Add Event Handler To Dynamic Dropdownlist
Jan 17, 2011I have a page that contains dynamically generated Dropdown List controls and I want thant the dynamic dropdown list perform an AutoPostback to fill some other field using the value selected.[code]Control is correctly filled and rendered on ASP page but, after selecting a value, the page is reloaded (AutoPostBack is called) but the control is not diplayed and the sub is not called. I put a breakpoint into the ChangeValue sub but anything happens.I read on some post that handler for the first DropDownList is not necessary but, how is it possible to tell DropDownList to call my sub after changevalue?

Jul 29, 2011I've created some dynamic controls on page load and added an event handler to handle the click event of a dynamic link button. Within the sub of the click event handler, I need to reference some other (non-dynamic) controls on the page and change their value. However, I get a null reference exception - object not set to an instance of an object - each time I try to reference a control on the page (in this case label1). What am I doing wrong in creating these dynamic controls or with my event handler?

Event Handler Is Not Getting Called After Click?
Oct 12, 2010What is an "EASI" LinkButton? Why don't you just use an ASP.NET LinkButton? Try modifying your JavaScript method so that it returns "true" if you want the postback to occur...and "false" if you want it to stop. Then change the LinkButton to so that it "returns" the value that is returned by the JavaScript method... This should stop the postback from occurring (but then again I've nevers een an EASI LinkButton before.......)

Sep 7, 2010Basically, I have about 5 forms. 1 of these forms is the main program screen. I need to be able to use select case to navigate to the other forms, however I am unsure how to do this. I thought about using multiple buttons to each form using select case, but did not know how to implement this with the click event handlers for each button?

May 7, 2009I have 2 listboxes on a form. Each listbox has a few items. As you know, I am able to have 1 item selected from each listbox, therefore making it 2 selected items from different listboxes.

Handling More Than One Radio Button With Same Event Handler
Feb 15, 2010Reading about VB .NET I found out that now it is possible to handle more than one control with the same event handler. What I want is to specify what my Radio buttons will have to do, using a single sub instead of using a sub for each of them. However I am still far from achieving that. I am using something like that:

I bet 100 $ that it's something that I don't do it right . Unfortunately I can't get that money. Would it be the same if use the Click event instead of the CheckedChanged ?
Using An Event Handler At Runtime To Control A Button?
May 25, 2012During the process of my program I am creating several different buttons depending on what file the user selects. I have been able to create these buttons and I would like to set up the event handler so when the user selects one of these buttons it pops up a message box that shows the user the name of the button they just clicked on. The message box isn't the goal of what I would like to do with it but If I could get that to work I would be able to alter the code to get it to work the way I want it to.
Below is my code that I currently have. I don't have the event handler doing anything at this time as I can't seem to get it to work I am still playing around with it.

Mar 23, 2009I have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

Dec 1, 2010I want to create a server control that inherits System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button but gives it special capability, now what do i mean? i want my button to be a confiorm button that will work like so:
Renders to the page as a button of lets say cancel after the user clicks it i want to catch the click event (within the server control) and now after the click makeing the button not visible and makeing some kind of content placeholder (that will render from the server control) visible. that content place holder will have 2 buttons inside of it: yes and cancel. I want the programmer that adds this control to be able to register a function to the click event of the yes button. and the second cancel confirmation button should make the first button appear agian. (i know how to do this all in the client side but this time i need it all as server events)
My question is this: how do i catch the click event? i want it all to be handled inside the server control itself. so a programmer that adds this control wont have to worry about anything but just needs to register to the click event of the "yes" button.
VS 2005 Text Box Leave Event And Button Click Event?

I have one checking in a textbox Leave event. I will go check whether this ID is already exist in DB or not. If exist, I will prompt MSG box to user.
When I click on Close button while focus is on textbox, this textbox Leave Event will trigger first before Button Click event.
So, the form remains open without trigger Button Click event.
how to prevent this textbox leave event or how can i catch/control this situation?
ASP.NET Dynamic Command Button Event Not Firing?
Nov 21, 2009I'm trying to create Command Buttons dynamically, but clicking the button in question doesn't seem to raise the corresponding CommandButton_Click event. I noticed that in the examples on SO a property is set for Button.OnCommand as well as the CommandName and CommandArgument but it isn't an option in intellisense.(code below without the OnCommand), is it accessed in some other way - if so, why do the examples I've found all show it as .OnCommand?
EDIT: Further to help, I have added the handler however the event is still not firing. The buttons reside in an UpdatePanel and are rebuilt on every postback (along with the handler). I have created a simplified example of what I'm doing which is shown below If the button event fires, it writes "EVENT FIRED" to the txtTestFired Textbox - suffice to say I have never seen that.
