Goal Seek In Access

Oct 25, 2011

I'm trying to write a code in visual basic to perform the Excel version of Goal Seek in Access, When I wrote the code, wich included the formula below to do the goalseek function, it gives me an error and identifies the"Range" in the "ChangingCell" segment of the formula as a problem.I am using two text boxes (Text210 and Text495); one that contains the data and the other box for the results.[code]

What Happened To Seek With Access Files

Mar 13, 2012

In VB3, I could open an Access file, select the table, specify the index and read a record in just that many lines. [code] If the customer's phone number was stored in Access as Phone, once the seek command was implemented, it was available as HeaderTb(Phone)In this example, OE was short for Order Entry, and the database contained the header files for all orders.I worked through the oft-cited tutorial to pick up the basics for database control, but it provides a means for the user to look over and work with records.But what if my application was more of a relational database? How do I instruct VB10 to access a record by its key and how do I use the data it comes back with?

Ultimate Goal To Interface With Webcam And Do Image Processing

May 14, 2012

I am not a CS major. I'm taking Mechatronics.But I'm always leaning heavily towards embedded programming and electronics. Nowadays, I would want to take the dive into PC programming. Slowly.So, I've started to learn VB.net. The syntax and basic programming principles are still ok. But I got stumped when I tried to go deeper where I see, directx, directshow, dll, avicap32, and etc. What are they? and API? How ar they connected with VB.net? It's different when I'm programming microC, where the environment is limited and dictated. Now there are options so broad until I am lost.is the architecture and what has those APIs , DLLS, and etc mean literally.Ultimate goal would be using VB.net to interface with webcam and do image processing.

Using Seek With Filestream?

Feb 23, 2009

I am trying to read in a file and store the byte position of each line read so that I can write out to another file the records in any order that I want. I am doing more manipulation of the lines, hence why I need the line position from the original file, but for simplicity sake, I am just including code to display the problem I am encountering. When I read in the file, I am getting the correct file position, but when I write out the lines, every 1024 characters it is re-writing whatever current line it is on. I am assume there is some buffer that is coming into play that I am not familiar with,

Office Automation :: Controlling Access 2003 From 2005 - Error Occurs When - Access Any Property Of "access.Forms("frmTest")"

Jul 17, 2009

I have a program in VB.NET 2005. At some point I have to open an Access2003-Application for getting data in it. I do that by pretending my program is a human user and let it do all the work in Access as a human user would do. Filling Fields, pressing buttons etc. I use the Primary Interop Assemblies for that. So far so good. That code is in use for over half a year now. In the last week I got Office 2007 installed on my machine. Of course I tested the installed version of my program if everthing still works. Every test was succesfull. But if I do the same tests in Visual Studio it always crashes.

All I get is this Errormessage: {"Das COM-Objekt des Typs "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" kann nicht in den Schnittstellentyp "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" umgewandelt werden. Dieser Vorgang konnte nicht durchgefhrt werden, da der QueryInterface-Aufruf an die COM-Komponente fr die Schnittstelle mit der IID "{66B22FB4-F70E-4F03-A00A-F76E9ADBBF10}" aufgrund des folgenden Fehlers nicht durchgefhrt werden konnte: Schnittstelle nicht untersttzt (Ausnahme von HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))."}

For all who can't read german:

"Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" can't be converted in to "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" ... Interface is not supported.

Code I use:

Dim access As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.Application = Nothing
access = New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.Application()

The Error occurs when I try to access any property of "access.Forms("frmTest")"

Project Using VB And A Database In Access - Check If My Application Requires Access To Be Installed Or Not?

Feb 16, 2012

I'm using VS 2010, and I did a project using VB and a database in Access. The problem is that when I try to put that "application" on other computers, sometimes, is not working. I thought it can be because on these computers they don't have access, but on one computer, is running another app which is using Access and there is no Access installed. How can I check if my application requires Access to be installed or not?

Here is a example of how I did the connection:

Public AccessOLEDBConnString= "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=" & myfullpath & ";Jet OLEDB:Database Password=password"

Function getConnection() As OleDb.OleDbConnection

And when I want to have access at the data I'm doing like this:

dim conn as Oledb.OledbConnection

dim sql as string

dim ds as Dataset

Export A Table From An Access Database To Another Access Db Using VB 2005

Mar 31, 2009

I have two Access database, say database One.mdb and Two.mdb. I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset. However, there should be something simpler and faster than that, shouldn't it? Any idea?
