Add a new report to a windows forms project. Now add the table data region from the tools. If you don't already have a strongly typed dataset displayed in the data sources view, get that ready. Now do the tried and true easy-to-use trick of dragging a field from data sources onto the table's details row.

Visual Studio 2005 SP1cr10 developer also installedOn XP machine, works fine. Got a Windows 7 machine(64bit and all) and copy over the project, run it and can't, I get an error in each crystal report gets an error [code]I take these lines out, and no more error for the report. Since there are like 40 reports in a project and there's 5 different projects that would have to be altered, this will be a pain. And I'm not the only developer. Another developer, on Vista and another will be coming in on XP, don't have this issue. I've tried uninstalling everything Cr and visual studio, then reinstalled visual studio and ran it, same thing, then installed SP1, same thing, then updated security fixes, same thing. CR10 isn't installed. I've removed and added the references back ,they seem to be the exact same versions.

I am refactoring an old program to use VS2008 (instead of VS2005) and the 2003 Crystal Reports merge modules no longer work on the client machine. I am using the CR version bundled with VS2008. Neither the CR10 merge modules downloaded from the SAP site work, nor the CR x86 msi.

I have Windows Forms VB.NET application developed under VS2005. I am using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005. The reports has some Arabic and Hebrew text in it. My problem is that although text appears correct in the viewer at run time, when exported to any format including PDF the text appears reversed. The letters appear correctly but the arrangement of the letters in words is reversed and accordingly the word appear incorrectly.
View 1 RepliesI have a test app driven by bluetooth serial events In my form load code I hide the cursor so it doesn't get in the way of pictures (fullscreen) When one event is called by bluetooth, it brings up a msgbox and the user has to click OK. I tried Windows.Forms.Cursor.Show() but it doesn't work.
I'm guessing it's something to do with delegates and events and the form, but the debugger doesn't complain at any point. It just refuses to show the cursor. How can I get my serialport event to show the cursor? And then hide it after?

So whats happening is that it opens the dialog ok, saves the document to my chosen location correctly, but opens a new document and gives the new document my chosen file name and leaves my saved document with the file name New Document.But when I close all the open screens and then re-open my saved document its all as it should be.

How do I get the SuspendLayout and ResumeLayout to work correctly in regards to a listview. I have added these lines of code before and after I have added the items, yet each item is still being displayed as I add each item.

After upgrading my solution with both c# and vb.net projects I have encountered some problems:
1. When for example writing Public Property MaxDate As Date and pressing enter it does not create the Get/Set values
2. Refactoring is not available
3. The properties window is blank when viewing classes (normally I would see Serializable and COM properties to the right)Intellisense works and the above problems work in new projects.
My debugger doesnt work correctly anymore and I want to let it work correctly cause i've done some changes in my project but when I click on debug then it just shows my old layout.

I can create a program or web page that can display crystal reports. I have searched and searched with google but am still none the wiser. I foolishly assumed that there would just be some .NET SDK on the Crystal Reports website, and there isnt... there is a lot of talk about it, but no download link or anything.They are using Crystal 8.5 - does anyone have a clue how I can even get started with this? Will there be an SDK on the Crystal CD or something?

After installation completed, i could not find the crystal reports any where in the VB2010, so i changed the .Net Frame work from Client profile to .Net framework 4.0 as i found in some blogs, but still did not solve the problem any how.
I have a problem with MDI forms and their location. I have a container form within which I open several child forms. Also note that in the container form I have a ToolStrip at the top and it is also docked to the top. In each of the child forms I have set the following properties. View 3 RepliesI've got three forms, one is a search form where you use textboxes to filter the datagridview to find the Client you wish to work on.The second form is basic data entry, their personal details, assets, liabilities, etc is entered on this form.The third form calculates all sorts of reports about the particular client.I filter the binding sources each time to get the appropriate clients data on the form when the particular client is chosen in the first form.When I go to print the word document I create at the button.click event, it comes up with an error saying "Conversion from string "" to type 'Integer' is not valid. I've checked countless times, tabbed in and out of the textbox, named ClientIDTextbox, but it still wont accept that there is a value in that textbox - the error is appearing on the line where I use the textbox to query data from the database using the ID in the textbox.The third form holds the print button, and the second form holds the ClientIDTextbox which is causing this error.
I'm about to try querying the binding source, instead of applying a filter, using ClientBindingSource.DataSource = dt where dt is a datatable. I'll let you know how this goes! But in the meantime, is it because I've filtered the binding source multiple times across forms that the error is appearing?
I can have all the projects existing in the same solution, and it builds fine. I can have a reference added to the project that I want to show a form from and still builds fine, every time I do something like this: Dim form_to_show as new Project2.Form1 form_to_show.show() It appears to corrupt the RESX file and stops compiling...it's really getting anoying..
View 7 RepliesI have a question that I hope to find a much more simpler solution to.I have two forms in my program which are named Main and Second. The Second form has several textboxs, buttons (some disabled) and comboboxes. When the Second form is opened via the Main form on the very first instance, everything works fine.
However, if I re-open the Second form after previously closing it, the disabled buttons are no longer disabled and the text controls and comboboxes show the previous values entered from the first instance which I do not want. How can I ensure that the Second form will be opened "clean" every time.
Currently I have to add instances to the onload event to do this to ensure that the form is cleared on the second instance.textbox1.text = ""textbox2.text = ""textbox3.text = ""button1.enabled = False

View 3 RepliesI have been working on a quite complex multiform solution.All of a sudden the start up form (in fact any form I designate to start up) loads, displays and operates fine.
But when I try and show a form using showdialog the form displays behind the original form and I can�t set focus to the ide to close it down. I have to use task manager or alt f4 while the form has the focus.
Calling different forms from this one gives the same result but other forms work fine. I don�t want to redo this form as Ive done a lot of work onit.The only thing I can think of that whist I was changing the startup form in the project propertied page (file>project>properties) I unchecked the �Enable applications framework checkbox.
