I am using Vb.Net 2005's stock datagridview. What I am trying to achieve is for the user to drag the mouse across some text within a cell and have it show the number of letters as they are being highlighted.I thought that this would not be too difficult of a task, but once I realized it that it was I started perusing the Internet for quite some time to no avail.
Ok, so I have a small program I am building for my boss to keep track of workers at certain job sites. With the way the economy is going my boss wants to track who is showing up at specific sites (jobs) and try to even it out among all the employees - some are not working full time.
Anyway, I have two Access tables linked together with the main table being Employee Data. The second Table is Employee Jobs. Basically I have three forms. The main form on startup will show all of the employees in the company - this is basically a list of all added employees into the database (this is the second form - adding employee info). At a quick glance I would like to have the initial startup form, with grid - show employee info, show the number of jobs each employee has been assigned to. Would this be an SQL statement? How to I get a row count and post that back to the grid so it shows up on startup?
How can I get the data row count of a grid view after it has been bound to a sql data source? I'm handling the DataBound event, but I don't see how to get the data row count. Currently I'm looping through ALL of its Rows, counting the data rows.
In my form there is a Data Grid. When the datagrid is populated, I like to display the total number of records in the grid and sum of a particular column of the grid. Is there any method to be invoked?
I'm trying to write an application that will basically copy highligthed text from internet explorer and manipulate it.I was just wonder how I could send highlighted text to a string in my program. It will work a lot like copy/paste such as
Basically, Is it possible to get a grids row count using jquery.if my grid has 20 rows in it not including the header or footer, i want to now the count of actual rows, this will tell my users how many tasks they have in their list.

create an application that when i highlight a text (outside the application (like a word text) ) and i click on control + f shows a message box with the highlighted text......i want something to look like the attached picture
I'm trying to create copy in a menu however i'm having trouble to get it to work as i want it to. I've seen many tutorials online that have 2 textboxes and the code to the copy control is simply TextBox1.Copy() and paste is TextBox2.Paste(). This is fine but what about when you want to copy from TextBox2 to TextBox1 or when you want to copy only part of the highlighted text? Does anyone know what i can use to get it properly working?
How to create an application that when I highlight a text (outside the application (like a word text) ) and I click on control + f shows a message box with the highlighted text. Iwant something to look like the attached picture. Attached Images: vb nacho1.jpg (49.1 KB, 11 views)
I have code to go through a document highlighting letter by letter:
Private Sub Timer1_Tick( ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick If Not RichTextBox1.SelectionStart < RichTextBox1.TextLength Then
This is my source that I created Private Sub FontToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles FontToolStripMenuItem.Click FontDialog1.ShowDialog() RichTextBox1.Font = FontDialog1.Font End Sub Private Sub ColorToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ColorToolStripMenuItem.Click ColorDialog1.ShowDialog() RichTextBox1.ForeColor = ColorDialog1.Color End Sub
When I want to change color and font in richtextbox, all of text in textbox is changed. How to make source code that change color and font in text that we highlight.
I have two forms, one has a textbox on it the other also has textbox on it. Form1's textbox is the source for text found. form2's textbox contains the search criteria.
This the code that I quickly bashed out to do a find functionality of a textbox. The problem is the last line of code. If I use the last line of code the the Source Form.s textbox is highlighted however if the Source Form is Maximised then the Find form will be hehind the Source Form. I don't want that to happen. Secondondly if I dont use the last line of code then the the text isn't seleceted at all.
Private Sub DoFind(ByVal xControl As Control) Dim x As Boolean = TypeOf xControl Is TextBox Static Dim lastfoundPosition As Integer = 1

winforms .net 3.5 Ultrawingrid 9.2 In my subclass of Ultrawingrid.Ultragrid :
[Code]...
This works fine. But when the grid is dropped on a TabControl tabpage, the ctrl-tab looks very different to the sub above. e.keycode is seen as controlkey {17} I realize that by default cntrl-Tab moves between tabpages. I need to override this behavior. My thought is I probably need a subclass of the tabControl which will pass the keycombo through just as the form does but I confess to being clueless as to how to accomplish that. I tried to override the onkeydown of a tabcontrol subclass and just issuing a return and not and base call to onkeydown if the ctrl-tab combo was pressed but it seemed to see the e.keycode as controlkey as well.
How to count number of text line until certain condition using vb 2008? Here is the code to count the number of line until the end of the text file. But I want to count until certain line of the text file.
Dose anybody know how I can tally instances of a particular text occurrence within a txt file using VB.net. Better explanation if I use a textbox and type in a text how I can use VB.net to search a txt file for that piece of text and return the amount counted in another textbox or label.
Below is what I've been using. While it does work, my program locks up when trying to count a rather large file, say 10,000 or more lines. Smaller files run in no time. Is there a better or should I say faster way to count the lines in a text file?
I have a whole bunch of files, which I would need to search for error codes and # of instances it occured. I tried ReadAllLines of File.IO but that just gives # of lines. How would we search for string within a file and count its instances?
