Formatting Numbers - Output With Properly Inserted Commas

How to format numbers in VB.Net. All I want is properly inserted commas in my final output. Such as:
lvwItem.SubItems.AddRange(New String() {ConvertToMegabytes(CULng(LogicalDrive.TotalSize)).ToString})
I have three functions which I use to convert various numbers to MB GB and TB. I would like to have the final output number be properly formatted with commas as necessary.

Any simple way to add commas to large numbers (example: instead of "123456789" as my text converted {and loaded into a text box} output of a calculation, I want to see "123,456,789")?

I have a issue with my DataGridView. It's bound to a DataTable at form load. I have a sub wich handles data recieved from a serialport. Inside that sub I'm adding a row to my datatable. That works fine, but to make the row visible in my datagridview, I have to either click on the row, resize the form so that the DGV dissapears and then appears again, manually call DataGridView.refresh or something like that. Why isn't the DataGridView automatically redrawn when a row is added inside a sub like that? One solution is to add a timer where DataGridView.refresh is executed every second, but it doesn't seem like a good idea

My first issue is that intGallons wont round up properly at 231, like in the image below, instead intGallons stays at 2. The second problem is with the format of listbox. I would like each variable under the proper column. I tried using
lstOutput = String.Format("{0,5} {1,15} {2,15} {3,15} {4,10} {5,15} {6,15}", intRoomNumber.ToString("n1"), intSquareFeet.ToString("n"), intGallons.ToString("n1"), decPaintCost.ToString("n"))
but I get an error about string not being able to be converted to listbox.

I'm having trouble lining up data from a file with their respectable columns in a list box. I am using print zones to space out data evenly, but when i run the program the output is still messy. So I need lining up columns properly together. As of now, the first 2 list box items line up with each other perfectly, the data i am looping through to add to list box is not lining up correctly. I have changed my zones several times, but still no luck.
A chunk of my code (some) :

Ex) Dim fmtstr as string="{0,15}{1,10}{2,8}" if I understand correctly the leftmost number is the zone number and the number to the right is the character width?

Is there a rule of thumb used to set the character width of a zone?
For example:
Dim fmtstr As String = "{0,-10}{1,12}{2,14}{3,12}"
lstcolleges.Items.Clear()
lstcolleges.Items.Add(String.Format(fmtstr, "College", "enrollment", "endowment", "public ss"))
This will align the text nicely into a list box. How do I determine how to set the character width?

I have a window form with a label. On the form I have a dataset, bindingsoure, and tableadaptor (all created by the IDE in response to binding the text property of the label) To fill the datatable, the IDE created this: Me.ClientsTableAdapter.Fill(Me.MyDataSet.Clients) Works fine. The bound field is a phone number, stored in the db as a 10 digit numeric string I need to format this with the standard ()-, and I have a function that will do just that. I have been searching for a way to format output using writeline/write (streamwriter)using RTF tags and wondering if there is a syntax for this, if it exists. I have not been able to find a resource which clearly explains how to "pretty" up output sent to a file.
The reason why I am asking is because I want to "print" results from my program into a file that, at the very least, would be centered, tabbed and even bolded where possible without requiring the user to go and futz with it. I think I saw that Crystal Reports won't work with VB 2010 Express and, quite frankly, just want to create a file with output.

So I'm attempting to get three variable to print in a string, but I can't figure out how to make the Concat or Join commands to work properly. I've tried assigning the strings to a defined string variable and then "concatting" that and trying to do it in one big line. I keep getting an error either way. Here's what I have so far:
Str1 = PaymentNumInteger
Str2 = NewBalanceDecimal.ToString("C")

I am building an XML string programatically using the XmlWriter ...

I want to be able to output the XML to a TextBox control on a ASP.NET webform. When I do output the XML I don't get any line breaks or indentation in the XML. The XmlWriter does not seem to have any properties to set formatting. Is there anyway to retain formatting and indentation?

There are 3 buttons and 5 textboxes in my program. ignore the "plot" button as that is a machine specific code, as well as any weird lines like

I would like to have my output in columns, and the numbers in two digit after the decimal.
I am writing a data validation app where the app asks the user for input like give me a number of double type: and hopefully the user will comply.
But the app will test some validation rules and then:
1) if the user simply pressed enter the app will tell the user all sorts of reasons why the input was rejected. And that part should look like a table with columns for the entry, if it passed true, otherwise false and then the reason line empty input. Or this number is a string.

I'm having a bit of an issue getting the number formatting of VB .NET 3.5 to work just right for me. I have to convert numbers to scientific notation, with 2 digits for the exponent and 6 digits after the decimal. I've been able to get this for numbers that have enough digits, but for other numbers, it truncates the number to use as few digits as possible. For example, I would like 0 to be converted to 0.000000e00, or 123.4 to be 1.234000e02.

I'm a noob, so please bear with me. I'm working with VB in Visual Studio 2008. I have an application that displays dollar amounts. With the application installed on my desktop all of the dollar values display with 2 decimal places. However, after moving the application to the server and executing from there, trailing zeroes after the decimal point are lost.
For example - 7.00 displays as 7 - 10.60 displays as 10.6 I'm guessing there's an options file somewhere that determines how these numbers are displaying but I have no idea what that file might be.
Can someone tell me how to get both digits following the decimal point to display all of the time?

2. (Cash) Allow the user to key in any number of item prices for items purchased in a discount store. Display the grand total amount of all items including an addition of 8% tax on all items.
3. (Pumpkin) Allow the user to input any number of pumpkin weights in pounds into the program. Output the average of all pumpkin weights, the largest pumpkin weight, and the total number of pumpkins.
Right now I am not even sure where to start. I attempted #1 and I started by making a variable of sum = 0 and using a For Loop with a variable of Sum and Initial value of 1 and final value of 99 with a Step of 2.

I have attached the form in initial state. What you don't see in the initial state is 10 hidden labels. I want the loop(which I am calling as a function??) to compute the numbers and display in the labels. Example, if I input 1 for the first term, 3 for the second term and 4 for the total terms, the first 4 labels should become visible and have in them one solution each:
1 - 1
2 - 3
3 - 4
4 - 7
Am I way off with what I want to do? Cannot use arrays, must be a loop.This is the compute button:

I am looking for a code snippet which opens a image, creates a clone of this bitmap in memory disposes this opened image so that all handles are closed.
Usually we can open a bitmap using this[code...]
the following code however keeps the Image File locked until the application is running, any suggestions how to dispose it properly. (So that no handle is left open )
Things i already tried: use dispose method of bitmap <= doesnt work (need to write implementation)
