Whenever I store values to a double-type variable, and ask to display it on the screen, there seems to always be a discrepancy, for example, I entered 7.416 to a textbox and assigned it to a double. When i ask for it to be displayed, it used to be that the 7.416 is returned to me. But just a few days ago, when I debugged my program again, it returns numbers like 7.4159987.......[code]....

I declare my dates as the following in my code:

But i am now trying to declare time however i keep getting an error because i cannot get the type correct. I tried the following but get the following error: "Conversion from type 'Timespan' to type 'integer' is not valid".

In my database the DeliveryTime type is set to Time(7) so i would assume there should be 'Time' which i could use to declare it, but there isnt. What is the correct type i should be using?

I'm creating a login system with ASP.NET and VB.NET, and I have the webpage read a MySQL database for a table with the usernames and passwords. In the 1st column is an auto-incrementing id number, 2nd is their username, and 3rd is the password. I am using a code to generate an id for a table.But it is giving 'Conversion from type dbnull to type integer is not valid' exception.Now I know that this is due to the table being an empty set.But it works properly if there is already a row in the table. I created an application in vb.net 2005. It works fine on my machine. I tested several different test machines and all were working fine. As for the client, it's generating an error. My application reads from an excel sheet and imports the values to an oracle database. the error being generated is: "conversion from type string to type double is not valid". Why is it generating only on the client's computer and not mine?

I have code that loops through a string array to add words one at a time to a line of limited length. I am trying to fit a phrase on up to four lines, centering the words on each line. My code appears to add the first word but on the 2nd word I get a "conversion from string "IS" to type 'Double' is not valid" error.
Here is my code so far:

FROM 0... No matter where the seconds are in the real seconds, it will display real or simulated seconds in the sim_sec text box... Starting from 0... But there Real Seconds, because the Timer is not accurate. So I Simulate the Real Seconds. How to write it the right way, it's keeps throwing the error:

So I'm trying to create a program in Visual Basic for my uni coursework and I'm kinda stumped a tad here. I've created most of it, I just need to write the files to a txt file (in the same folder as the program [bin/debug]).
I'm creating a some kind of employee reference form. Fill in your details, figures out gross pay, net pay and all the taxes an employer has to deal with. When you press Save, the details should all write to a file and I should be able to select from multiple ID's in my combobox for the employee ID reference. If I try to save a file with the same ID number I should get thrown an error. every ID should be saved under the Employee ID box.
