Is it possible to programmatically zip/unzip files in vb.net? Meaning, not that it will extract the files for the user, but take the files inside the zip and be able to use them in the application?

Inside this folder there will some 5 to 6 files with .Z as extension. I need to unzip all these .Z files and save the unzipped files in a folder like C:UnzippedDataFiles.

But, I have a problem, lets take an example, test.zip , which will have a folder within called Download which has txt files. Therefore, when I unzip I receive the Download folder with the files in it. Now, instead I want to unzip the zip folder to create a Test folder and within the Test folder the Download folder which will have all the text files. The function I have does ONLY the Download folder and not the test folder.

I have found several programs that do have an SDK allowing you to convert .doc files to .pdf files, but they're all of the proprietary type, $2,000 a license or thereabouts.

I am trying to retrieve file details from files in the Program Files folder. I receive an error while trying to retrieve file details.

I receive file not found error at 3rd line. But if I change the path from "%ProgramFiles%Windows DefenderMSASCui.exe" to "c:Program FilesWindows DefenderMSASCui.exe" it works fine.
What should I do if I want to retrieve file details from the path which includes a "%" character?
Having a slight permission problem with Win 7 I am guessing it will be the same on Vista but work fine on XP (yet to try)But my program is sitting in: C:Program FilesCompanyProgram And its trying to create new files alongside itself in the Program Files area but bombing out which I know is permissions. If I go there to create the file myself it comes up with a UAC prompt and when I hit allow it works fine but obv the program can't do that byiteslf so bombs out.Is there anyway I can over come that without the user having to grant admin rights to the program each time it starts or do I have to write data to another place?

But how do I go to an url without Internet Explorer or any other browser starting up? I want to prime the ssrs server on the start of my application so the first report that is generated with it isn't slow.
