IDE Not Switching To Code View After Adding Event?
Jul 19, 2010
I'm having some problems with the IDE for VS 2010 Professional. When I click a button to add a click event procedure, it's not switching over to code view. It also seems to be adding a bunch of extra code that I didn't add for other controls.
Private Sub dgvData_CellContentClick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellEventArgs)
End Sub
Private Sub btnChange_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
I have been a VB6 developer for several years, and switched to .NET couple of years ago.Since then, I switched to WPF, and now, i am attacking Silverlight + PRISM I whould like to know if anyone of you programmers have some GOOD and CLEAR tutorial/instructions on setting up a View-Switching application in VB code please? So the main goal whould be a menuregion (working!).When the user clicks some buttons, i need the MainRegion to refresh its view, depending on the selection ofcourse.I am also looking on information how to keep track of the changes made when trying to switch the view?
I am working on a website web site where each user has a culture setting to allow control of resources displayed. The main page has two views, one the log on screen, the second the main menu.
When first loaded the page displays with the culture settings of the previous user (if any). If I then log on as a user with a different culture setting the view changes to the main menu without changing the culture. Go to another page and the user's correct culture settings are picked up, go back to the main menu, uses the correct culture etc.
This is logical but is there a way (without redesigning the site to have a separate log in page and main menu) to reset the culture to the new user's when switching view?
Having an issue switching a listview from Tile to Details View with groups. When the list view has groups and the Default View is Tile, when changing the view to Details the first Group is not shown. Its under the column header. I jerry rigged it with creating a global variable to store the tile size and when switching to details view setting the tile size to a new size of 1,1. When switching back to Tile View setting the Tile Size to the Global Tile Size Stored.
I have a Table. In Form1 i have a TableDataGridView.
I like with double click in a Row of TableDataGridView, open a new form (Form2) with details view (of the same table) but textboxes filled by clicked row.
I Know the event
Private Sub Table1DataGridView_CellDoubleClick But i cant find code for that what i need.
In the example from my book, I'm coding a button click event, and adding the code..."me.width=me.width + 20"The author states that "me refers to the object to which the code belongs(in this case the form)".
But this isn't exactly accurate, is it? The "code belongs" to the button object -- not the form object, right? So, I'm guessing that what the author really should have said is that "me refers to what ever form you're working on". Would that be true?
I've read thru Iceplug's tutorial on control arrays and got it working. I tried to add a new event by basically copying his click event code and calling it a doubleclick event. I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?
Heres the tutorial with my new code encased in asterisks ...
When I utilize AddHandler in VB to add my own method to the Click event :
AddHandler Button.Click, AddressOf myButton_Click
I see that my code executes last - after other event handlers for the Button_Click event. Is there a way to insert my event handler in front of other events so that it executes first?
I would like to add a control to read *.xps files, but I don't know which component to add. Which do I add, and in the future, where should I look to find such an answer?
I started working on a product list with an array of products, these products are in a list view. You click the item and it is added to another list view and removed from the one it is curently in. I had it suggested to me and it sounded neater. I had no problems tinkering with codes and getting it opperating properly. But, What I am having trouble with is putting a cost to the product.
The idea is that the user would select products from the list and then they will be totalled together which is why it is important to be able to get the cost in there but not actually visable.Athiest advised me of a method used in combo boxes, because i was originally working with combo boxes. So I tried using that for my needs in a list view. Turns out to be a little more awkward than I thought. I get an error while trieing to add the item to my list box because I havent "declared" it.
I am new to VB and I am trying to add text from a thread to a listview in my Form1.I have tried implementing the invokerequired method but still the new text is not added to my listview.[code]The new text that I add is not displayed in the listview. I do not get any compile or runtime errors but still no new text to list box. I can add text from my Form1 class but not from the thread.
What could be the code if I want to add the value in the 1st row and 2nd row. I want the total to be displayed in Label1.text. I'm just a beginner in Datagridview.Anyway, I didn't put the code because this is just a very small portion of the program that I am creating.
I have a datagridview and there are several columns in it whose datatype is in date format. I want it to where if a person changes the date in a cell which is ALREADY colored, I want that color to change to white as soon as they click off of the cell. [Code]
vb.net Dim NewsItem As New ListViewItem NewsItem.Text = reader("Title") NewsItem.Tag = reader("NewsID") NewsItemList.Items.Add(NewsItem)
I'm looping though results in a db and adding items to my list view however i it's adding like tihs
ListViewItem: { Title showing here } ListViewItem: { Another Title showing here } ListViewItem: { And AnotherTitle showing here } What am I doing wrong it should just read
Dim ds_Details_all1 As New DataSet Dim dgv_newtbcolumn As New DataGridViewTextBoxColumn Dim dgv_newcbocolumn As New DataGridViewComboBoxColumn Try If ds_AEGM.Tables(0).Rows.Count <> 0 Then
am trying to call a very lengthy set of code from under the DoubleClick event of one control, from within the Click event of another control....without having to copy and paste the desired VERY length code from the first control into the second.
i am asking that can i use c# language to implement "actions" fired on "click side events" such as mouse over the reason for this stupid question is that i remember some syntax of registering functions for particular events of formview, which are call when the event occurs (yes there ispostback involved" is something like the above possible for client side events using c# or even vb.net
I'm having some major issues with this little booger. I will supply what I've tried, but let me explain what it should do first.
Upon the text change event, if the item number is found in the DB, it should add it to the list. Then, take the 7th sub item, and place it on a label. Each time a new item is added, the cost's should add together to give me a total. Simple enough right ?
CODE:
This is a huge mess, I'm very tired and not real sure how to do it. But the item is adding twice for some reason, sometimes after I've added it one time (appears twice) and add it again, it might add 4 times, or 5. And when two items are in there, the cost displayed on lblPrice is 4x as much as it should be. Can anyone point out where I'm all screwed up, and maybe suggest a different way to go about it ?
Tried to look for a solution for this problem everywhere and can't seem to find it?I have found solutions related to sub-classing the document, but this method results in a Null Exception as there is no document.
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
AddHandler Me.WebBrowser1.Document.ContextMenuShowing, AddressOf WebContextMenuShowing WebBrowser1.ContextMenu.Dispose() WebBrowser1.ContextMenu.Show(WebBrowser1, pas) End Sub
i have a source codes of type ( asp.net master page , asp.net server page , vb) and i want to view the (output of them)how i can do this in visual studio 2010 ?i am not who write these codes , but i have to view the output to evaluate them
I know that when I add things to the designer in Visual Studio, it has to be generating code for them somewhere. Where do I find the code that Visual Studio creates when I add controls, change properties, etc in the designer?
I'm adding a vb.net assembly to existing c# application. All of my vb.net types inherit from:
[code]...
My problem is that the event can not be serialized. In c# code, the event is declared like this:
[code]...
But I can not see how to do this in any way with vb.net. Is there extended event declaration that I can use to make the event not serialize? Or other attribution?
I am trying to build a application where I can add another .exe program to a button_Click Event. I want this exe program to be run from within my Program so I can remove them from my pc and have them all contained within my new application.
why the SelectionChanged event fires when adding the first row to a DataGridView? Subsequent adds do not fire this event ... only the RowsAdded event fires after the first row is added.
