Application To Monitor Folder Within Programs
Sep 15, 2011I created a vb.net 2008 application to windows 7 with some functions that monitor a folder within "Programs". Folder you created during installation of this application. But every time you launch the software (the exe, after installing the client package) I get UAC and I ask for confirmation. I tried to edit the manifest (with admin user) but it always comes out. I would like to depart immediately launch the EXE application, without uac.

Nov 3, 2010This question may be vague but I was wondering if anyone has ever implemented an application that basically creates a UI to list and monitor all running applications you have running. This applies to many developers who might have multiple programs running continuously and it would be great to have an app that monitors these programs..or does anyone think it is just unnecessary.

Jan 14, 2009I am trying to create a windows service that sits in the background waiting for programs to be started. When the programs start I want to be able to check a unique bit of information for each program (I believe GUIDs may provide this) to see what the program is. If the program is not allowed, I aim to provide a warning to the user and possibly close the program. The aim of the application is to identify when users are attempting to install additional software on to the computer so simply monitoring for a certain executable wouldn't work as msiexec is called for all MSI's and as I only want to stop blacklisted programs...this wouldn't work.

at I do not know the number of or the names of the folders, they can be different in different cases, I only have the root path.how I can display folder contents in VB.net and the code worked but couldn't figure out how to create the arrays and display only folders within folders starting with "ad_".
System.IO.DirectoryInfo and System.IO.FileInfo to be used for getting the folders.A literal control can be used to create javascript arrays in ASP.NET. These js arrays can then be used on the client side.

I have checked many different articles and C# samples but not come any closer to getting an answer, I would like to know if there an easier way (a VB sample perhaps)that you folks can share. May 7, 2012Have built a project and associated it with a Setup&Deployment Project. The S&D project needs to contain 2 main folders (under User's Desktop) with various formats of files (xmls, txts, dlls) inside them and several subfolders. How can i copy/import these 2 folders and there sub-files/folders into my s&d project?
When adding them in the usual way, they are copied and defined a source path onto the current pc. You can understand what errors this might create when an another targeted pc does not contain those files to the exact location. Is there any way to copy them locally or somehow import them?

Code Is Not Being Executed
Jul 4, 2012My problem is that some code I enter will not be executed. Here is an example of my Form Load event. If i debug the code then the first two lines are executed. The MsgBox won't be executed though. or anything else after it. My programm does run perfectly. But i cant make any changes anymore It's driving me nuts, I don't have the faintest Idea what could be wrong. I sent the code to a friend and he isn't having any problems at all. May 28, 2010I am developing a window application. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and Mysql Database. The problem is, only one form is getting executed when I try to debug.I have changed the startup form to other forms(from a list of existing forms), but still that same old form is getting executed, even if I delete that form or exclude it from the project, it still keeps on executing.
Where this form is stored?(I deleted it from the folder where all other forms exist)

Code Being Executed But Not Being Able To Debug It
Jul 30, 2009I have a hashtable of a class that contains a timer. When this timer elapses x amount of time, it calls a subroutine within the class. This subroutine calls several other functions and subroutines and then its done until the timer elapses again. Now one of the subroutines updates a label on the form and i can see that happening when its supposed to. There is another subroutine that should be updating another label but it is not. I believe this would be a simple correction but when i set a debug point on the routine it does not work. I'm not going to post the code for this as it is hundreds of lines of code and its probably just a configuration in the IDE that got changed somehow.
I run break points around the rest of the project just fine, even in other classes that use timers. Does anyone else have this problem of code being executed but not being able to debug it?

When this is run, on the second ElseIf the value is equal to 5 so whatever is inside that ElseIf would execute. Once that happens do the following ElseIf's get checked or does the program immediately go to the End If?
