I'm looking for a way to adjust the monitor's temperature. There's a program called f.lux that does this, but it doesn't get dark enough. The program I'm writing will be used on a boat and needs to be dark enough so that it's not blinding while driving at night.

I have achieved this with the SetDeviceGammaRamp API and the RAMP structure.As it is, it works. I am attaching the code here as well, so that you can see it works.Now, the problem is : At Form Load I am getting the current brightness settings for the monitor :

I have develop VB 2008 that can preview the image through 2 webcams. However, when i run my VB and select to preview through my USB webcam, it display dark screen. But i select to preview through my built in webcam, it works.So, can anyone can the code attached for me?For your information, the USB webcam can function properly using other video/image software.

Can I monitor the registry for changes similar to how sysinternals process monitor does it in VB? I have checked many different articles and C# samples but not come any closer to getting an answer, I would like to know if there an easier way (a VB sample perhaps)that you folks can share. Ultimately I'd like to be able monitor other things too like file system, processes etc but wonder most about how the registry can be done in VB...Would using system.management be a start? Or WMI? if so is there a nice VB sample..

Why do I need this? I am attempting to adapt this snippet to suit my needs for a day/night system in the game I am working on. I am sure that the correct results can be produced with this snippet, but at the very least I need some guidance as to how I can achieve what I want.

where 2 is brightness which makes it twice as bright.Only problem is this doesnt seem to work well because it does it, but takes about 30 seconds!

And this is the problem I have when doing these events: I am using Image lists, .png format, and I have made sure that they are all the same brightness in photoshop i.e. it is Vb that changes the brightness.

The basic principle is to replicate from a Master directory to a Shared directory when specific criteria is met (specific file types are changed, renamed or deleted within the Master directory)Everything seems to work fine with excpetion to MS Office documents. e.g. If I work on a .bmp and save it, it will trigger a changed event. However, with office documents (Word in this example), it appears to rename the MYDOC.DOC file to <freefile>.TMP then rename a different <freefile>.TMP to MYDOC.DOC. This would not be a problem if it was to trigger the Changed or Created event for MYDOC.DOC, but it doesn't. It wouldn't be so bad if the first TMP file was named the same as the second TMP file as I could mirror the process using the Renamed event.I can not filter out TMP files as we use TMP files within the Master directory, albeit for a different purpose.I would use an off the shelf produt, but the files need to be copied to different shared directories based on specific criteria so I can not seem to find a suitable product that fits my needs.
