IDE :: Program Terminates Without Exception Details?

After dealing with the pain-in-the-____ error "The path is not on a legal form" witch only occured after dragging a file system watcher onto the form, by creating the file watcher in the code. When an event is raised, i have to tell the user what happened. I can do this using messageboxes, without any problem. But, when I wanted the output to be displayed in a textbox, the program terminates without any warning. Here is what my code looks like:

I have an application which I wrote in vb.net. When the application starts it connects to mysql database online to get some data and once done it proceeds. The problem is at times it gets stuck in the mysql thing, I mean after requesting nothing happens and this causes my program to lock up. Is there a way the program can determine that x seconds has elapsed and it has not got data, so self terminate it.
I tried using timer to perform this action but as the program requests for data, it gets stuck, I mean it locks up and thus timer also locks up and only after task is done everything resumes. I wanted that when the program is about to start request, I can start a timer and determine that x seconds has elapsed, so now terminate the application.

I get this error when attempting to debug my form, I cannot see where at all the error could be (also does not highlight where), an error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

im making a simple blackjack game. im not using pictures or anything, just using alt + 3-6 to make these symbols: everything was going great up until a little while ago. it worked fine, then i added a timer to tell who wins and some code for it. im stumped, and i know i could make this code 50x more elegant but i dont care that much,....the exception is: An error occurred creating the form. I have installed MSSQL Server 2008 on a new machine. An application developed in .net 2008 thorws the above mentioned error. I am using the Windows Authentication mode in SQL. Does anyone have an idea how i may fix this error. I have a simple vb.net app written using MS Visual Studio 2008 with SP1 and .NET framework version 3.5. This app simply queries a MySQL table into a dataset, makes a csv file from that data and then uses Oracle SQL*LDR to load a local Oracle table. Nice and simple.
This app runs fine on just about any computer or workstation I have tested it on with no issues but when I move it to the workstation it will live on...it shuts down just before it hits the load event. I have tried to capture any errors but so far there do not seem to be any errors generated at any point...it simply terminates with no explanation.
I even went so far as to recreate the project from scratch and still got the same result. this phenomenon only seems to occur on the very pc I am expected to deploy to.
the only thing I know for sure is that it is getting at least as far as the declaration section of the form. Once it has dimmed all objects/variables/etc..it seems to just shut down.

i have a problem: I have a Form_Load-Method which is not doing all the commands in it. It just interrupts and jumps to the "Form_Paint"-Event, eventhough i did not yet paint anything or invalidated any object. The Form_Load-Method is this:

the dashed line indicates the point of termination. the for-loop is simply not done. i tried it with stop points and the last point it stops is the ReDim-part. this can only mean, that the ReDim-Command forces the program to leave the method. but the for loop is never done afterwards. Can you help me? Because i really dont get it.

Notice: I used "End", to terminate the process.What I want to do is when the last function is called (Delete_AutoReq_PracNo) it terminates the execution of the application.
Reason...I'll schedule this application to ran from MS SQL Server at night. So realistically, doing all the processes I would like it to stop...Is what am doing sufficient to stop the application from running or there is a more robust approach..

It is possible to catch an exception and throw a new exception which wraps the first exception as an inner exception: [URL] Also, if I call a function and it throws a certain error, but I catch it, will the calling code's catch handler execute? If so, and it is of a higher exception type, is this not wrapping the exception? eg I can throw exception ex of type IndexOutOfRange, log it but rethrow, catch a higher up exception and do something, or I can throw a new exception and wrap an inner exception like:

I am trying to retrieve file details from files in the Program Files folder. I receive an error while trying to retrieve file details.

I receive file not found error at 3rd line. But if I change the path from "%ProgramFiles%Windows DefenderMSASCui.exe" to "c:Program FilesWindows DefenderMSASCui.exe" it works fine.
What should I do if I want to retrieve file details from the path which includes a "%" character?

I'm working on a status monitoring program for my company and we need to be able to know if a process on a remote machine is hanging due to not responding (that I can do) or if it's thrown an unhandled exception. I've tried a number of things from checking the CPU usage of the process to checking if the process has gone idle. Nothing has really been reliable. Is there anyway to do this? All the programs we'll be monitoring are running on either .NET 3.5 or 4.0.

I keep getting a null reference exception w/this program, and its on the line that declares the array. I've looked it over and over and I just don't see why... Can you let me know if you see anything obvious? I'm also getting an "index out of range" exception, but it looks right to me...I declared everything with an 11 for 12 months, 0 to 11 for the intcount.

I have a form with binding sources and a method for saving the data.[code]I was testing to see what would happen if the operator tried entering duplicate data in the primary key field. They exception occurred as I expected but the program gets stuck at that point. The exception messagebox just keep redisplaying when you click OK. I'm fairly new to .Net, but this code is how the help files show updating a TableAdapter using the "Try/Catch".
