I need a query that would allow me to find/search same STK_HOLD_NAME and/or STK_HOLD_CODE in my record/database . I dont how to query it because my table_STK has a million of records.
Each set of ( 1 million ) prime numbers is in a ZIP file just click on say 1st Million
on the left to download a list as a ZIP file.
Here is a similar page which is a lot easier on the eyes:>>
[URL]
These are of course great to use in any security application or as part of any password.
However with the list so readily available on the internet is it such a good idea to use a prime number as part of a password? Food for thought perhaps? ....
I guess it depends on how long it is too. :-)
You could try to remember one that is close to an important date or other number that you know maybe?
If you are more paranoid use more than one prime number in a password with other characters ( UPPER and lower case letters etc ).
I'm creating a book reader, and the book is about 5 million characters. This book contains a lot of chapters, and what my program does is that if I asked for Chapter 2, it would go to the first index of where it says (Chapter 2), and it would delete everything behind it using substring(0, indexof(Chapter 2)). And everything after the Chapter.
I've written the code which is about 4 lines not anything more. The original text file book is in the resources. I've set a string = the resource. I tried then searching for Chapter 1, it worked. It worked until about Chapter 7, then it stopped working for the all the Chapters after it.
I thought that Substring cannot search into that huge number of characters. So i cut down the book into another part from Chapter 7 to Chapter something, and like that. And it was of 8 parts at last. Set each one as a resource and set a string = resource. It would search in the first part, to the last part until it finds it.
However, I noticed later that when I tried searching for Chapters 5 or 6, it stopped working! Chapter 7 is working. The last chapters in each part are not working anymore. All I could think of that it is a memory problem, not a substring problem. What can I do?
I salvaged the following piece of code from:[URL]...This code works fine, but the problem comes when I need to get all the primes above 100 million. I am familar (at least a little bit) with the BigInteger class in .NET 4.0, but when I replace all the instances of "Integer" with "BigInteger" in the following code I get this error: Value of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List(Of System.Numerics.BigInteger)' cannot be converted to 'System.Collections.Generic.List(Of Integer)'.
(The reason I need primes above 100 million is that I'm trying to work through some projects on www.projecteuler.net)Anyone have some ideas on how to modify the code to work with BigIntegers,
How can i search a database with multiple search criteria. e.g. search where ata=26/11/2001;department=Security;Payment Type=Expense.I would also like to display this data in datagridview when i click on search button. Or if possible, using crystal reports to view the result so that it can be printed
I am looking to create one of these search engines with autofill function. I want to find the records and fill the datagrid with them from the database where combAC.text is like ...
I got this, but at the moment it doesn't find any records.
Private Sub combAC_Leave(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles combAC.Leave If combAC.Text.Length <> 0 Then
I've written an algorithm that I believe to be correct for computing prime numbers up to n with the Sieve of Eratosthenes. Unfortunately, this program hangs on really large values of n (try 10 million). Here is what I've written...
Protected Function Eratosthenes(ByVal n As Integer) As String Dim maxValue As Integer = Math.Sqrt(n) Dim values As Generic.List(Of Integer) = New Generic.List(Of Integer)
[code]...
How might I speed this algorithm up? Where are my bottlenecks?
way to write the LINQ query. The parent class is simply a student's name and a list of test score data. The child class is a single test score datum. I want to find the worst (or best) score out of all of the TestScore values and then identify the student who had the best score.
Dim query = From s In studentList _ Where s.ScoreList.Select(Function(d) d.TestScore).Min _ = studentList.SelectMany(Function(g) g.ScoreList).Select(Function(h)
I have a problem finding strings that do not exist in a column in a database. I am going to use linq but its more the 'way' of doing I am concerned with.
I have strings like; MEAL GPST EXLEG EXLG ...etc
I need to find records that does not have this list of strings in, so for example DBML BUT sometimes I can have the string MEALDBML, or more concatenated. So this is a known string of MEAL and unknown string of DBML. I would then want to see that record. I do not know the unknown strings up front, so its a case of feeding in the strings I know are ok, and finding one that are outside that list. I was also thinking of regex?
