I am trying to attach files that get emailed along with the text data from my text boxes on buttonclick.
Here is what part of my code looks like:
mail.To.Add(TextBox2.Text)
mail.Subject = ComboBox1.SelectedItem.ToString

What I would like to do is create a command button that launches an email from outlook attaching the current word document to a set email address. I'm not fussed if the word document is saved or not as it is only the email receipent that needs it, likewise I don't mind if the code instructs the email to send of just opens it ready to be sent.I have read through loads of forums and tried loads of codes but cannot get any to work.
View 3 RepliesWhen I select multiple paths from openFileDialog in my listBox control enter only one path by try. This is probably because that I use OpenFileDialog.FileName. I wish to load all selected files in one time...but in this case Add(OpenFileDialog.FileNames) give me the value stringArray in same listBox. I suppose that maybe exict peace of code through ItemCollection which give me opportunity that I import all file path in one try in listBox control. It was interesting because how I may implementing matrix between openFileDialog and listBox..

I have a list of directories that get files added to by other users on my network.I would like a script (triggered by scheduled task) that would detect if there are files in these folders older than 15 minutes, and send me an email. I am able to run Batch/DOS, Python, Perl, or VBS - I have them all installed on the server. As long as they can be triggered from Scheduled task.
Example:

View 2 RepliesWhat to use for adding multiple attachment to a email. I'm using VB 2010.
First, I have a Form in my company web site to fill a reclamation ..... when you fill and send it, it convert the form into a PDF, save it in the client side "TEMP" and finally get the PDF and send it to a email..... that's perfectly fine. I add to the form the capability of attach multiple files with file upload to the same "TEMP" and displayed in a Grid View to remove or add files and send everything to a email, the attachment capability is working. Everything is working with the PDF not the files(attachments).
There is a way to get the multiple files from the "TEMP" folder and add it to some dynamically variable (array list, attachment collection, list collection, etc.) so all can be send to the email. I already know the way to put it into the email with the PDF.
The problem is to get the files and add it to the dynamic variable and that it work with the email. If the code is need it.
I am developing a desktop application in VB.NET 2005. I have a requirement whereby a user need to select a .txt file from his machine (client) and after clicking the save button, i need this file to be saved in the server into a specific folder. View 1 RepliesI have in my form 2 RichTextBox , one Listbox , one OpenFileDialog and one Button . In those 2 RichTextBox I would like to load two (*.RTF) FILES .
Application Steps :
1- When I click the button , an OpenFileDialog open .
2- I choose those two files (*.RTF) and when I press the OK in OpenFileDialog, the path of those two files are written in the ListBox as Items.
3- After getting the path of those two files , I would like to load them into those two richtextboxs .
The problem is that I don't want to specify the richtextboxs names in order to load the files . What am I saying ? I.E : I don't want to use that code : "RichTextBox1.Loadfile(Listbox1.items.item)" When I debug my application : everything goes well , only when the listbox items are loaded in the richtextboxs control I get only one file loaded on those two richtextboxs. Right Now I have written these codes :

I am working on a project which use files with a .HRZ extension. These are image files with a simple red, green, blue, red, green, blue structure. There is no header of any kind. I know how to display these files in a picturebox or convert them to a bitmap, but of course Windows 7 does NOT know what they are, so just shows a blank icon in the OpenFileDialog. How easy would it be for me to add support for this file format to Windows and/or the OpenFileDialog so I can show a thumbnail of each file? I can create my own file browser but I would really like to use the OpenFileDialog if at all possible.

I am writing an application that will use a OpenFileDialog control that will read a text file into memory and later process it.
I do have the following filter: Text files (*.txt)|*.txt|CSV files (*.csv)|*.csv|Spaced Text files (*.prn)|*.prn|All files (*.*)|*.*"
When I navigate to my test folder that contains a single .txt file, I see that file. When I change the filter to *.cvs that files goes disappears because it has a .txt extension. That is good. But when I select All files *.* it does not re appear? Why and how do I make it appear.
I have a website that has highly granulised access and hence requires many web.config files. The problem is I would like to trim the menu so that only certain users will have access to certain folders. I have enabled trimming and setup roles in the sitemap, however when I access the page the menu is not show, as I am authorized to view the default page which is not in a subfolder. When I type the url of a page in sub folder's I have access.
How should I handle this:
A site map for each web.config file - don't know how this will work Removing the sub web.config file to only use a single one
I know this is out there and probably illogical but I was wondering if it was possible to take multiple picture files and compact them into one file.... and then retrieve them from the program later? Way to combine any amount of image files into one file

What I mean here is I want to create a program that sends email to multiple recipients, unlike the usual program which the email address , the subject and other email attributes are hard coded, what I want is hopefully the email address, message body, is came from the database.

im trying to write a small app to save emails , it has two forms , one form for sending emails and a second form to edit the mail-list which is saved as a text file list.txt
the code works just fine if list.txt is populated with email addresses separated by commas but when i attempt to change this list in my second form and return to the previous form when i press send i get this error.

I have tried multiple variations of the following code, but I still get the same result. I am trying to have the last line "Issue Description: ...." to appear on a new line. I have tried vbCrLf, vbCr, and & Environment.NewLine & _ None of which work.
Just a note: The other emails are properly formatted. Also, if I add put 2 vbCr (s) at the end of the 'Issue Title' line then it looks normal.This one in particular seems to be a thorn in my side.

I am able to get the email addresses stored in the variable EmailAddressTo separated by a comma in between addresses. However, it only sends to the first email address. I selected two addresses but it only sent to the first address. How can I add multiple addresses using the To.Add method?
I have made a email sender already, but I would like to know how to make it so that it sends multiple emails instead of just 1. Like on the list of textbox so that the email sender reads 1 string and just goes down the list. Instead of reading the whole list and confusing it for 1 email.
