Creating A Link From The Control In One Form To The Entire Nother Form?
Apr 12, 2009
I have another question (and anticipate that I will have about two more before I'm done with my class project). Here is my issue (and I'll copy and paste my code for clarification). I need to link up the control from the form on either side of the current form that I'm working on so that if I click on the buttons that I'm titling previous and next that I can click on the proper button and either go directly to the previous form or the next form. I was successful in doing this for two earlier forms on this project (with some direction from a couple of helpful people on this forum before), but for some reason, no matter what I details I use the controls do not connect to the previous and next forms.

Option Strict On
Option Infer Off

I've got a VB.Net form application that dynamically loads user controls based on which navigation link the user clicks on. I'd like to make it easier to use at Design time by putting a link of some sort to open the User Control at design time. The link would go onto the form in the space where the User Control will be going. This just saves a little time from having to browse through the files to open the correct file.

I'm trying to create a windows user control project that has a textbox placed on it.I want the textbox to fill the user control window.I've built the control and added it to another project, but it isn't behaving the way I want it too. When I drag and drop the control from the toolbox onto a windows form and try to resize it, because the textbox.multiline property has been set to True, the Textbox resizes horizontaly and not vertically (just like normal textboxes do) however the underlying user control window resizes which is undisireable. How can I get the user control window to stop doing this.

I need to disable every control on my Form so that the user can not click or press any key that will change values of listboxes and other controls on the form. I need to be able to lock the whole Form like this because as part of the project I have to print the form 3times with 3 different colors and the only way I've been able to get it to work is with a timer. So for about 3 seconds the form is changing colors and printing itself, so in between that time the user could accidantely click something and change a value on the form when all three prints should be of the same form, only difference is in the color.I can't use disable as that will make all the controls look faded and messed up, I need a clean way to prevent anything from being changed.

I'm trying to make my form nearly transparent when the mouse is not inside the form by changing the opacity.I'm having trouble because if the mouse is moved quickly, I can't get its position accurately. when the mouse is moved into a control, it's considered to have left the form. Is there an easy way to do this that I might be missing?

I am doing a project which required the website application that I have created to be linking to the window form. As what I know is in the webform to webform, the command is "response.redirect("")" whereas for the window form to window form is "me.show form1.hide". So that is what I know.

I have a user who wants to print the form that is on the screen(the entire form not just the data) on the click of a button, is there a quick and easy way to capture it and print it. Kind of like a screen shot? I suggested that they could just do alt/printscreen and capture the form that way and print it but they want it all to be done from a print button for them.

I have a program and wish to generalise its appearance at startup on different machines. This worked OK until I moved it onto a Windows 7 unit with a 22" screen. The front page covers less than 2/3 of the screen. I know I've asked the system for 'working area' but could not find a reference to the entire screen which other applications seem able to use. How can I catch up with them? The code is from VB in VS2005. Is this my limitation?

My form contains lots and lots regular expression and other things in one button. whch when pressed takes some time to process.. so the form kind of gets stucked while the processing is bieng done.is there any coding for which it diables the entire form until the process is completed? like disabling the entire form and showing a text "please wait ... processing data" so user can not use other buttons or features at the same time or it might get crashed.

how I would be able to print the entire portion of the screen which the form occupies,Basically, my problem lies in that the way I print now will properly print the form's buttons/labels/textboxes etc. But it will not print the WebComponent AxChartspace that I have added to it. So basically my form is partially blank.

I am more used to programming in the aspx.net language so I am a little confused here.I made a form, I got how to do all the buttons and everything and I know to make them execute my desired commands. However I can't figure out how to have a certain button redirect me to another form. In aspx.net you have just say Response.Redirect but it doesn't work with this?

I have a form called FrmPracDetails, which has details of practices and each practice has a unique prac_no populated on the form in the text box called TxtPracNo.Now, I have another form called FrmPayHistory. This form has a datagrid called DgvPayHistory, which is loaded with all the payment history of all practices. It has also a field called prac_no and stores the unique prac_no. What I want to do is, when a user is in FrmPracDetails, lets say prac_no 1155, then you open the FrmPayHistory. Only the payment history of that respective prac_no should be seen. Presently, it brings all the practices and their payment history. I have added a textbox (TextBox1) in the FrmPayHistory which links and displays the prac_no from FrmPracDetails with the following code; [code]

I found the following VB NET code:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim textbox1 As New TextBox

When this row GroupBox1.Controls.Add(textbox1) and GroupBox control are being deleted from Form, the TextBox isn't created on the Form after the event is fired.

I've created the beginnings of my new web application, but I am often coming up against the issue that ASP.NET renames elements IDs or in the case of form fields, their names.I have a form which is basically a sales system. It is essentially made up of two User Controls, one is a form for Customer Details (name, address etc) and the second is a form for the customer's purchases, it consists of a number lines dynamically created by Javascript created as you list the items the customer is purchasing. Both these sections are User Controls because they are to be used for other areas of the system where this data will need to be recalled/re-entered.When the USer Control is loaded, the field which contains the Customers' Name is renamed "m$mainContent$customerForm$name" I understand where this comes from, "m" is the ID of my Master Page, "mainContent" is the main Content Placeholder and "customerForm" is the name of the User Control.
In fact, in my case, this will always remain the same on all forms, so it is relative easy to overcome... but... suppose it wasn'tI can see there are ways I could deal with this with Javascript, but the form doesn't need an AJAX submit, a normal Post will do fine for this, so when I open up the recieving page I want to call Request.Form("name")% to save the customer's name into the database, but of course I really need Request.Form("m$mainContent$customerForm $name")%How would I dynamically extract those prefixes from the posting form to ensure that if I rename anything or use it in a different scenario, the problem will not break it?I am using .NET 2.0, so can't use Static Client.