I need to do a query in which I can find all records in a table in which a user enters a search word. The word to be searched for will be a word in a column. If there's a table named solutions and in the table there is a field named description; i need to be able to pull up all records where for example the search word is 'printer' is in the description column. I don't have any code or database structure to show. I first need to know if this can be done. Can someone supply a code snippet example or tell me what SQL keywords will do this, or some pointer?
i have a search function in my program in order to find records from an access database... all the other functions add/edit/delete are working just fine this is my code for search function: [code]
I have users check off lab facilities in a UI. I want to use linq to fetch corresponding records for all of the labs that they have checked off. Basically,
Dim myRecs = (From l As EpiData In myDataContext.EPIDatas Where l.facility= _ one of the checked labs
So basically, I need to write a linq query where the "strings" to match are determined at runtime. Is there any way to do this easily? I know that there is a library out there called dynamic LINQ, but (1) it's in C# and I'm writing in VB (2) I'm really just looking for a single, simple solution for this single case.
I can retrieve records from my Database fine, but I'm having trouble updating records. I am getting a syntax error on [code] I get this error when I change the Last Name (Row 0, Column 1). [code]
I want to search the records from the textbox and display the records to the datagridview, if there are no records, just display empty on the datagridview.
this is not working: Dim sqlsearch As String sqlsearch = "SELECT * FROM setting WHERE mname LIKE '%" & TextBox.Text
I have this piece of code wich works perfectly when inserting records into one table using records from another table. My question is that now i need to create another table by using records from 3 other tables (tables are related). Can i use aliases on the column names, like on Oracle SqlPlus? How will be the syntax of the 'INSERT INTO SQL statement?
Dim MyConn As ADODB.Connection Dim MyRecSet As ADODB.Recordset Dim tmpSQL As String MyConn = New ADODB.Connection
I am working on creating a program that records animal data (wombats) and stores it into a database, using vb.net. I am trying to add new records into a database but every time I click add, to execute that, there are duplicate records that gets added. How do i write the code so itonly adds it one time. I am using a data reader. Here is the
I want to search the records from the textbox and display the records to the datagridview, if there are no records, just display empty on the datagridview.[code]
I have a dataset containing 2 tables,Customers and Contacts. Just showing the master-detail is not a problem. Problem occurs when I try to search the master table to bring in the detail table. Searching the master table shows only the master record, but not the related detail records. Adding a 'findby' query on the detail table only shows the records.url.. Normally when the master table is filled, the detail record shows in a form.
I have a database with 3 tables: Student, Unavailability and Duty. The fields for Student are entered in a form I have. One of the fields in Unavailability is filled by a form, the other fields are an autonumber and a foreign key to the Student table.ow I want records in the Duty table to be created and automatically filled in depending on what the values of the fields are in the Student table. For example, If the Boarder field in the Student table is 'yes' then I want the Duty Number field in the Duty table to be '1', '3' and '4'. If it is 'no' then I want the value to be '2' and '5'. I recognize it will have to create several different records to incorporate the different duty numbers for each StudentID. Obviously this will require an if statement, however this is my first time implementing a database with my limited experience with programming and Visual Basic, so I don't know how to refer to the specific fields in a table and set the value of other fields depending on the data in other fields.
I am currently using the code below within a VB.Net application to find specific text in a Word document. The text is surrounded by symbols represented by the character codes in the .Text statement. The code below is working fine. The issue now is that sometimes the desired text within a document has been marked for deletion and appears as tracked change within the document. I would like to find only the desired text that has NOT been marked for deletion. Does anyone know of a way to determine if the found text is a deletion?
I've got a form - CMCConsole It pops up a dialog form for adding a new case.If the matter number in a textbox on that dialog form matches an existing cases matter number I would like to find it in the binding source of the CMCConsole form
Private Function CheckMatter(ByVal MtrNum As String) As Boolean Dim cfIndex As Integer = CMCConsole.caseBS.Find("MatterNumber", MtrNum) Dim cfIndex2 As Integer = CMCConsole.casefileBS.Find("MatterNumber", MtrNum)
[code]....
But it appear the filter for the CASE we were just on that is set on the binding source is keeping the FIND from seeing other cases.
caseBS.Filter = "CaseId=" & e.Node.Tag.ToString
Do I have to clear the filter in order to find a matter number in some other case??
I have a TypedDataTable called CamerasDT which has a composite Primary Key of GroupId and CameraId. I want to use TypedDataTable.Rows.Find(key as object) to return a specific row by GroupId and CameraId. I don't seem to be able to find a way to send primary key to the find function.
I have a rich text box with the following text in it:
word word
I am finding the endings of the word, that is, the string "rd". The following code finds the first occurance, but then fails to find the last occurance, and the variable "indexToText " changes to -1.After the first search, the debugger shows the startLocation at character position 4, so it is not past the second occurance but still will not find it.
It then finds the first two occurrences and fails to find the last occurrence. No matter how many words I add, it always fails to find the last occurrence.
