Okay. I have a TreeViewBooks that displays 'OT' and 'NT' as root nodes. They both have child nodes, but for sake of length lets just use 'OT' as an example. Under 'OT' I have childnodes that are the names of the books of the Bible; Genesis, Exodus, etc. Under the childnode 'Genesis' I have other child nodes that represent the Chapters in the Book of Genesis. Ex: 'Chapter 1', 'Chapter 2' etc. What I need to figure out is how to display the correct Chapter the user has chosen. Let's say they choose Genesis Chapter 1. I want Genesis Chapter 1 to be displayed in the RichTextBoxDisplay.
The following is the current code that DOES NOT WORK.
I am using a vb 2005 and mySql as my database. I already created my project but it seems like when i edit my program.. it doesnt apply. What might be the problem? Is the vb.net application, MySql or the OS?
Working on Access 2007 and Visual Studio 2008, i already connected my database to the application and can see the data on datagrids and can add or edit or delete records, the problem is that those changes do not go to the database, so when i close and reopen the application, i found the old data as it was before. Note: i used the wizard to add the connection, not the code.
I have a string of code which builds out an answer and question as you would see on a medical form.
strDisplay &= strMyAns & Space(5) & ControlChars.Tab & MyQ & ControlChars.Tab & Environment.NewLine & Environment.NewLine Results look like attached .gif. Is there an easy way in VB to indent when the question exceeds space on a page?
After searching Google, and finding only answers to XML indent, "just use Visual Studio's auto indent" and "that would be crazy to write your own auto-indenter" I've decided to come to the good place: StackOverflow.Question:
1. How do I add an 'indent' to a programmatically created file?I would be generating the files via the System.IO class / streamwriter, unless someone can tell me of a better way, I just want to generate a file from my asp.net page, a windows app or possible a batch file (well, maybe not this last one)... to generate a class file, such as Employee.vb OR EmployeeDAL.vb
Question 1: Is there a way to indent text in a textbox control? E.g. user input in textbox starts on position 2 and not on 0 (next to textbox border) Question 2: Intro: Outlook 2007 Calendar -> Day section has a nice feature: onmouseover (wait 2 seconds) and it shows a rounded and custom textbox (with indent). If you click on it you can set an appointment directly without having to open the appointment/scheduler form and fill out appointment details. Also this custom made textbox or panel whatever it is, shows markers allowing it to be dragged over the screen - selecting multiple hours...
I have a notepad I'm creating, but i've tried everything I could think of to replace a tab indent with spaces on keys.tab event. When I press the Tab key I want it to replace the tab indent with 4 individual spaces. Like as if I was to press the space bar 4 times, only that would be done automatically upon pressing the tab key on my keyboard.
I'm using a richtextbox control. I have a tab settings form, where I will be able to give users an option to choose how many spaces the tab key will represent. I just need to figure out how to replace the {TAB}.
so far, I have the number of spaces correct, but the last space in the series after pressing my tab key seems a bit larger than the rest of the spaces, and is not a real (normal) space character. That puts everything out of line when i'm typing on a new line. the characters don't line up vertically and when I press the space key however many times i've set the {Tab} key to represent, the tab key even though it should have the same number of spaces occupies a larger distance horizontally if that makes sense.
I have a listview which I am trying to remove the initial root node's indent. My problem seems to be that I can't even set the indent value of the treeview in it's properties lower than 19, and if I try something like: TreeView2.Indent = 16 16 seems to be the lowest value that makes any visual change. Using visual studio 2008
I'm not able to use edit and continue feature while debugging my project. I'm using VB 2008 Express Edition on a 32bit winXP version.
I already check on MSDN and found that this feature can be enable in dialog Tools/Options/Debugging.... However, I do not have a Debugging entry in the treeview in this option dialog. I also used to reset the Import/Export setting features in the tool menue. However this did not solve the problem as well. Then I tried to import some settings and I was able to select the option for debugging. However in the tools/option menu, the debugging feature is still not visible. Edit and Continue is not working as well
Its really a pain to debug with the current setup, as I always have to restart my application when I did some minor changes.
