View 1 RepliesThere are no "non-public" or "static" methods in my code. All are public. What I'm trying to do is pass a FrameworkElement (more specifically a web browser control) that was created in one process over to another process for display and use. Also I'm not using (and would to avoid using) any of the framework 3.5 addin stuff.[code]

It works, when I make getBar methods public, but I don't want to expose these unneccessarily. Why I can't call private shared methods from a public one in the same class is over my head. I'm using .net framework 4.0 in a web application.

View 3 RepliesI connected to the Informix server using RazorSQL, created a stored procedure and tested it, getting the expected answer, so the procedure exists in the database in some form.
I then run the following code:
If ConnectToInformix() Then

cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure

This error does not occur when calling the stored procedure from a live SQL connection.
I want to create an ExpressionTree where a Func(of Vector, Vector, Vector, Vector, Double, Double, Vektor) should be called. So I use
Expression.Call(Forces(0).Function.Method, {Vec1, Vec2, Vec3, Vec4, Double1, Double2})(Vec1-4, Double1-2 are declared as ParameterExpression and Forces(0).Function as Func(of Vector, Vector, Vector, Vector, Double, Double, Vector). But I get an AgrumentException, because Forces(0).Function.Method has seven Arguments. (System.Runtime.CompilerServices.Closure as seventh argument at Index 0).
I want to know what implies to declare a function or a sub using public or directly Sub / Function i.e.:
Public Function Whatever()
' Process
End Function
versus.
Function Whatever()
' Process
End Function
explain me the difference between them? I'm new to visual basic, and I need to know the very basic things in Visual Basic allowing me to become a professional User

View 5 RepliesI have been playing around with VB for a while now, but still need to consolidate some thoughts. I was wondering if anyone could answer this..... Whats the difference between say Form1_Load and Public Sub New() on form startup? The reason i ask is i normally add calling subs to the form load process, but can you add any startup calls to the Public Sub New(), and if so, what is the advantage?
