In a ASP.NET app from a procedure IN a VB code file a dynamic control is called. The first problem may solve the second. In the following line of code I am getting an "end of statement expected" error at the following line.

I have wrote the last if statement on the bottom of the code that if the form is on the right side, then set the form from righttoleft. View 5 RepliesI created a typed dataset a day or so ago, then I added a whole bunch of tableadapter/tables with some relationships etc... suddenly out of nowhere it decides my dataset "is not defined". everywhere in my code where i use this dataset now has an error. I tried not to pull out my hair and do a Clean then Rebuild solution... out of nowhere it just refuses to generate code. Object reference not set to an instance of an Object. It would be nice if it was my object so i could find it but it's not.
Curiously I also lost the little database icon on the dataset in the solution explorer.I can still open it in the designer and preview my queries etc... it just wont make the code. it's driving me insane. anyone got a solution?

View 2 RepliesI am opening frmB (variable for FormB - the actual form) from frmA. From btn1 I open frmB like this:
frmB = New FormB()
frmB.Show()
From btn2 (frmB is already open) I bring frmB to the front from behind frmA:
FormB.Show()
FormB.BringToFront().
No problem so far. Now I need to pass an arg to frmB. This is where I am having the problem.
from btn1 (in frmA) I do this:
frmB = New FormB(myArg) '--pass myArg to constructor of FormB -- no problem here

then from btn2 -- this is where I have the problem

I tried placing myArg in FormB.Show(myArg) but that did not fix the problem. What is the correct way to pass myArg to FormB (frmB) in this scenario? Do I need to share FormB or frmB? How do I do this? "frmB" is frmA level variable.

I'm converting an application from VB6 to VB.NET, and am required to declare and initialise some controls in code (control arrays). I have it declared globally, so other forms can access the data stored within them, and then I try to manipulate them inside the Form_Load() sub:

I have created a custom user control (JCUserControl), and I am using it in the Main Window. And my Main Window has no codebehind. I have this in the JCUserControl codebehind:

Edit: Found out that I could just check if the radio buttons are loaded before doing whatever I want to do.

I have recently gotten my hands on a free, open-source IMAP connection API.So far, I have been successful in creating a connection to one of my accounts.Where I'm getting stuck is retrieving folders and/or emails from those folders.Does there happen to be anyone here that is familiar with this API, or even Gmail (particularly the folder structure for IMAP)?

When I run that code, I get an error that states:System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not sent to an instance of an object. (The bold line in the above code).
Now, I'm not sure exactly what that means. Does that mean it tried to access the server and "INBOX" doesn't exist so it gets returned a NULL value? Or is it possibly the coding itself?Maybe the Gmail folder system is weird due to the fact they use labels (even though from what I have read online, the labels act as the folders in the IMAP system).
I am completely new to ASP.NET and VB as well as C#. I am trying to add customers to a contact list out of a DB. Then the list can be referenced to call them up. But when I try to run it I get System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. In line 19.
