I would like to create a build event to do that, but I do not see a "Build Events" folder on the property page. Is there a setting where I can get this folder? A WPF, 2 DLL and another DLL that is a plugin for the app. The plugin project references one of the other DLLs. When I build the Solution and run I was getting an error trying to use the plugin dll because it was expecting an older version of the referenced project. I had to clean and rebuild the plugin project to get it to run correctly.

Copied A Folder With A Project Renaming The Folder

Dec 17, 2010

I have copied a folder with a project renaming the folder. I have then browsed and opened the project in the VB.Net 2005 IDE. I have then renamed the Assembly, root namespace, solution and project, searched and replaced all instances of original name, cleaned, rebuilt, tried deleting the bin and obj folders and rebuilt. But every time I run the newly named exe, when I try and start the original exe along side it nothing happens. it still thinks that the old exe is the same process? Both solutions are single instance applications. Why does it still think they are the same. I want the renamed copy to have slightly different functionality to cater for a different type of user but can't get both exe's to run at the same time which some users need. I can't see anywhere I have not changed the name for the new version.

Web Page To Return Results From Two SQL Stored Procs Via VB?

Apr 17, 2011

I am developing an ASPX web page to return results from two SQL stored procs via VB. When I execute these two stored procs, they both return valid data. But for some reason, when I run this report it doesn't return any errors, however, it doesn't return any records/data either!

Also, I can't debug it for some reason, although I can set breakpoints! This is using VS 2008, but I think reason I can't debug is I believe this is a limited version that just works for SSRS and SSIS.

[Code]...

Could the problem be due to the fact that this web page uses the same SQL connection for both stored procs? The first proc should be returned initially, and the second proc after this screen. So I don't need both stored procs information simultaneously, so I would think I could reuse the same SQL connection.

OK, I found where the problem is located. If I just comment out the Level statement in the Where clause, it does return data. So only thing I changed was that one line in my SQL code and it works. This means missing data must be due to datatype incompatibility, no? What is the problem?

Possible To Rename The "Project" Folder In A Visual Studio 2010 Project?

Nov 22, 2010

I have a VB.NET project in Visual Studio 2010 for an Excel Add-In.I use the "My" namespace, and in general it seems that the "My Project" folder contains configuration information about the project. My problem is that I need to change the name of this folder, because my version manager system won't accept spaces in file or folder names.Edit: There is a hacky way to do it, by renaming the folder and changing all references in the .vbproj file. However, the may work for a command line generation, but it won't work the next time the project will be opened in Visual Studio. The IDE will create a new "My Project" folder, and complain that it can't find the settings in it.

Asp.net - Project Level Imports Stored In Visual Studio 2008?

Mar 16, 2009

I have a Web Service Application Project in Visual Studio 2008. This is supposed to be an ASP.Net 2.0 project and at some point this has been rebuilt using 3.5.VS has kindly added in project level imports to System.Linq and System.Xml.Linq, but when I have re-targeted the project at 2.0 these project level imports have remained.Because the Web Service Application Project does not have the detailed window for editing project references I cannot find how to remove these project level imports. There is no .proj file which is where I would assume these were included.I cannot now build the project as it fails, even though I only get warnings (no errors reported) such as this:Namespace or type specified in the project-level Imports 'System.Linq' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined and contains at least one public member. Make sure the imported element name doesn't use any aliases.
