Jun 25, 2010I'm looking at building a airline simulation game whereby users create an run an airline, I just want to ask something that will possibly be very simple but it's going to be very complicated answer i think.for every aspect of my game do i have a class to create an object, for example
City: (I'll have a class called myCity and each time i look at a city it goes to that class creates an object and I use it then dispose of the object)Airplane: (make model etc) How about bigger items such as Bank is bank it's own class or are items inside the bank the object?
How about competitors, i guess each one is it's own object? i would never dispose of them, how would I store them form each user session to another?

Apr 7, 2009if you can simulate a "double click" when you click a button. What I mean is that,
1 - you click on the button,
2 - the button behaves as if it were clicked twice.
I need this because for some reason, some of the buttons on my form that give focus to a PDF reader need to be clicked twice in a row to work. I think this is because with the component, there are different areas to give focus, but you can only just say "AxAcroPDF.Focus" .
Can I simulate a "double click" on the action of a single click?

Building Arena Simulation Model With External Program?
Jan 13, 2012I have a requirement to construct a Arena simulation model using an entirely separated external VB program, instead of using the build-in VBA programming capabilty. I have some progress on building such program, but not satisfied with the behavior.
Is it possible to create a Model without starting the Arena.exe?If the program halt for any reason (such as termination of debugging) during the model creation steps, the subsequent call to the CreateObject function failed with result like "Cannot create ActiveX/Com objects". This error still occurs even if I manually kill the Arena.exe via the Task Manager. How to avoid this?

Duplicate Concept, Industrial Simulation Program To VB Conversion?
Jul 19, 2009I am trying to convert an industrial simulation program to a VB program There is one hard concept that I have problem with, it is called "Duplicate" Ex: When 1 person pass the duplicate block A, then 2 persons comes out, (that person is cloned). 1st person goes path 1, has delay time of 1 hour. 2nd person goes path 2, has delay time of 2 hours. At the end of the 1st hour, 1st person arrives at the detour, at the end of 2nd hour, 2nd person arrives at the detour, but 1st person already moves on to the next task for an hour.
So you can consider them doing their separate tasks simultaneously. Then complication comes in when somewhere down the path, 1st and 2nd person pass another duplicate B, then total of 4 persons will run into their own separates paths and delays. Then they will come back to the starting duplicate block A, thus creates total of 8 persons and follow the same path above again.
Until some condition has been met (ex: total number of persons pass through duplicate B), then all of them will leave the system.Anyone has any idea what is the best way (logically easy to follow) to program the concept? I hope I explained it clearly. It's unfortunate that MSDN doesn't allow attaching image or video.
Interface And Graphics :: Simulation Of A Light Source And Mirrors
Jan 6, 2011I am trying to do is to draw a ray of light emitted by a light source and it is going to be reflected mirrors. I rotate the emitter and mirrors and the ray of light shold obey the laws of reflection. The emitter and mirrors are in an opaque room which means light should not go out. Where I am now is that I am able to draw the ray but when the angle is 90 degrees ( +or-) all the drawing disappears. I set some conditions to make up for this situation, but it does not seem to work. Besides if the angle exceeds 90 degrees, the line is drawn in the opposite direction.One other thing that happens is I set the ray to stop when either end_x_emitter_ray or end_y_emitter_ray = 500. It works for the end_x_emitter_ray but not for the end_y_emitter_ray[end_x_emitter_ray and end_y_emitter_ray are the point where the ray end]I have uploaded the my whole code here. Can you guys suggest me what can be done to make it work appropriately?

Making A Game In Visual Basic Express 2008 With Several Forms?
Nov 18, 2010Here is a wierd case - I am making a game in Visual Basic Express 2008 with several forms. Each windows form I've given a quit command that works well to end the game. (Me.Close) However if instead I click on the big X button that windows provides in the upper right hand corner - it does not look to truely stop the program.
I'm running this program in debug mode from the MS VBE editor, but when I click that X it tells me that program is still running even though all

They port directly to VB.NET if I add an adodb interop reference to my VS 2008 project. My question is how long will Microsoft continue to support ADODB.Recordsets in their languages and operating systems? 2018?I'm trying to make a design decision. Since backward compatibility with VB6 is a requirement, I would prefer to leave them in the .NET code. However, if support will be dropped soon in the near future, then I will use ADO.NET datasets instead, and convert between ADODB.Recordsets and datasets until support is dropped.

Nov 19, 2011I'm trying to make a little app that displays the battery life of a notebook, and also whether it is charging or not.I've got it displaying the battery percentage and if it is running via the cable or battery alone.My problem is that I have a timer constantly ticking to grab the latest information as to whether it is still chraging, what the battery % is like, however for some reason when it first runs it get's the info but then that's it, it won't refresh the info in real time. I'm confused because the battery can deplete but the program only displays what info it got when it was first ran but if I unplug the power cord or plug it back in it refreshes that info straight away. The bit I've highlighted in red in my code won't work either, basically I've shaped the two labels to look like a crude battery shape and label2's function is to represent the nobly bit at the top of the battery and I wan't that to change to Lime when the battery is 100%.why it won't refresh the graphical output to the screen?
