I have a database.
Date-------------Amount
04/01/2009 ----- 1000
04/03/2009 ----- 2000
04/03/2009 ----- 2500
Now the problem with the Group Query is that I want to display:
Date -------------- Sum(Amount)
04/01/2009 ------ 1000
04/02/2009 ------ 0
04/03/2009 ------ 4500
As you can see that '04/02/2009' is not in database but I want to group by date daily even if it is not present in database....
In our IDE, for example, Visual Studio, if we display the properties of a System.Windows.Forms.Button control, we see some properties that expose anoter set of properties. For example: FlatAppearance, Font, Location, Margin, etcetera.I would like to do something similar in a custom control.I know the code behind is wrong, but here is an example of what I´m trying to do:

So I've created a custom ListView by inheriting it and overriding the OnDrawSubItem(). I can now draw icons in several of the columns. It's pretty nice! My question is, is there anyway to do this for the ListViewGroup? I'd like to place an icon just before the group text.

Im using the folowing function to return a SelectList. I need a custom format on Descr, but replacing Key.ToString() to Key.ToString("DD/MM/YY") render me the error "Method 'System.String ToString(System.String)' has no supported translation to SQL.". How could i use a custom date format on Descr?

My database field is a datetime field in SQL Server 2005.I am able to bind the data, but my control doesn't work when a date isn't entered. I'm pretty sure that this is a DBNull issue. I need to be able to insert NULL into the database when a date isn't entered. When a date is entered, I want to insert that date into the database. With the below code, I can't tab out of my control when a date isn't entered.

View 4 RepliesThis has been driving me batty for the last while. I have an application that is passing up data to a SQL server table. Part of the data is dates. Because of settings on the SQL server the update will not accept the MM/dd/yyyy format. I have been trying for quite some time to get around this.
For some more information. Changing the update method or the server regional settings is not an option and I don't want to change my regional settings as this may not reflect the production server when this goes live.

It works fine if the day is 12 or below because it still thinks that is the month. Is there a way to force the code to recogize that I want to use dd/MM/yyyy format or even dd/MMM/yyyy format?
This has to be done at thhe vb code side as the update to the SQL server is completed via a custom framework so I can't customize the SQL code to insert the data using a CONVERT
I'm trying to match up a specific group name and see if it exists for the currently logged in user using Active Directory roles. If the Group Name exists for the Current User, I want that group name to be displayed in a drop down list. Example: If current user is in BIG Group, display BIG in drop down list.Problem: All I am getting is SIDs and I'm not able to get anything to match up to the group name and nothing will show up in the drop down list.I also get the following Error:Error: Object variable or WIth block variable not set.How do I fix this?? here is the code I am using:

The popup window comes by pressing F4 or ALT+DOWN keys in my datagrid which is getting closed if I press the down arrow for the first time, after showing the first value in the combo box as selected. Next time onwards, if I press the F4 key and down arrow, I can move to any item in the popup window and select the item using keyboard and in that case, the popup window is not getting closed till I press the ENTER key or selection using the Mouse. Is there any specific reason for this behaviour or something is missing in my code part? [code]...

I'm invoking the serialization by calling xmlserializer.Serialize(writer,Me) so I'm sure that has something to do with it.I've tried putting XMLRoot onto the class, but I think as vb is compiling this partial class with its aspx page, it's either overwriting this property or ignoring it entirely.I'd like to just tell it to either throw away everything it has and use a different root element.
