WPF question here, I'm using VB.NET as the code-behind so I figure I might get away with posting it here :P Just in case anyone has any ideas.I've got a StoryBoard that runs on MouseEnter and MouseLeave, basically all it does is scales the control up a bit to make it larger and moves it accross the screen slightly (on MouseEnter) and then on MouseLeave it just sets it back to how it was.
The problem is that the animation lasts for about 1.5 seconds, but if the user just passes their mouse over the control and then half way through the animation they move the mouse off the control then the second StoryBoard kicks in but starts with the control in its final position from the MouseEnter animation. Obviously this results in a "skipping" or "jumping" effect in the animation and is less than ideal. So I'm just wondering how you are supposed to make it so that if an animation is half way through and then another event is triggered so another animation starts then it kind of 'gracefully' hands over to the animation that is starting.
I have an application written in VB.net 2003, and I would like to make it 'dpi-aware', but I haven't the faintest idea how to even begin. I am an experienced coder, but this is throwing me completely.
I have a Sql Server 2008 R2 Failover cluster running an active and passive node talking to a shared disk.
I have developed a vb.net windows service which needs to run on each node under clustering conditions.
I need to understand what I need to do to the service to make it cluster aware.
There are a few heavy classes in the service which under failover conditions need to understand where they are in terms of what data is in them so that when the passive node kicks in and the service starts it picks up on node 2 where it left off on node 1.There is near little documentation on this subject I can find on the net and with companies becoming failover happy this needs to change.
I would like to ask how to do a GUI base data binding? without righting any lines of code in terms of adding, editing, deleting or searching records from the database to your application.
I'm trying to make a sort of 2D turn based battle system using GDI+. I'm calling the animation through a Game loop, the animation itself works fine however I have found that both animations play at the same time. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a way around this or a way to fix it?
I'm developing a media player app and upon looking at it for a week now, it seems really bland. I would really like to add some animations for it (besides just moving forms with x,y locations) but have no idea where to start.
Are more complex apps/designs/animations better suited for a language like c#/c++? I've never done animations before (except simple form moving) and I think now would be a great time to get some opinions!
You could probably say this would linger more so on 3d images and 3d animations
I'm experimenting with a plugin architecture for my company's internal business system. I have managed to read all .DLLs in a Plugin folder which implement a specific interface. What I am trying to figure out is the best method of communication between the "host" MDI parent application and forms that will be in the .DLLs which I intend to make MDI children.
Currently, I am returning just ToolStripMenuItem objects from the .DLLs to add to the MDI Parent. I've also tested that events wired in the .DLLs to the ToolStripMenuItems do propagate to the code in the .DLLs. I've also managed to return a Form object via the interface and open that form, as the Plugin folder is being "scanned".
However, I am not clear how I would make these forms MDI children. Also, any other forms living in the .DLLs will also have to be MDI children. I created a VS 2008 Addin project just to see what's going on, and it seems that the Addin accepts an Application object on which it adds to the ToolStripMenuItems and does other operations. The code to build the menu inside the .DLL. This is opposite of what I have done so far, where the MDI requests a ToolStripMenuItem from each .DLL and adds the returned object to its own menu.
Would designing my plugin architecture to accept an application object in the same manner the only way I could get forms to open as an MDI child? Am I asking for other, currently unknown to me, headaches by NOT passing in the application object to the .DLL?
So I can display a gif as a still image but it only shows the first frame if you use image.fromfile and I couldn't figure out how to use imageanimation or whatever it is. Do I have to use a timer or is there some class that does it? The same with the video - there is my.computer.audio.play, but no video equivalent, so what do I do?
Where can I find standard (licence free) animations like "Copy" for self implemented windows applications (avi, animated gif)? Visual Studio has only few animations in its image library (unfortunately not the "Copy" animation).
So far i have tried to animate the pictures and it works but could not move with keydown event. I also then tried a different way and managed to move the first picture by using drawimage but could not animate it in frames.
I use GetClickIndex when I receive a Powerpointall_SlideShowOnNext event to move the selected index of a list of animations (built previously from the Timeline object). The first animation returns 1, the second 2 and so on.
This works fine until I manually move animations up or down the Animations Pane list using the PP Animations ribbon and re-start the slide show. Now GetClickIndex returns 1 for each SlideShowOnNext event I receive.
I have been trying using activeX animations in a VB2005 app. Continually having trouble with the interopt dll. What can one use for animations in .NET? I am trying to use the standard file copy avi.
I only started using visual basic earlier this year so I'm still a newbie but I've been wondering some things:
1. When you have a picturebox back color to transparent, objects under it still get hidden. Is there a way around this?
2. I've been trying to make a program where you can control an object, and it has multiple animations, but I can't figure out a way of doing this other than having a bunch of picture boxes together and making them visible/not visible as needed. Is there a better way to do this?
