I'm working on an application to send and receive files from remote peers. I have a ListView wich shows the state of each transfer and now I want to add a progress bar in it. Just as emule, ares and all that programs do.Is there any way to do it without windows api?
I asked a question earlier asking how to use the Windows 7 taskbar progress bar without the .dll files, but I realized that in VS2010 you can embed a .dll into your application. I set this option to embed to true, but when trying to use the code for said .dll, I get this error: Interop type "Windows7ProgressBar" cannot be embedded. Use the application interface instead.
I have a VB.NET (VS2010) Class Library project containing a control. It's exposed as a COM/ActiveX component so it can be embedded within HTML/Internet Explorer.
I am trying to populate a listview from a sql table and at the same time run a progress bar. Currently my progressbar does't run and also the listview does not poulate.
HTML Dim lsvdupsitemlist As New List(Of ListViewItem) Private Sub FindDupsBGW_DoWork(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.DoWorkEventArgs) Handles FindDupsBGW.DoWork
I have seen this done in C#, such as here although, I cannot seem to figure out how to do this in VB.NET. For some background, I have created a custom ComboBox control as a .dll, and I need to implement it in another .dll(ArcMap Component)
im making a web browser which is intertwind in a project, but i cant get the progress bar to display the current percent of a page that is loaded, i want to have 10 segments, each standing for 10% of the total page loaded. So say a page is loaded 67%, 6 out of 10 of the segments will be shown.
I am trying to implement a BGW and want to report progress to a progress bar for my TextFieldParser program, sometimes if your opening very large files it takes a while and I would like the user to be able to see the progress and have some interaction so they know the program is still running I am a little hung up on what to in the reportprogress
I have:
worker.ReportProgress(0, myReader.ReadFields())
and its not doing anything, I didnt expect it too since ReadFields is an array
parser Private Sub BackgroundWorker1_DoWork(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.DoWorkEventArgs) Handles BackgroundWorker1.DoWork Dim worker As System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker = DirectCast(sender, System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker)
I copied the code here and translate the code to vb [URL]it is working fine but there is one small problem but I cannot solve? Here is my code: SyncClientVB Another Source The scenario is... the progress is reported by an event (OnCopyingFile event)
Public Sub OnCopyingFile(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As CopyingFileEventArgs) If pbFileTransfer.Value <> e.PercentCopied Then If txtCurrentFile.Text <> e.FilePath Then txtCurrentFile.Text = e.FilePath
[code]....
The problem is that it is ok when runned but when I click the form it starts to hang but in the console... it is still continuing.
I have two forms, when the user selects a button, the second form opens and an external executable begins an automated process. The point of the second form, is to only show the current progress of the automated tasks and closes when those tasks are completed. How would I use a progress bar to show the current progress of an action on a different form without knowing how long it will take?
frmMain - Allows user to pick process or combination of processes they want to run frmProcess - Shows progress of their selection I have three modules. Each runs a specific process. The frmMain allows the user to run any one of the three modules individually or all together in a single process (basically, runs the one after the other until done).
I have a filesystemwatcher which place files in a queue when they are created. From the queue the files are further processed (xml into SQL database).
The mechanism works fine, but I want to add a progress bar to follow the progress of the files in the queue: processing 1 of 10......2 of 10......3 of 10 etc.For testing, I created a batch file to simulate the creation of files, so the filesystemwatcher can to his work and place the files in the queue. When I tell the batchfile to simulate the creation of 20 files, I see that the amount of files in the queue change. For example;
In the app I'm currently making, I have two progress bars. One for current task being committed and the other is for overall progress.During runtime, I calculate how many tasks are being run and set that as the maximum. As each task completes, the progress bar is incremented by one.
I want the current task progress bar to show the progress of the current task. Some tasks can take a few minutes to complete so that progress bar works great. But, if the task is super quick, like editing registry keys, I see no progress at all. When I edit the registry, it basically goes like this:
It completes so quickly that I never see the bar even move.I also have each task report its name into a label and it skips ahead so quickly that I only see the first task name and the last.Is there any way to make this do a better job at reporting the progress?
