Removing Duplicates Using 2 Columns In Dgview?

But I wanna eliminate the duplicate rows from dgview if the first column and the last column values are same for the rows.in the below image rl1,rl2,rl4 are repeated but the values in ch2 and ch3 are different but still the value in ch4 are same for rl1,rl2,rl4.
so i wanna keep the first instance of rl1,rl2,rl4 displayed at the first time and rest should be removed.
But look rl2 it is case sensitive as the first instance is displayed as rl2 and the second as RL2. But still ignore the case sensitive and should display the result as in dgview2. I am populating from a csv file and it must work for many records.
Office Automation :: Strategy For Comparing Two Excel Ranges And Deleting Duplicates?
Aug 17, 2011I have to compare two columns in two different Excel sheets and delete the duplicates. I have come up with several strategies that work, but I am searching for the most efficient way to do this. At first, I was sorting the columns and looping through them in the manner of a sequential update and deleting when the cell values were equal. But I discovered here an article by Mike Rosenblum that explained that it is much more efficient to stick the columns into an array and iterate them from there. So I was able to do that. There was a complication in that once I had deleted a row, then the array and the spreadsheet were out of sync. So I had to compensate by incrementing a variable each time a row was deleted, and subtracting this variable from the array index to calculate the row to be deleted in the spreadsheet.
So now I am wondering whether there is a better strategy. I thought that if I could merely hide the rows to be deleted and then find a way to delete all hidden rows at once after the loop was over, then this would eliminate the problem of the array and the spreadsheet getting out of sync and would make the code easier to understand. I thought of putting the row numbers of the duplicates into another array and deleting the rows after the comparing loop. But this creates the same problem of having to compensate the row numbers in the array.

May 2, 2009I was given a ppt slide with 12 chart objects and a text box for each. see the zip attachment. This is a collection of metrics that we track and chart monthly. The previous custodian of this duty would manually open each and update the datagrid for each and add comments as needed. I want to automate this process using vb2008 express. I have a basic handle on windows forms and sql tables, but don't have a clue how to access these chart objects and text boxes in the ppt slide. I've tried adding the slide to my project - like an image, but nogo.
I thought I could update the slide using my form controls, taking data entered on the data grid, create my SQLdb and update the slide. There is a one to one relationship for each item on the form and the ppt slide - 12 ea (charts & boxes) on both. My issue is how to define the chart object (mschart) in vb and update the ppt slide.

Office Automation :: Excel Automation - Cannot Use Office PIAs
Feb 14, 2009It appears that when one creates an instance of Excel, using CreateObject, (Late binding), the suggested Excel closing function (with GC.collect etc) does not work. I have tried several suggestions, and the only one that works is process.kill method. Do you see any problem in using this? BTW: the reason we are using late binding is that we cannot use Office PIAs....not sure which version of Office would be installed on the client site. We work with O2003, but the client might still be at 2000 or 2002.

Apr 20, 2010Ok basically what I need to do is the following:Read FirstExcelDoc (attached)For every row in that: Retrieve data from sql server db based on info in the Orange columns of FirstExcelDoc Let's say I retrieved data elements A, B, C, D, and E from sql server. Then I need to enter those same data elements A, B, and C in another excel spreadsheet (which has formulas etc) After inputing A, B, and C in that spreadsheet, read a couple of calculated fields and compare those results to data elements D and E retrieved originally from SQL Server DB. Finally, output the results in the Blue columns of the FirstExcelDoc spreadsheet for that row.Loop through and do the same thing for row 2 of the FirstExcelDoc and keep on until you see "END TEST" in the FirstExcelDoc.
I'm looking for a method of doing this efficiently. I have read several articles over the past few days as well as those from Mike R. but just need some direction to get started on this.To start of I'm looking for whether to read the entire FirstExcelDoc spreadsheet or just read the info for first policy number(2nd row) and process it and write out the blue column info for that row and then loop through and come back and read the second policy number (3rd row) etc... Please attach a code snippet for either way of reading the data.

Office Automation :: Excel Automation Causing: Rpc_e_serverfault
Jun 1, 2010We have a vb program which is run on our server by scheduled task every day. The program opens about 30 excel files, refreshes the data connections, pivot tables and then saves the document in another location.
This may run fine for a couple days but sooner or later the process starts crashing, usually with this error: RPC_E_SERVERFAULT.
My question is, Is it expected that continually opening/closing/refreshing workbooks will inevitably cause the Excel object to crash at some point.

Nos, i've got .NET 4 installed, and i've added the system.tsr and mscorlib.dll files as reference in, say, Excel 2007 (see screenshot).However, when i try to make a thread with anything as basic as "Dim Thread1 As System.Threading.Thread", i get a user-defined type not found error.Indeed, when i use the object browser to see what's in the System file, theres nothing remotely linked to any Threading, and in the mscorlib file, nothing under "Threading" either, just a few Thread related functions, but nothing defining a data type

3...One column listview_DuplicatesRemoved, where final list is to be diplayed without duplications entries and (no code yet) items from listview_RemoveFromList removed as well

Sep 8, 2011I have used VB.NET and Microsoft Offices Interop to create an application that will run on a server and will print files for different users.My problem is that I need to find a way to impersonate different users so that when MS Word opens and prints, the resulting print job is recorded under that user. I found this link that lets you run .net code as a different user - unfortunately it doesn't work with this code. The username recorded is still the user that is logged on the server.Code Removed by moderator. Any ideas how I can make the Office app I'm automating run under a different user to the .net program that is calling it?

LINQ VB How To Check For Duplicates In A List Of Objects
Oct 11, 2011I have a list of objects, each with 2 relevant properties: "ID" and "Name". Lets call the list "lstOutcomes".I need to check the list for duplicates (meaning object1.ID = object2.ID, etc.) and set a flag (valid = false, or something) if there is at least one duplicate. Also, it would be nice to send a message to the user mentioning the "Name" of the object, when it fails.I am sure I will need to use the Group By operator to do this, but I am not used to doing that in LINQ, and the examples out there are just not helping me. This article seems to be close to what i need, but not quite and it's in C#.
