I have three buttons and I have a panel with the details bound to the database (not a datagridview, but the other option that you can drag onto the form: "details")
When the user presses button 1 I want the row with "ID 1" to be displaied in the details. Likewise for buttons two and three. (The user will later be able to edit the names and save the changes, so this is why I want to use ID as the selector)
I have been looking at things like "selected key" and "selectedindex" but I can seem to find a way to populate the details. I tried to make a query serach but it's not working (i think beacuse ID is the identity seed?)
* I added the picture to try and explain better what I am trying to do. the part in the middle is bound to my database. It shows my database in in "details" form, not sure if it has a special title.. the others are obviously buttons. I want the middle parts to show the selected row. Using the navigator bar above I can type 3, hit enter, and it will show me row 3.. I want to emulate this idea but using the buttons.

I have a SQL Server database with a Table that has an image varbyte(max) field that I am using to store images. The issue is that when I am trying to insert an image in the field I need to .endEdit the dataSource before the assignment and again afer. If I don't do it before then nothing is stored. This of course only happens with the image, all other fields are updated without need to .endEdit.

When an image name is clicked it shows the image and imagename in a picturebox and textbox respectively. When no image is selected in the listbox, a new record can be inserted by browsing a new image in the picturebox by an openfiledialog, writing the imagename in the textbox and pressing the OK button. When an image is already selected, the record can be updated by pressing the same OK button. The data is saved into MSSQL Server 2005. Corresponding table fields are Keycode int autono, logoname nvarchar(50), logo image.Now the problem, when I insert a new data with an image everything goes fine but whenever I try to update an existing data with an image it throws an exception- 'A generic error occurred in GDI+.' at the following line- 'pic.Image.Save(ms, pic.Image.RawFormat)'. Surprisingly when I update an existing data without any image in the picturebox no exception is generated. I have crossed checked it and seems that the problem is just at one point- 'Updating the image from the picturebox'. Now here is the problem: If the database returns the image name but the image cannot be found in the path specified, the app crashes. Is there a way to write an If statement to check if the image file exists in the directory specified?

I have a database and I'm storing images in it along with a person's name, and other attributes. I've databound my listview with a stored procedure. I want to know how I can display an icon on a row depending on if the record for that row has a picture or not for the person...I'm not sure how to accomplish this however with the templates in asp.net

When I load images using openfiledialog I need to store a backup copy of the images to the other folder using the same filename and with the same extension.So how do i do that as in the below mentioned code I am able to copy only one image and I have given random string for that image.But I don't need that.I want to copy with the same filename and with the same extension.And if I have the same filename it should overwrite it but not with a different name and extension.[code]

View 2 RepliesI am attempting to create a small script to help me build a photo inventory for a few thousand widgets. Each widget has a unique barcode. I'm working on a program to let me take a picture of the widget, then scan the barcode and use the barcode value as the name of the photo file (barcode scanner inputs text string wherever curser is positioned). Right now I have a script, which I put together from a sample available online, which lets me capture an image (.bmp) using a webcam, then it lets me save that file, using traditional Windows saving method (opens an explorer to select the location and type in the file name). It works, but I want it to work a little quicker, less clicks.

Quick query...I'm trying to scan a long string and return any values that occur between the tags <FileName> and </FileName> I've got a bit of code here to use regular expressions to return the position of the occurunces of both substrings..Just wanted to find out if there is any way to scan for both substrings within one loop (as im currently doing 2, one for the first substring and one for the 2nd) so I can use something along these lines:

to msg box the value between the substrings...either that or another approach to return the value between the 2 substrings (it can be of variable length)
