50 Random Circles With Different Colors?

Feb 9, 2011

I am working on a program to generate 50 circles starting with the smallest in the center of the form. The circles do not over lap and the appear to grow outward. Each circle has to be a random color. I have the code that generates what I need but all the circles are the same color. I was thinking about either using an array to hold each circle and color as to not assign the same color to all of them but not sure about putting a graphic in an array. I also think maybe a nested loop of some sort but was unable to figure one out.

Private Sub mainForm_click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Click
Dim penColor As New Pen(Color.FromArgb(Rnd() * 255, Rnd() * 255, Rnd() * 255, Rnd() * 255), 2)

This works to do what I need to get done, I just need each circle to have a random color as it is drawn.

'approach 2: fails.. why?

Adding Custom Colors In DialogBox

Jan 13, 2012

VB 2010, Trying add custom colors to a dialog box, save and reload on opening. The "add custom color button" just adds it to the boxes on the left and does not save it for future use. If the user select that color having added it the left you can then get the integer value and add it to the code

ColorDialog1.CustomColors =
() {CustCol1, 16646145, 16580610, 16645891, 16711426, 65536, 6699546}
And save for displaying next time. but it does not return the same color.

Why does it return a different color, it displays the correct color when used at the time of saving? Is there no way of saving all the custom colors, if a user puts several in the boxes on the left? You have to make sure you select Basic color first otherwise it changes existing custom color or if you select a blank box you cannot select anything.

When custom colors are added via code as above it goes along the top row first but when you click the "Add custom color button" it adds the first color to first position of the top row and the next to the first position of the bottom row. How to add custom colors to a dialog box, save and reload on opening.

Change Button Colors When Clicking?

Aug 21, 2009

sometime in 2007, I created a program for a few people that play a game using AOL.  I had 75 buttons set up, and when you click on it a certain amount of times, the colors change... click once changes red, click 2 times changes blue, etc. Well, a few of them had lost the program and I had lost my project files when my old HD crashed. and I cant remember what the coding was for changing the buttons colors... One of them had the First one I made, which I had made updates to that (it was a beta), but I dont have the correct files to open anything to see what the coding was that I used..

I have the setup.exe, filename.application, filename.version#.application, and a few other files, but none of them that I open shows any kind of coding at all. Is there any way I can open something to view that coding again? or could someone explain how you can change a buttons color when clicking on it?

What I need is:

click 1 - Red
click 2 - Blue
click 3 - gold/yellow

Im currently using VB 2008 EE, What I made the program in before was VB 2005 EE?
