Forms :: Automated Login And Downloading Of A File From A Website

I am trying to creating a windows application that can automatically sign into a website and download a file. I have managed to get it to sign in and reach the file, however a windows pop up box appears asking if you want to open or save the file and then specify a location. How can I automate this part?
Basically I want to schedule this to run each morning and download the file without any manual intervention.

I am trying to download a zip file(which contains 4 text files) from a secure website and getting html page in return. If I do it manually I get the zip file. I am using visual basic express. I am very new to .net programing. why I am getting html page instead of the zip file. The manual process is to login, click ebill tab and select the month from list and click download button, which then open up the save dialog box with the zip file name.

I'm downloading a file from my website using WebClient.DownloadFile(),I'm wanting to do it asynchronously, so my UI stays responsive, that would require me creating an array of web clients, is that bad practice? Or is it acceptable?I have looked into FileWebRequest, but thought WebClient looked easier to implement.

I've been working on an application recently, and have encountered a lot of setbacks. I'm considering switching the project to C#, but that would take a lot of time. Here's what I need to accomplish, but keep running into issues.
Here's what I'm trying to do: Automated, one-click downloading, with a status bar and estimated time remaining, etc. (~20mb downloads.) Unzipping/Extraction of files. So far, I haven't been able to smoothly achieve those with VB.Net (4.0) Has anyone? Or should I just switch to C#?

recently I've been going through some website login automation and ended up with creating a simple my own browser quite happily, to open websites and login straight away.
But I found out that I can't automate some of the websites I was going for, because the html code of the login forms is not shared and cannot be seen in the source.So I'll give you guys a couple of websites I can't deal with and please advice if it is possible to do stuff with them:[URL]...

I have project that Login to a website but need to display a captcha to login.The problem is that the captcha isn't it a static image.It have a dynamic link ( "code.php" ) that shows an image with the captcha.But when navigating in Webbrowser the capctha in picturebox is different.I have some links that imported to a listbox.I want to navigate them all within X seconds.Lets say I want it to navigate each link 60 seconds.[code]

For the past couple of days I have been using Visual basic 2008 and learning it.Anyway, I am trying to make a login form that will login to a website with WebBrowser control.and I am noticing that the webbrowser is extremly slow, it takes him about 20 seconds to load a page while mozilla opens it in a moment, why is that?

I had a problem with WebBrowser component. Basically, it works improperly when try to log in on one web-site (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site). I am working with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. I created a simple WebBrowser trying to access the indicated web-site. The problem begins. Well, the website loads, but when you go to the login page (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site) and try to log in, it doesn't work. I mean, when I enter the login details the login page just refreshes itself and the login wasn't proceed. The same login page appear with every login attempt. The is the current problem!I check with Google, it works. But, it doesn't work with Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site! Why?

this would be my first post and usually I can figure these problems out, but I am stumped so badly right now, I am writing code to write into a .mdb file, my program uses two login forms, the first reads the data base, and sees if the user name and password is correct. I got that working, my second login form is used for creating an account. I am trying to log in to a web site using VB.net. I can open the browser and enter the user name and password by looking at the HTML source for the Name= field. I want to click on the login button but on this web site it is a java script. (<P align="center"><A href="javascript:ValidateUser();"><IMG src="ContBtn.gif" width="115" height="26" border="0"></A></P>) Since there is no name= for the button how do i click on this Java Script?

The last line of my code that nagivates to a new page after login... it executes before the login completes and the login fails. If i remove that line of code, the login works fine. So how do I navigate to further pages after the initial one, and make sure that it is fully loaded each time?
