How can I make my text box send the value that was entered when pressing the key "Enter"? I have tried the "textbox_enter" event and it wouldn't work. When I press enter it makes a noise (something like "ding" xD).
View 4 RepliesI am making an Auto Typer and it was going all good until I came apon a mysterious problem. When sending the space key or enter key with "Send Keys. SendWait" they come up with their numerical equivalent, 32 and 13.For example, a user types "test" into the textbox, and clicks "{Text} {Space} {Text}" in the options menu. The user clicks start and the output is "Text32Text32Text".Is there any way to just send the keys and make them appear as if you typed them on a keyboard?

So it was my first try ever with VB and it kind of worked... Only 2 problems;
1. Button 2 doesn't really work, I have to click it really many times, then go to a different window, then click it really many times again, in the meantime it keeps on spamming
2. How do I make my autotyper press enter every single time after the textbox message was typed?

I enter the price in a text box and click the enter button to send the price to a list box immediatley and use an array. I have the following code but I don't think it's working with the array correctly as it will let me enter the information but doesn't stop letting me enter after the 12 prices. I am really having a hard time trying to figure out how to set up this input for an array and make it all work.

I've built a dialogbox with a RichTextBox and I'd like to have the following behaviour:
I've got the focus (cursor) in the RichTextBox. When the ENTER key is pressed, then there should be a new line in the rich edit control created. The ENTER should NOT close the dialog box [as it does now :-( ].
I have a password form that contains a load of buttons. The user has to enter a four digit, numeric, password to procede. They do this by pressing one of 10 number buttons on the screen, the keyboard isn't used. If they enter the wrong password an error message pops up (this isn't using the error tool I just added a message box msgbox("Error Code #638492") or something) if the user doesn't enter a password, after 5 seconds (I use a timer called Timer1 with an interval of 5 seconds) the form closes and it goes back to the previous page.
My only problem is when I close the form using Me.close(), the message box is still displayed. And if the message box is still displayed it doesn't work. The form is miminized (I have the application in full screen) so this is very bad. What I need is to simulate the enter key press then close the form so the enter key is pressed, the messagebox close then the password form closes.I can do this using SendKeys.Send("{ENTER}"). Here's the sub I use:

However, if I don't have the 'Close()' line of code in the message box closes as it should. If I don't have the message box open and I don't use the SendKeys.Send("{ENTER}") then the close() line works perfectly and close the password form as it should?
I am working on my application that I have two forms to work with, as the one are for search and replace text and the other form are the normal form. However, I want to know how I can use the sendkeys on the form1 when I highlight for each line of the text in the textbox on form1 to press the enter key and start firing for each line of the highlighted text?And how I can do the sendkeys to the form1 when I open the search and replace dialog to input the search text in the textbox then click the button to sendkeys on my form1 and firing for each line of the highlighted text? View 6 RepliesAt the moment I have created an AutoTyper but can not get it to function in the way I want it to. I want it to have the option of choosing whether or not the enter button is pressed after the text is sent. Currently by changing True to False I can make it either send the text or send the text and hit enter. However I can not make it so it has the ability to do both.

We have a multi-line control that we are attempting to prevent the Enter/Return key from being used to create a new line.Strangely enough, "AcceptsReturn" as False does not prevent this.So we added the following:

This works fine, however one of the QA people discovered hitting Control + Enter still puts in a newline.How would we prevent this?And why does AcceptsReturn being False not work as it appears it should? What is the intended purpose of it?
So I would like an email program that within the code already has the from email adress, gmail. I would like it to let you enter the number of emails to send to the address that you enter, not the one in the code. Also I would like it to be able to enter the message.

As you may see it is a "flooder", and i am just playing around with the program, evrything worked, until i did want to try it on msn, and i have to use the "enter" or "return" button. to send the text.insted of "pressing" the enter button and send it, it just writes the number 43? it is this line that i have problems with "SendKeys.Send(Keys.Enter)"
I cannot seem to successfully send the Enter key to a webbrowser control using .net. I can succesfully send postmessage Tab key and it tabs through the links and controls, but it does not click on the link when I send Enter key.The website I am opening has frames, and due to the cross frame scripting policies microsoft forced into the IE control , I cannot retrieve the links from the IFRAMES on the page. So my alternative thinking is to use Tab keys to get to the link and then press Enter.

View 10 RepliesI'm currently in the process of building a text editor type program, and have run into a brick wall. I haven't done VB in years, so I may just need a little reminder on some things. I have coded everything so far as far as opening files, saving them, changing fonts, colors, etc. However, I'm looking to add a Close button to my menu strip that will just close the currently opened file, and not the entire program, while also ask the user if he/she would like to save before closing the file, and then if they select yes, it will show the save dialog, and if not, it will go ahead and close the currently opened item.

View 8 Repliesway to "reset" a tooltip, so you don't have to leave and re-enter a control to make it pop? I have a form that is pretty much entirely taken up by one control. I want to have its ToolTip text change based on which region of the control is being hovered over (which I can do now). I just have to leave the control and re-enter it to make it pop. I'd like to have the Tooltip pop, then if I move the mouse to a different location (still inside the control's bounds) have it pop-able again in the new spot.
