Btw (For the first code)If I press the Button the first time and i paste it manually(ctrl+v) to the paint the printscreen image is appeared.Also If i debug the code it works perfectly and it produces the .bmp file.
So im thinking its a timing issue , so I put a sleep(3000) after the keybd_event(VK_SNAPSHOT, 0, 0, 0) command and it still doesnt work.

I can't paste it as a file into a folder/desktop.So how can I copy the image to to the clipboard and if gets pasted to a folder then it becomes a file?

Preserve Image Metadata When Moved To Clipboard As An Image
Dec 2, 2011I am writing a little program to convert LaTeX snippets to images which can be pasted into whatever program one can paste images into. It's working alright but the next obvious step is to include the source LaTeX code as a piece of metadata in the image so that the results can be modified without having to retype everything.
I have succeeded in adding a title PropertyItem with the latex encoded as an ASCII byte array as its value (id=800, type=2, value=System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(codestring)). I verify that the PropertyItem is really there before trying to put the image on the clipboard.
Then I do Clipboard.SetImage(myImage). The result is all of the PropertyItems are removed (my title plus anything else that was there)! I check this by doing MsgBox(Clipboard.GetImage.PropertyItems.Count.ToString) which gives zero.
This way, the copiedImage has the same PropertyItems as the original. However, new problem:
Other programs don't recognize what's on the clipboard as an image anymore, which defeats the whole purpose. I.e., if I put an image on the clipboard this way, when I try pasting into some context that accepts pasted images, nothing happens.

Jun 24, 2011I have a problem when trying to save a picture box image ( I am using vb2008 express edition)When i load my windows form I create a folder called images and the current date (eg images 24062011) using the following code.

this works fine and creates the folder on my desktop. I then load an image into a picturebox and try to save it using the following code which is where the problem starts.

so my problem is why does the 1st statement give me the error as surely as I have declared that fold = the folder name then that path should be correct, as the program is set to save the image automatically, not using the savefiledialogue I don't want to have to manually type in the folder name every time I use the program.

I get "a generic error occurred in GDI+" raised. Googling reveals a few hits for this problem but seemingly mostly related to using databases rather than the file system.
Has anyone come across this? I don't want to paste all my code here in case my nemesis is watching, however basically I'm getting a reference to the PictureBox's Image property and manipulating the pixels using GetPixel and SetPixel, and then setting the picturebox's image property = my modified bitmap.
I understand that the error is generally related to the bitmap not being ready to be saved - is there anything specific I need to do to "close" the bitmap so it can be saved?The strange thing is that I'm sure this was working earlier today and now seems to have arbitrarily stopped working.

Aug 22, 2011I'm making a simple little program. It's going to save the image in the clipboard (from pressing Print Screen) to the folder that the .exe is in. My problem is trying to find out how to save the image file with a user-specified name, such as "Image", then adding numbers to it. So it would be like Image_00001, Image_00002, etc. I would like to make the name be specified using a textbox (pretty easy). I know how to get it to save as different image formats and all, and I know how to get it to save as a hardcoded name in a hardcoded location, but that it isn't what I'm aiming for. If you've ever used the screenshot function of Fraps or MSI Afterburner, then that's basically what I'm trying to make here.
I've already searched these forums and did some Googling, but couldn't find anything that I was looking for. Not even a sample program with something like this. I found something in the CodeBank, but it's all the stuff I've already gotten implemented.

Computer Recognize Image As Text On The Clipboard
Sep 12, 2011I wrote a program that copied an image from the clipboard and stored it on a file. The machine I wrote it on ran Vista. When I copied the programs over to a computer running XP the program wouldn't recognize that there was an image on the clipboard. It will recognize that there is text on the clipboard but not images. When I transfer the programs over to a computer running Windows 7 it works just like it did on the Vista machine. So I figure the problem is somehow related to the XP operating system. But how? Lots of programs I use on the XP machine can copy images to and from the clipboard. So why can't the one I wrote in Visual Basic?

I tried to use BinaryReader using ReadUInt16 but I get EndOfStreamException Unhandled error. ReadByte method works fine with an 8bit tif file. I do not know how to read a 16bit image file using binaryReader. Shouldn't I use ReadUInt16 since values of pixels range from 1200 to 4500?

File Saving Error Closing App Due To <b></b> In File Name
Apr 25, 2009i just found a new error problem on my app.. i have a save button that saves text1. as the file name and text2. as the content.. i recently tried to save this file name on my app: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareC07ft5Y as a file name, and due to the in the file name, it made my app error and close without being able to save my file.. my question is, how to bring a msgbox saying "invalid characters in file name" instead of causing it to error and shut down. (just found out that registry entry is for SafeDisc-enabled products, although, i'm not fully sure..)

The problem arises when I up load a picture to a picturebox and I go to save. I receive error dialog "System data invalid constraint exception: FK WineList_WinePurchase requires the child key values(1) to exist in the parent table.
