I am created a Vb.net ERP Application! In this application I handle core accounting concepts. I have handled Salebill and many of accounting form. I take salebill billno from Database by selecting maximum srno from salebill Table but whenever multiple user trying to access this form at a time, everyone gets same billno. How I handle this situation to show different bill no to different users?

For example, if any of the user controls are clicked, I want it to send a string to the class to be processed and show a MsgBox "Control name was clicked"I am doing this as an exercise to reduce repeating the same code over and over directly in the control, and to avoid creating the class over and over to accompany each user control.
View 1 Repliesi wanted to create a random number generator that iterates through a series of number between an upper and lower bound. say between 1 and 100. Basically I want the number generator to pick the numbers randomly and then display them until all 100 numbers are picked without any duplicates. so thats easy I can code that. But what I don't know is how to show those numbers in the order they are generated on a windows form. So i have basically a variable that I will let be changed 100 times (or however many times I want, I don't want their to be a size constraint just using 100 as an example) and each time the number is generated I want it displayed on screen (in a list or something not sure what. Hopefully some type of scrollable list) and each successive number also to be displayed in same format beneath it so that I can see the list in its entirety. What type of form control do i use for that? I could do messagebox.show for each iteration but then user is required to hit ok after each iteration and that would obviously be a bad idea if user selected a large number to work through. Anyways, code isn't exactly necessary just point me in the right direction, i.e.what control (if any) to use.how to format the change in data?

The one area I am have a problem is PositionItem. I would like to sense that the User has changed the Record Number in the BindingNavigatorPositionItem, handle my record Update, and move to the Record Number the User entered I have looked all over and have not found any way to do this.
Have to write a program that would display the Fibonacci series with the condition that the inputted number from the user is also the number of Fibonacci numbers that would be displayed. And 0 is invalid.

View 7 RepliesI am importing data from an excel file, and it is stored in a dataset. The data is then filtered with a binding source, and that data is outputted into a datagridview. The filtered data in the datagridview contains data for 2 identification numbers. I want to graph each ID number in a chart on their own bar, in either a stacked bar graph, or a double bar graph.
I am having trouble assigning each series to an ID number: I have tried using multiple binding sources, but each seems to override the previous giving too much/too little data. I have tried using multiple datagridviews, however I cannot assign more than one datagridview as the datasource for the chart. The code I have pasted below outputs a double bar graph, however both bars graph the same ID number.

I would think you would need a variable for each series. The function is below. I would think that if there were 5 series that each of the "Dataseries" variables should have their own name. I'm using a series of nested if/then/else statements to make sure a user enters information into each text box or chooses a radio button. What would i use to say if no text is entered in textbox1, then ... also what would i use to make a sure the user choose one or the other radio button? for example i also have a combo box, i used "If SubjectComboBox.SelectedIndex <> -1" for the if statement.

I'm developing an app that should allow the client to add several content sections to a page (in tabs). However I haven't found a way to easily create a form for editing the tabs.Assume for now that a tab just contains a title. I have a form that adds a tab, that's simple. But I also want a form that displays a text input for each tab and allows the titles to be edited and saved. View 4 RepliesI am attempting to create a game in Visual Studio 2008 that allows a user 10 attempts to guess a random number between 1 and 50. I have a label box in which I would like to display the remaining guesses as they decrement. The code so far appears below.
My two (I am sure very basic) questions are:
1. How would I pass the random integer generated through the Generate Integer function to the AmIRight button's click function? I was trying to decrement the counter each time the "Am I Right " button is pressed.
2. I would also like to evaluate each "guess" when the "Am I right button is pressed. Is it possible to nest a Select Case statement in a For Next Loop?

I have multiple textboxes which I want them to perform the same thing upon clicking them. By default I can use the handles textbox1.click for 1 single textbox but I am not sure how to do handle multiples of them. Of course I can write a handler for every single textbox but I have about 50.

One of my clients wants a set up multiple dropdown lists as a set of outbound links (yes, I cringed too, but he does have his reasons. there are 3 dropdowns, each one pertaining to its own group of links. When each dropdown has its SelectedIndexChanged, it then redirects based on the choice made. However, lets say I make a choice in the second dropdown. It goes to the proper link. If I then choose a link in the first dropdown, it goes to the proper link. Then if I select a link in the third dropdown, it will go to the link specified in the choice I made in the FIRST dropdown.
How can I code it so that it will always select the most recent selection?

Then it will run commands via telnet with those username and computer on line at a time. I have reached this goal without any problem. I wanted to paste the code here but its too much.
Basically what i now want to do is have a option for user to skip a command.
Like if csv have 3 users in it. i.e.
j.doe, comp1
t.test, comp2
u.user, comp3
Popup will come and say do you want to run the command "add user j.doe, comp1" something and you will have option to say Yes, No , Cancel.
Where yes will run the command and no will skip that user (go to next one) and cancel will end the whole process.
I know Msgbox yes,no is there but i dont know how to skip that user.

The program is used to search for past presidents, so if I type 43 for low number and 44 for high number, the program will display:

We are currently using for next statements in the class. I know how to prompt for and utilize the numbers that are input etc. My problem is the EVEN numbers part. I obviously have to determine if the number is even and then use a step value of 2 from there. But not sure how to determine if number is even or odd (guessing to use mod, but totally lost).

I don't understand how to save the user selected numbers, let the computer generate 6 random numbers, and match the two sets of numbers together to see how many matches there are. As far as I understand the numbers should be stored in 2 separate arrays and then matched together to find any matches.
I am a new VB programmer and am using TextBox in VB2008. Here are the problems I experienced in TextBox -
1, After I typed number in TextBox and found I need to type another number. So I used backspace key to remove it. But at this time program quit and displayed this problem: InvalidCastException was unhandled. How to solve this issue?
2, Can anybody tell me how to set number of characters are allowed to be typed in TextBox?
3, Can anybody tell me how to implement the feature that only numbers are allowed to be typed? In case letters are typed, how to tell user to re-type?
