Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knows how to do these from a simple text box. i.e. 'TextBox1'.
I'm just learning VB and it's only a simple text editor but I can't find any good sites or posts that help me in understanding how to do it. These are not really covered in any of the 'beginner' books I have acquired either.

How can I get access in a fast way to the single bytes that form a double variable?
In pseudo-code I want to do something like this:
Dim myDouble as Double
Dim myArray(7) as Byte
myArray = myDouble
'continue doing things with the single bytes
The code is meant for use in a I/O-handler. The double-variables have to be sent / received via TCP. For this purpose they shall be put into / assembled from I/O-buffers.

I've been trying to open Access reports from my application. The code I've been using opens the report but also prints it. I only really want the report to open.Here's the code ...
Dim accRpt As Object
accRpt = CreateObject("Access.Application")
accRpt.Application.OpenCurrentDatabase(strFileName)[code]....
Going through the code line by line I'm pretty sure I understand whats happening, but I'm totally stuck on why the report is sent to the printer. why the report prints?

Any way that I can set the value of a particular field (let's say a name) on a particular record without having to have the data presented on the forum? Syntax would be along the lines of "Go record "12" and set "Callum Kerr" on field #name"?

I'm currently doing a project that includes access 2010 My question will be what driver can I use for an access 2010 *.accdb type file? For a *.mdb it works perfectly well with
ConnString ="Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};Dbq=" & Application.StartupPath & "\CITSDB.mdb;Uid=Admin;Pwd=123;"
But, when I changed the mbd to accdb:
ConnString ="Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.accdb)};Dbq=" & Application.StartupPath & "\CITSDB.accdb;Uid=Admin;Pwd=123;"
It resulted in errors:
ERROR[HY000][Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Could not find file '(unknown)'.
ERROR[IM006][Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager]SQLSetConnetAttr failed
ERROR[HY000][Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Could not find file '(unknown)'
And then it shows me that my code for
If dsLogin.Tables(0).Rows.Count = 1 Then
IndexOutOfRangeException was unhandled
Cannot find table 0
I knew it must be the driver but I don't know what accdb driver I can use for the connstring.

I am trying to update a row or a single cell in ms access through vb.net. But when i update the text box named NRIC, say for example i want to update "s4522147B" to "tr4521856C" and mean while leaving the other fields the same.
But the thing is when i make the changes in nric.text (textbox), the dataset actually updates the whole column in the table instead of the selected textbox.
Below is my code for the update part

I am an old Quick Badic Programmer - I was pretty good. VB 2010, and the .NET framework, are NOT improvements! Moving on, all articles I read about printing are focused on VB 6, and little or nothing about VB 2010 or .NET I don't care about the power pack, since it isn't any better than .NET - so how about a ground-up tutorial on how to print to the printer for someone who is being driven crazy by Microsoft's total F-UP of BASIC.

trying to print a Form that I created using a VB.Net console application. My console application creates an instance of a Windows Form and fills it with data. I then created an instance of the Print Form class from the Microsoft Power Pack and am trying to get the form I filled with data to print but no matter what I've tried it just prints the command console window.
Dim firstPage As New FrontPage 'Windows Form
Dim pf As New PrintForm 'Print Form Power Pack
firstPage.Visible = True
