual directory.
Here's some of what I've tried: dim sDirPath as string = "IIS://remotehost/W3svc/1/root" Dim de As DirectoryEntry = New DirectoryEntry() de.Path = sDirPath de.AuthenticationType = AuthenticationTypes.Secure de.Username = tbxUsername.Text [Code] .....
what is the correct way to impersonate another user in winforms application that will allow me to create the virtual directory without the user that's running the application being an administrator on the web server? I know this can be done, IIS manager allows you to use "connect as" checkbox to do it.
