Encoding Video Preferably AVI Or MP4

What I have is a program that is receiving an image from my webcam 4 times each second.. What I am currently doing is just forwarding that image to a picturebox on my main form.. I do not keep the image in memory so as not to clog it up.. When you look at it seems like a video feed. Now what I want to do is to take that image every time it comes.. and put it into a video file, so as to record everything that is being seen by the camera.. Is there any way to encode a video preferably avi or mp4 video..

I'm considering working on a video encoding framework. Essentially a program to re-encode a video file from one format to another, using codecs which are widely distributed. (Codecs commonly found on the average PC.)Emphasis would be on reformatting - rescaling, cropping - in a visual environment. Is vb.NET a good environment for such an application or would it be wiser to look elsewhere?

I am quite new at VB.NET and just need helo on sorting algorithms, prferbly the fastest (quick sort) but bubble would so. It is for sorting and array for 12 numbers, which are being enter by the user via a input box. These are then transfered onto a listbox for visual aid. so the steps involved would be: (already done)1) Enter then inputs into array via inputbox2) Input to sppear in listbox (not done)3) Sort the array ascending/decending4) print results into the listbox again.In my code there is also a total and a average, but that doesnt need any help on it. I want to manipulate the first name, last name and email via code, preferably server side. But I see this is not really how this might work, using asp hiddenfields for example.
So I have to get the values for the 3 fields server side, and somehow post this to [URL] - do I need to build the script in code and submit that? Not use this javascript?

I'm able to create a List(Of String) containing a local directory structure of a LOCAL folder. I'm wondering how I would go about getting this structure for a website, in order to get a listing of all files of a particular type (for example: all .html files)
Something along the lines of what Xenu does would be perfect, but I don't know how to get started. I was thinking of doing something with parsing out "/" of the URL, but then you'd need to know the "deepest" file that exists on the site.. which you won't know...
Is there a way to get a folder listing of each directory of a site without having FTP access or something? (I'm assuming no due to security risks)
My only other option would be to crawl all hyperlinks within the site, and storing all the "internal" ones, but I don't know how to set up that loop, or how to know when it has reached the "deepest" level.
Kinda like when you delete a remote folder from FileZilla, it will traverse all sub-diretories first and delete those files.

I need my program to 'take a peek' into a ZIP file and see if it contains a certain file. I need it to do this many times for a large number of files, so I would prefer it without having to unzip the entire zip-file each time, as that would take far too much time (it's a fairly large zip-file of about 250 MB).Also, I don't need the actual file at all. All I need to know is if it exists inside the zip file.

I have a vb.net project which i have inserted pictures and video. I inserted a video clip using the Windows Media Player control and it does work. The issue i have is that i can't move the program to another computer because the pathname for the video will be wrong. I know i could change the pathname when i move it but this is not practical because i need to present this program. Does anybody know how to make the video accessible no matter what location the program is at?

I am monitoring 12 video feeds from video cameras. Now I have more than 12 cameras, I have 134. But I will only monitor 12 cameras at a time. By Monitoring I mean, I have 12 small video screens on the form that I can see the video. The way I know which cameras are active, so I can monitor them is by a boolean value in a sql database. I run a Store Procedure in my program, and spit out the results in a XML file. I then read the XML file in a loop. This XML file will have a list of the camera names I need to monitor.
So that is for 12 video feeds. Now, I want to have a NEXT or FORWARD button on my monitor form. So when I click this it will give me the next group of cameras, 13 to 24. Now if I only have15 cameras that are active, that means the first group is 1 to 12, then the second group is 13 to 15 cameras. So I will only have 3 to monitor on the second grouping. One thought I had was to have another field in my table to mark as already as an active monitor, so when I run the SP, i will not select that row. But I need to select 12 at a time. Or I can make a number of xml files, one xml file for each grouping of 12, but I need to figure out how I can select the next group without re-selecting the first group. I have no code at the moment, I'm on my non-programming computer.

Im designing a program that will read from various text files (preferably RTF files) and then put them into the RTF box in the program when a button is clicked.
Here is the portion of my code that i am referring to.

I have done very little with encoding of Text. Truthfully, I don't really even know what it means exactly.
For example, if I have something like:

Is that 'encoded' in memory in a particular format? Does that format depend on what language I'm using?
If I were in another country, like China, for example, and I had a string of Chinese (mandarin? My apologies if I'm using the wrong words here) would the following code (that I've used fine on English strings) still work the same?

Or would it lose all meaning when you convert that .Net string to a UTF8Encoding when that conversion isn't valid?
Finally, I've worked with .Net for a few years now and I've never seen, heard, or had to do anything with Encoding. Am I the exception, or is it not a common thing to do?

i got a problem when receiving data from networkstream that was converted from bytes to string.. the output would be the same but when i compare the the string generated from Encoding.ASCII.GetString() compared to the actual string, the output is not the same..

I am writing a little project to parse a CSS file, and base64 encode all the background images.While I am able to parse the CSS correctly, it seems that everytime I try to convert the image file into a base64Encoded string, the string returned is always exactly the same.Please assume that all image paths are passing correctly to the method. We know a tolower function will turn all A to a How to turn all à to a.The purpose is I am creating ids for databases and id need to be unique. Sometimes the same stores are written as à in one place and as a on other places. This will create duplicate id problem.So I need a function that will turn all à and all of it's variation into a. The same way ě should become e.
Basically I would use utf8_unicode collation on my databases. Letters that count as the same letter under that collation should map to the same character under this function.I need to make sure that all other east asian characers are not affected in anyway.

I have a challange to convert the detected Encoding format of Text file to selected Encoding format. Like if the detected file is in Utf-8 and if user want to convert the encoding to Utf-16 or ANCII or Unicode. It will happen on one button click and the file will convert to the desired output encoding format.
Right Now I am able to detect the encoding but conversion not happening.