Setting a hanging indent using full word automation. I am using word 2003 and vb 2005. I am inserting paragraphs in the document and I am having some difficulty getting the whole paragraph to indent.
I have a form that adds new contacts. New contacts are added by pressing an appropriate button and they appear as an entry in the list on the form. I try now to add an edit button that will edit existing entries.User will select a given entry on the list and press edit button and will be presented with an appropriate form (AddContFrm).Right now it simply adds another entry with the same title. Logic is handled in a class called Contact.vb Here is my code.
Public Class Contact Public Contact As String Public Title As String[code]....
I found that when group by multiple values does not work well with VB.NET, but it works well with C# ,here are my code, is there something wrong with my VB.NET Code? Here is my VB.NET code:
I have an application that requires data be entered, and after entering, a button is clicked to process that data. Clicking the button works just as it should--the data is processed properly. In constructing a test module, I provide a set of data values, followed by:
btnWhatever.PerformClick()
Nothing happens. I have used this syntax for years, and it has always worked flawlessly. I have triple checked everything else and isolated the problem to the failure of the PerformClick(). The PerformClick() is in a test subroutine that does nothing but fill textboxes and labels with default data, then calls the PerformClick() on the button to begin processing. Again, the button works fine, the data is entered as it should be, but the PerformClick() does not fire the click event.
I have a form that works on my local Machine I created into. I have Office 2007 on this machine. I created the Form with the Excel 12 Reference. I move the Entire conetence of the Project folder to my work computer. Which has Office 2003. Do I need to recreate the form with the Excel 11 reference. I could not get the form to work on work computer. IT has a com error. I am acessing the EXE for the debug folder w/in the Bin Folder.
I'm using vb2008 with DB MSA2007 (save it to MSA2003) on Seven(7)System After I create my project I build it(make exe). then I took the file of project (application) and the DB from Debug Folder.
I tried to run this application with DB on another computer it's system is seven and MSA2007 and work very well. then I run it on pc it's system XP and MSA2003. it showed this error
Application Error THE APPLICATION FAILED TO INTIALIZE PROPERLY (0XC000135). Click on OK to terminate the application
I am not able to edit the second row. No problem with the first line.Error: Column 'PID' is constrained to be unique. Value '2' is already present.[code]
I'm building a VB(2010) program to create the graphics for my laserprojector. The program works when I debug it in VB, but when I run the EXE program in the release directory, it doesn't work. The problem in the EXE program is theat I can't draw/view graphics in the picturebox..I coppied my whole program to a new VB project, but I'm having the same problem...In the original project, where the program works, there are no warnings or errors.
i can't edit my vb files. after having opened visual studio 2008, i open a project with the solution file. i can see, in the solution explorer window, my vb file. but if i double-click the vb file, i have the following error; there is no editor available for form1.vb. make sure the application for the file type (.vb) is installed. i have re-installed visual studio and still got the error. someone knows how to fix this?
What I am trying to do is be able to remove a handler, add a handler, and a button and add a string to the my.settings. I would like the DLL to be able to do all of this to my form1 in a different project. How my program is setup right now is by the information inside this tutorial. You will be able to find my source code below but it is just a test code that I am using for right now to add to my main project later on. What the program does so far is checks for add-dons (DLL's) and will execute the function Addonloaded inside the DLL. My final goal is to have it so that nothing will be stored inside the program for the add-on's, so that I can easily make add-on's and the users can just add the DLL to their addons folder.[code]...
trying to edit an xml file in vb, i try-ed to find answer around but those did not worked as expected, what i'm trying to achieve is that for those transport_orders that have negative , replace the negative value with its positive.Keep in mind that the values is a number with 2 decimals and it's positive shouls remain in the same format.
