How to grab information from a mysql database and output it to a text box i.e., I have recently inserted name john and then I have a text box that I want the name john to appear in how do I do it? I can successfully connect and insert, update, and delete but cannot select?

Im making a program that grabs order information from paypal and uploads the info to an FTP server.
I already know how to auto login to paypal, and how to write files / upload them to an FTP server, but im having problems with the stuff inbetween.I thought something like this would work (given i made the variables correctly);

but it doesn't, it returns the error with;Now an explanation of what i want it to do;I want it to goto the history page [URL].. and grab the date, name, status (completed or not), and amount values. Then transfers the said values to the variables in the syntax above (d1 / n1 / s1 / a1). After it grabs the values of the new orders, then it goes to the description of everyone, and grabs the text in the subject.
I have just learned MySQL in VB.NET, but I am having a complication..When I grab a SELECT Query, I want to get - lets say the 'username' column in each row it receives. How would I do that?

how to correlate info from a textbox based on a listbox item selection. For example the user will select an item from the listbox, enter say the length of a song in the textbox say 2:00 for song #1, select say song #2, enter the song time for that song say 3:00, click on song #1 again and have the same textbox display the length of that song and be able to do that until there are no more songs on the list.

ultimately, I'm just trying to get the last auto increment value but there are other sections of my code in other applications that I plan on switching to MYSQL that depend on output parameters. I have't yet explored using stored procedures but at this time I would like to get this to work in a similar fashion to how I had it with MSSQL.
i'm working on an e-voting system for my thesis... but i'm having problem on how to output the data in all the rows in the database in a check box. so it means that the number of checkbox is equals to the row of the table. i manage to output only one data from the first row but i don't know how can i output all the succeeding rows.

The code works accept for the txtScoreTotal I need to Add the Numbers together but all it does is For Example Joel Murach|97|71|83 it will put 977183 Instead of actually adding them together.
I'm currently using a textbox to scroll some info. The problem is it scrolls one line at a time. This creates not a smooth scrolling action ( jumps one line at a time ). I would like a scrolling action like you see in movie credits scrolling smoothly vertically. I don't know if this is even possible with a textbox.

The user has to pick on of each and it pills the price from the array and then displays the price in a text box.