3. (I think) I know how to make global variables (dim whatever as global.system.integer ? I don't have it on the computer I'm posting with), but how do I make another form use them?
4. Is there a way to have multiple sounds play at the same time? Whenever I play a sound it stops whatever else is playing.
I'm a huge music person (got my own lil record thing going) but I'm wanting to design a program that would make music in my way. I have a decent amount of background knowlege of Visual Basic and Java I'm just wondering how could I execute this whole project. The Project is making a MPC Sampler. MPC is a drum machine; a machine with buttons that once you press it that it will play a sound from a drum (ex: snare, kick, tom, ect.) . So I would want to make some pads on my program that each have their own sound. Total of 16 pads. Which the design wouldn't be hard to make nor would the functionality of it having the play back sound (in my opinoin it wouldn't be hard atleast). But the thing is I wanna map out these pads to number keys on the number pad or keyboard. I'm not so sure how to do that. But that's all the easy stuff...
Also finding information is making a sound directory. What I mean by this is that I want to make a User Interface that will open up a file directory of sounds and the user can select what "kick" or "snare" sound he may want for the kick or snare pad. I don't know how to do that or even know what to search; neverless I don't know if this whole project idea is a good idea for Visual Basic or another programing language.
Also LATER ON I am wanting to add a record and export function that alows users to..well...record and export their beat or instrumental ha. That doesn't seem too too complex (mainly due to the fact that all it needs to do is record the users key strokes and then show them and play the sounds, but obviously it would get more complex than that.)
Here is an image of one of many MPCs but one with a directory - [URL]
I have a class library written in .Net that I would like to make available to VB6/VBA. What I tried did not work (obviously as I am asking this question). Here is what I did:
I Created a Class Library Project in Visual Studio 2010 Express and put the code in a Class Module.I opened the project properties and went to "Assembly Information" and checked "Make COM Visible". I went to "Advanced Compile" options and targeted .Net 2.0 (it's very simple code).I then removed all references expect for "System".I built the project (no warnings or errors) and copied the DLL out of the Bin folder into C:WindowsSystem32 I ran RegSvr32 to register the DLL and got the error: The module "MyDll.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "MyDll.dll is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.
Just need help converting this .bat to vbscript. cd
[Code]....
Just need it to go to each user names directory when logging into a terminal server and removing all items in there respective folder. I'm assuming to user the UserString where the "user.name" is but not sure how to do this.
I've programmed in C# for the majority of my .NET career - now I'm working on a VB.net project - when debugging it drives me insane the differences of how the debugging works.two off the top of my head are
1) having to prefix my immediate window queries with ?
2) not being able to mouse over a GUID, I have to ?myGuid.ToString() to actually see the value is there a way I can make it behave like C#?
I'm an absolute beginner at programming and VB, and I'm starting a course in software development. We were given tutorials to do before the start of the course but I'm having extreme diffictulty with them because they're written for VB 6 and we were told to download VB2008 express since we're using that for the courseI got here? I understand basically what it does, but it gives errors in VB2008 and I can't get the add button to stay greyed out when there's nothing in the name field. I also can't get a message box to pop up when I click Add because 'answer' isn't recognised. I also don't understand what "Following code is entered in the .... event". What's an event, how do I enter it in it?
What I'm trying to do is make a MSN like rpogram where you can send Text form a Textbox to a listbox between 2 computers. I have read About TCP/IP connections?
I have made new MDIChild and with textboxes on the form. When the form loads...it will open data saved from a text file to the textboxes. However the data does not load from the text files. When i take out the code, it works fine...but it needs to be a mdi child...the code i'm using is
Dim NewMDIChild As New ViewCustomer() NewMDIChild.MdiParent = Main NewMDIChild.Show()
the form that I need to load the info is "ViewCustomer" and the mdi parent is "Main"
I'm making a non-rectangular UI and I've tried different approaches but still can't get the results I want. The following codes are for the user to move the form around.
I Have a simple notepad, and a toolstrip, inside the toolstrip, it has an option to find and replace the text in textbox one. I made a new form, inside that project, and named it find. Now how can I make it so that when they click on that toolstrip option it opens that form? Also, will I have any troubles being able to find the text since they are two different forms?
I used Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 and i am having trouble making it to where i can make a screen that a video can be played in. I mean i know i have to code it to call if from a folder but i do not know how to set up the form so i can make my own program. My teacher said that there used to be a thing where you just put in on the from and it did it for you is there a special thing you have to download to do that or do you have to actually go through and code it yourself. I do not want to be given code i just want to know the best way of starting my project whether it is making a thing so that i can play the videos