I came across a problem in my program it takes too long to calculate the values needed (about 10 sec) .But thats not the problem you don't know when the program is working or not, as it just locks up until its finshed and I view that as a problem.
I need to be able to show the progress of this .I looked at using background Workers but I get exception "Object reference not set to an instance" I believe this is because the background worker cannot write values or something ,As it works will a normal handler.
I'm trying to display the progress in a progress bar, my app reads a csv file before it processes it to a database.and to set the maximum property of the Progress bar i need to detect the number of lines is there a way that im not aware of other than looping the file ?
Possible Duplicate: Which language should I pick up: VB.Net or C# start an executable application from resources without saving it somewhere I added an .exe file as an embedded resource, how can I access it, how to start it?
I have a zip file and I added it to my program's resource folder. I set the properties to embedded resource. Now when I type my.resources. ...in the list the name of that file does not come but other image files comes.I want to extract the zip file to a folder at runtime. I have done that before if I add zip file to my solution. But if the zip file is added into my resources folder (right click in resources, add, existing item) then how to get it from there.
I have an executable file with source code (in C)that i would like to embed into my VB app to make it looks like as if it's one file. My question is since, i have the source code to the executable file is there anything i can create based on the source code like "module",dll, class or something that i can import into my vb app ?
I have embedded a few fonts in my app but using these fonts is a problem ,i followed a guide with source code but it doesnt explain how to use them .guide here [URL]
code below:
Private Declare Auto Function AddFontMemResourceEx Lib "Gdi32.dll" _ (ByVal pbFont As IntPtr, ByVal cbFont As Integer , _ ByVal pdv As Integer , ByRef pcFonts As Integer ) As IntPtr
I have a workbook from an external party (let's call it wb_Client for reference purposes) containing two embedded combo boxes. The combo boxes show up in the formula bar as =EMBED("Forms.ComboBox.1",""). It seems that these combo boxes have their own name because in the spot where you normally see the cell ID (e.g. B14), I now see names. Combo box 1 is called "cmb_Fruit", and the second combo box is called "cmb_Country". Both combo boxes have drop down lists. The first combo box has the choices "Apple", "Orange" and "Pear". The second combo box has the choices "UK", "US" and "France".
Normally, if I open wb_Client (simply by double clicking on the file) the values of the combo boxes are "Apple" and "UK" by default. Suppose that, for example, cell "B10" represents the unit price, and that this number is 0.80. Next, if I change the combo boxes to "Pear" and "US", cell "B10" updates to 0.50. And the 0.50 is what I am interested in.
I only need this process to be automated. Thus, using my own workbook and some coding, I need to open wb_Client, set the value in the drop down list of combo box 1 to "Pear" and in the drop down list of combo box 2 to "US". Maybe I need some code to update/calculate the worksheet, and then grab the value from cell "B10". So the main problem is how to set the value in the combo boxes. How do I do this?
I Have a lot of numerical interval, never overlayed and not necessarly contigous, like this: 1-10, 11-56,90-134. how can I determine if a given interval, for example 45-90 is completely external to the other intervals?
I am embedding an xsd file into my console program so I can use it to parse XML files into a datatable which I then will parse and process into a text file and into a database. I have embedded the file and can access it by going to My.Resources.LinerTester. This will return a string, but in order to use it on the Dataset.ReadXmlSchema method I have to convert it to an XSD, otherwise I get an error saying invalid characters. How can I take the embedded resource and convert it to an XSD file? I know the XSD file works fine, if I read it from a location on the hard drive it will process the XML files into a dataset just fine, so the file itself is valid.
I have a DLL of a VB 6 Project that has one class and a form. The form is called from that class when its constructor is called. I made a DLL from the project, add that DLL is in my .NET project references. Now when I call that class DLL it gives the following error:
Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {4E44E1A1-391D-4846-B733-2618249FE35A} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 800a0196.
i just want to know, what is much better to do for data access? include the database to my solution (tools>connect to database), or just hardcode everything?
